Youth The Difference | Story of My Faith | MCGI

You may take many things away from a Christian, but you can never take away their God and their faith in Him.

Growing up in a household where her brothers were heavily involved in drugs, smoking, and drinking, Sister Lily Podador saw these vices as a normal part of daily life. Given her environment, turning her life around seemed like an impossible journey—but God had a different plan.

Seeking stability, Sister Lily found employment away from her family and home. This distance gave her the opportunity to encounter the Members Church of God International (MCGI). Through the guidance of the MCGI Locale Youth, she opened her heart to the Word of God and allowed herself to be transformed.

However, her new path was met with fierce opposition. After the passing of her father, her biological family abandoned her. In a moment of deep cruelty, they blamed her for his father’s death, claiming he died from the resentment he felt toward her for changing her religion. It was a devastating accusation for any child to endure. Yet, even as she seemingly lost her earthly family, she stood firm, knowing that nothing can separate a Christian from God.

Sister Lily turned that persecution into passion, declaring: “God can give us many families, but family cannot give us true faith and God.” Eventually, her unwavering determination and perseverance in the faith began to soften the hearts of her relatives.

Watch Sister Lily recount her powerful message of endurance and reconciliation in this episode of Story of My Faith.
