Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City – A multitude of brethren and guests were emotionally moved when Bro. Eli Soriano said that ‘the greatest story of love ever told, is the love of God to humanity’ during the Special Worldwide Bible Exposition early in December.

“The Bible is a love letter from God,” Bro. Eli explained further to the thousands of people who joined the program’s milestone.

Positive astonishment was mutually sensed from the crowd. Some brothers and sisters were even brought into tears of joys while singing songs of praise and upon realizing the deep meaning behind the tremendous love of God to mankind.

The Overall Servant to the Members Church of God International (MCGI) is the host of the religious program Ang Dating Daan, which celebrated its 36th anniversary on December 9, 2016 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Metro Manila, Philippines.

Tracing its first radio airing in 1980 and its premiere broadcast on television in 1983, Ang Dating Daan is now regarded the longest-running Philippine-produced religious program in the country. Bro. Eli and Kuya Daniel Razon has been hosting Ang Dating Daan for the last 36 years.

Bro. Daniel, who was first to speak during the evening’s celebration, expressed his gratitude to God and welcomed everyone who attended the Special Worldwide Bible Exposition.

“We are first thanking the Lord that we have reached the 36th year on air [of Ang Dating Daan]. Thanks be to God for bestowing upon us colleagues in promoting the broadcast of the program Ang Dating Daan― our partners from the Members Church of God International and to all of the people who have extended us their courtesy at numerous venues where our Bible Expositions are being held such as in various provinces here in the Philippines and also in different parts of the world,” said Kuya Daniel on stage.

Over 15,000 people flocked towards the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City and thousands more linked via coordinating centers and satellite receiver centers all over the world during the celebration.

Instrument of God for Truthcasting

During his opening remarks, Assistant Overall Servant to MCGI Bro. Daniel fondly referred to Bro. Eli as an ‘instrument [of God] for us to know many things from the Holy Scriptures.’

“Just the same, our format, as you know, is offering our guests an opportunity to inquire about the Holy Scriptures, the Bible, on spiritual problems,”Bro. Daniel started. “It [Ang Dating Daan] has been airing since through the mercy and help of the Lord up to the present. This format discusses diverse faith-related concerns and gives a chance to our fellowmen of learning about different dilemmas on spirituality.”

Bro. Daniel told guests of the Worldwide Bible Exposition that the celebration hooks up different remote points in the multitude of regions across the world, including South America, North America, Europe, Asia-Oceania and some parts of the Middle East.

Furthermore, Bro. Daniel told supporters that this momentous gathering can also be witnessed through official Church websites, official Facebook pages and Youtube channels.

Quest for Truth Continues

“We are happy to be with you in this moment in our quest for the truth. Our invitation to you comprises of us learning together, thinking about and reflecting on the words of God,” said Bro. Eli live via video streaming.

“We are thanking especially our followers on Facebook, Youtube and from various social media platforms. We are hoping that you could join us in this moment of us learning the words of God,” uttered Bro. Eli as he encouraged netizens to tune in to the biblical symposium.

Apalit, Pampanga—Two consecutive Bible Exposition events of the Members Church of God International (MCGI) made waves on Twitter PH’s top trends.

Assistant to the Overall Servant to MCGI Bro. Daniel Razon announced the Twitter milestones during the Thanksgiving to God service on February 6.

“Thanks be to God, last night, during our [Worldwide Bible] Exposition, there was a simultaneous Twitter discussion wherein our live Bible Exposition reached the No. 1 spot of the Philippine trends, brethren,” said Bro. Daniel.

“This is why if we work together, works and endeavors that are of God will push through and progress, with God’s help and mercy,” added Bro. Razon.

The most recent between the two Bible Exposition events of MCGI was the monthly Worldwide Bible Exposition held on February 5, whereby the event’s real-time Twitter discussion hashtag, #TheLiveBibleExposition, immediately climbed the Top 10 of the Philippines Trends.

The #TheLiveBibleExposition discussion, which was joined in by netizens locally and abroad, helped propel the hashtag up fast from fourth, third, second to the No. 1 spot as of 7:27 p.m. that same evening.

MCGI’s official twitter accounts named after its award-winning religious program The Old Path, regularly host the live Twitter discussion during Bible Exposition events. Giving live updates of the events in English and Filipino, respectively, are @TheOldPathTV and @AngDatingDaanTV.

Set on an earlier date, the English Bible Exposition Twitter discussion also started strong at No. 2 spot on the Philippine Trends. The official hashtag which trended on January 30, at 7:50 a.m. PHT, was #AskBroEliTheBibleAnswers.

The English version of the Bible Exposition, which aims to answer queries from English-speaking audiences such as the United States, Canada, UK and Australia, was streamed live on The Old Path’s official Youtube channel.

The monthly worldwide Bible Exposition entertains questions of faith from guests in different corners of the globe, and is broadcasted in all MCGI Coordinating Centers in the Philippines and via satellite in six of the seven continents.

The most recent Bible Exposition included guests from the Middle East, Asia-Oceania, and far places in the Philippines such as Cotabato City, Northern Samar, La Union, Valenzuela City and even Antipolo City Jail in the province of Rizal.

Newly Baptized Testimonials: October 16, 2015

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on October 16, 2015 at the Ang Dating Daan Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Sis. MJ Bautista, 18, Former Catholic, Pangasinan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I wanted to learn the doctrines of God.

In this Church, [if you follow the commandments of God] you will be saved. Also, every time you attend Church services, teachings are added to you which you can use your whole life.

At first, I wasn’t sure about this as I was solidly a Catholic then; I thought it was the right religion. That was what I believed.

Then, I was able to watch him [Bro. Eliseo]. The very first time, I felt kind of bored because I didn’t want to listen. As time passed by, I understood it. I guess because at first, my mind was closed, but it eventually got opened as I kept attending.

Actually, I haven’t seen my father in a long time, as we [my siblings and I] got adopted. When I returned home, I saw that he was changed; his lifestyle was different as compared to before.

That’s when I saw that this Church can change people’s lifestyles, and I got amazed. Then one time I went with him.

On Being Baptized

I finally felt light, because before I really felt I was carrying this burden inside. Then, I got enlightened by the words of Bro. Eli, and I felt light after I got baptized.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Keep it up. Their explanations are so easy to understand compared to others, like the priests’. But with them, sometimes you’ll even get a laugh or two, and it’s very comprehensible.

~o~

Bro. Christian Figueroa, 18, Former Born Again Members, Pangasinan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Out of the many, many religions that I saw, it is truly only here where I found the reality that I must learn. It is here in this religion.

I was also encouraged to join by her [points to Sis. MJ] father. At first I was kind of bored, because I believed in former religion where there was crying and dancing; I was a Born Again.

That’s when I realized, “Why do I have to dance, cry, when I could listen and reflect on the truths that cannot be learned through dancing and crying, but in listening to teachings as what Bro. Eli preaches.”

I got interested in the doctrines and were able to focus on them. I just had that feeling wherein my knowledge, my awareness, my life views are broadening because of what I have been learning from Bro. Eli.

It’s because of what he says, people’s understanding of each other become bigger. Even though others do you wrong, you understand them.

On Being Baptized

Actually when I haven’t yet been immersed in water, I felt nervous. I don’t know what changes would happen to me once I got out of the water.

But before I got baptized, I prayed that the Lord may guide me. I prayed that when I get out of the water, there will be a new me, and I will have a new life, a new being.

After baptism, I felt I was cleansed. Though not in the physical way, but spiritually; I felt it. I felt the new me. I hope it will continue until the end.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

To join hands with them, to be with them until the end. I cannot say anything more for them, but that they’re good.

~o~

Sis. Dolly Diaz, 30, Former Born Again Member, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I really wanted to join. My parents are just one month in the Church and they have encouraged me as well.

On Being Baptized

I feel happy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will continue what they are doing.

Bro. Jonathan Librojo, 23, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

It’s about time. I just felt it. My parents are [members] as well. They’ve been in the Church for more than 10 years already.

It was on Youtube that I was able to search for whatever [teaching of Bro. Eli] I wanted to listen to. But it was when I got indoctrinated, that’s when I started listening intently.

I learned a lot as it was so informative. It was really amazing. Everything that Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel say is right.

On Being Baptized

I was of course happy, and I felt light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Keep doing what you are doing. It’s really delightful to know that there are people like them who have been given such an understanding of the Bible.

~o~

Bro. Maximo Pedrigo Jr., 63, Former Aglipayan Church Member, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

Ever since I was assigned in Cavite, as my boss was there, I always carried around a radio.

One time when I was sleeping, I was awakened at around 1 am when I heard the Ang Dating Daan [The Old Path] program. And I wasn’t able to get back to sleep anymore because I liked the question and answer portion.

Since then, it stuck in my mind that that program was good. Also, as I listened on the radio, I found that there are many people who are asking about the true religion.

Bro. Eli said that the true religion is the Church of God, not the Iglesia ni Cristo [Church of Christ], etc. I was assigned in Cavite for six years, and I listened to Bro. Eli the entire time.

— — — — —

Now, I heard on the radio that there was a locale near Blumentritt, where one of my children lived.

I rode the LRT and saw the signboard of Ang Dating Daan [The Old Path] in Libertad, and the thought of it didn’t leave my mind.

It was last month; perhaps the Lord God has already called me to be in the true religion. So I boarded off the train and looked for the coordinating center in Libertad.

I found a sister there and I asked, “Is this the coordinating center?” She responded, “Yes, what can we do for you?” At that moment, Bro. Eli was speaking.

I told her that I was from Malibay, Pasay City. She said that there’s a locale there by the 7-11 store.

— — — — —

That same day I went and searched for the locale. There were two 7-11’s there: One inside the district and one by the highway. At the onset, I didn’t see it. But the second time around, I found that it was near our place, and I went there.

I found a Bro. Kenneth there. I said to him that I wanted to be baptized or get indoctrinated. They indoctrinated me right then and there, and I continued from then on.

The first time I got indoctrinated, I was so happy and even when I was already home. My heart was enlightened and saw that this was what I was really searching for that was lacking in my life.

In my baptism today, it’s Bro. Philip who assisted me as I’m the only one who got indoctrinated at the time. Last week, he also brought someone here to be baptized.

On Being Baptized

I felt as if the heavens were opened unto me. I cannot explain now the joy that is in my heart. I’m really very happy. If it weren’t for Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, I might have been truly lost in faith now.

I hope that my family will follow. I want my wife to join the Church as well. I told her, “Come attend with me.”

She said, “It’s just debates.” I said, “No, you’re just going to listen first. It’s not a debate. People just ask him questions and he answers.

She replied, “Okay. I’m not stopping you because it’s good for you to change.” I said, “Yes, I’m already good to you, so please come with me.” But she told me that I should go first, and so I did. I will gradually try to convince her, for her to be in the true religion.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I have not seen any one who is like him who answers every bit of question asked him, actually even family problems. That’s why I always hope, I always include the two of them in my prayers. They were the ones who lead me here through their explanations on TV.

~o~

Bro. Zandro Gonzales, 45, Former Catholic, Rizal Province

On Joining the Church of God

This is where I saw the true change in a person, because many people have been changed by this already.

I was a drunkard back then, but when I heard the words of Bro. Eli, I voluntarily submitted myself to baptism.

I have long been listening to Bro. Eli, about a month now. But the first time, I didn’t decide yet on being baptized; I thought about it first. When I returned, that’s when I pushed through with it.

On Being Baptized

I feel pleasant. I feel light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful that I have now been baptized and for their teachings that have helped me with God’s help.

~o~

Sis. Fely Tabula, 55, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

It’s on TV that I hear Bro. Eli Soriano. My husband watches him also and he told me to watch it as well.

Before I said to him, “I don’t want to watch that. I don’t want to listen.” Then one time when I did listen, there was a topic about Catholicism.

There was one who asked him about this and that in Catholicism, and Bro. Eli said that it is prohibited in the Bible to ask for fees for baptizing someone, and his lecture surrounded that topic.

Then I thought, when I was given a Bible in Catholicism it had payment. Listening to Bro. Eli’s words that time, I felt that my heart was touched and it got inculcated in me that these teachings are from the Bible.

Since then, I always listened to him. It started in September. I always tuned in to him and followed the topics he discussed.

In Catholicism, the teachings are not read from the Bible. A verse from the Scriptures would be read, but then that’s it.

— — — — —

I would watch a movie on TV, and finish it, but whenever 10 pm arrived, I would tune in until the wee hours to The Old Path program.

Then Bro. Eli had an invitation on TV to attend and listen in the Mass Indoctrination. So I searched for a locale in San Juan.

We my husband and I went to UNTV and they showed us where the locale was in San Juan. It was the former college campus in Domingo.

We saw the brethren there and I told them that I would attend the indoctrination on Monday. I felt then that I was being called. I guess it was the Spirit telling me that this is the truth.

On Being Baptized

I felt peaceful; it’s that feeling of being content inside, like you have no fear anymore.

Of course, you cannot dismiss the fact that sometimes there will be those who will persecute you. Actually, even when I wasn’t yet baptized, there were already such people.

I was accustomed to wearing pants and shorts, and never wore skirts. So when my neighbors saw me, they told me things.

I realized, you really cannot avoid being mocked, and you really will be persecuted, because they don’t understand why you’re doing it.

For me, it’s okay. That’s the way it is; there will be trials. They may do what they want with their lives, but I will continue with what makes me happy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I thank him [Bro. Eliseo] because he was the one who encouraged me to join. My gratitude is great, because of course your life will be changed now.

You won’t see yourself anymore chattering or engaging in rumor talks. You’re just going to be at home and read the Bible.

I think my neighbors believe I’m sulking myself at home. They don’t know I’m reading the Bible.

My gratefulness to him is great because my life views have been changed.

~o~

Sis. Veronica Ballesteros, 23 Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I was invited by someone to attend the indoctrination, and it’s only then when I realized the wrong things that Catholicism is teaching. So it’s about time that what I believed in became right.

I have been listening for just less than a month. I think it was in the first week of September that I started listening.

I really had no idea about The Old Path before. But the impact of the doctrines was really great.

On Being Baptized

I felt happy and with such a light feeling inside, like you have no constant worries or anything.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will continue what they’re doing, and may they have more courage for their message to be heard by a greater number of people.

~o~

Sis. Maricel and Louise Gonzales, 38 & 19, Former Catholics, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

Sis. Maricel: I should have become a member a long time ago, perhaps since about 15 years ago. Only, my husband didn’t want to as he didn’t want us to have different religions.

He said, “If it’s Catholicism, it’s Catholicism.” So that was the point where I got hindered. I later on got baptized at the Cathedral of Praise in Taft Ave. But I didn’t feel anything.

Then one time, I got to listen to Bro. Eliseo through TV, and there were those in our neighborhood from whom I got CDs of Bro. Eli’s preaching. You will really understand the teachings.

I soon attended in a locale in the city. She [pointing to Sis. Louise] was still 5 years old then. But then my husband really didn’t want to listen, and he would argue with me. Now, even if he does, it’s okay. I know he doesn’t understand it, but it’s needed.

Sis. Louise: Whenever mama watched the program, I would get to watch, listen as well, and I wanted to join as well already. So I followed mama.

On Being Baptized

Sis. Maricel: It feels light inside. I was shaking and I felt that I was a new person, and I can’t explain it.

It’s the first time I ever felt something in my life. I was truly sorry for all the wrongs things I have done, and sought the Lord’s forgiveness.

Now I feel that I really want to obey Him and walk in His statutes. That’s what I felt before: That I wanted to obey God.

Sis. Louise: I was shaking then, and I felt that there was something new in me that I cannot explain. It was just really a different kind of feeling.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Sis. Maricel: I hope that their preaching will last that many more people will be lead here unto the Church of God and be changed. I wish for more strength for Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, that they may lead the many people who depend on the teachings they give.

Sis Louise: May they continue their preaching to people that many more may be awakened unto the truth, may learn the doctrines.

On Joining the Church of God

I was brought here by Bro. Prencinillo, and I really wanted to be here.

He always brought me to the locale. In September, he invited me to attend the indoctrination. I don’t remember the exact date, but it was in the Locale of Piquan, Nueva Ecija.

He brought me to a Bible Exposition that I may get a copy of the Bible. He actually brought me to a Mobile Coordinating Center.

On Being Baptized

I felt light, because before coming here, I really felt heavy. But after I got baptized, I felt light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many thanks to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel.

Sis. Jennifer Toledo, 26, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I really wanted to learn the teachings of God. I wanted to be enlightened of all His doctrines.

I was invited by my workmate, Bro. Guillermo. That’s when I started to listen to Bro. Eli.

I have tried attending in other religions, but it’s only here where I heard [the teachings of God], where I understood everything.

It was in September, September 11th if I’m not mistaken. I think it was a Bible Exposition.

When I heard the preaching, that’s when I believed. With others, it’s just with their own words. But with Bro. Eli, it’s through verses.

That’s when I really got enlightened. He doesn’t just speak. But he takes everything he says from the Bible.

On Being Baptized

I felt light inside. I felt that I wanted to get rid of every unpleasant thing I’ve done before.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

With Bro. Eli, I’m thankful because I got enlightened now. I hope that in the coming days I will be more enlightened of the teachings that I will learn. Thanks be to God because He gave you wisdom to be able to share what is right.

Sis. Danelyn Dela Cruz, 22 Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I actually felt bothered by my conscience already. I have been delaying, disregarding this for so long. Then, just all of a sudden, I felt my conscience telling me that I really needed to join already.

My papa has been a member since 2001. He’s 14 years already in the Church. He was the one who told me to attend the indoctrination.

At first, I felt like I didn’t want to go. I didn’t really feel like going to the point that I would make ways for me not to be able to go. But deep inside me, there was this voice that says, “Try and go. Fight that feeling. I’m am here already.”

On Being Baptized

Mixed emotions. Before I got immersed in the water, all I felt was being sorry for my sins, as I had committed many.

I had done many wrong things. I always felt irritated before. After baptism, I felt light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will be able to continue. I also hope that Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel will be healthier that they may be able to preach the words of God.

On Joining the Church of God

I found this to be the true religion. Also, this is where I found the answers that I have been searching for.

I first listened on television. Then, my wife became a member [in April of 2015].

Before, I would just drive my wife to the locale. She would invite me in, but I declined at first. Though, I felt even then that I wanted to join her there already.

One time, I did go with her. When I got there, I really liked the teachings in the Church.

When I was a Catholic before, we worshipped idols. Now, when Bro. Eli read the teaching concerning that, it hit me and I realized that what we did was wrong.

On Being Baptized

I felt happy. I felt that my doubts in life are gone.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, many, many thanks because I learned the true teachings of God from you. Also, I thank him for welcoming me here in Apalit. Many, many thanks.

Sis. Norie Anne Macabutas, 17, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

It’s here where I better understood the teachings of God.

My uncle is already a member here. He invited me to get indoctrinated. Even at the onset of it, the reason why you need to get indoctrinated first before becoming a member of the Church of God is explained.

On Being Baptized

I felt light inside. Before, even when I got baptized in the Born Again, in the Adventist church, I felt that I still had my sins.

I didn’t attend in those much, because I felt bored. I listened to the teachings there, but it’s here where I better understood everything. Here, Bro. Eli explains every prohibition of the Bible.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Of course, I’m thankful because there are preachers like them who teach for people to better understand the doctrines of God.

~o~

Sis. Mercedes Gutierrez, 32, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Firstly, I wasn’t really active in Catholicism because it was like nothing was happening.

When I got married and moved to Bulacan, I was able to watch on UNTV. I said, “What Bro. Eli is saying is good.”

I wasn’t able to follow the program avidly though. I was able to watch only when I had the time. But I said, “It’s really okay.”

– – – – –

At first, my husband said to me, “Oh, those religions are just all the same.” I told him, “Why don’t we give it a try?”

Before we got indoctrinated, many things troubled my husband, so we thought to not push through with the indoctrination. That time, Satan won; he won.

After his trip he told me, “You know, Ma, all I could think of during my entire trip was being indoctrinated.”

So that same night, we went to the locale and listened to the doctrines. That’s when it started until we have arrived to this point. My husband and I were both baptized today.

– – – – –

It was my first time to hear such doctrines. I realized that there were many dos and don’ts.

It’s unlike in Catholicism. I have aged and all and yet I didn’t know that what I was doing was wrong. I didn’t know it, because nobody taught it. It was only Bro. Eli who preaches what is acceptable, what is not, and what we should do.

On Being Baptized

I was crying. I was really crying.

I didn’t anymore hesitated. I said, “I’m really going to pursue this.” Actually, I’ve long wanted to, but many things just got in the way.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that his life will be longer as he is already old. I also hope that many more people will be able to listen to his preaching.

~o~

Bro. Romeo Tan, 53, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I saw in the truth in the teachings taught by Bro. Eli. Everything he said was undoubtedly true and has basis; all of it is from the Bible.

When he preaches, there’s nothing added nor taken away, but teaches what is written in the Bible. It is unlike in other religions wherein they either add or take something away, just make things up.

I saw this on Youtube, and I studied it first before joining here, whether it was right and whether it was really the words of God that are being preached.

– – – – –

When I found everything spoken is the truth—nothing lacking, nothing added, and with basis—I didn’t anymore have second thoughts to join this day, September 25.

This is my own decision. I voluntarily came here. Actually, nobody lead me here. I was formerly a Catholic.

In Catholicism, there is idol worship, praying to graven images; they even kneel before those things.

Thus, I thank God that despite being stricken by years already, my mind has been enlightened. Thanks be to the Lord that He lead me to the true Church.

On Being Baptized

My feeling was so light. Before I was baptized, I was reflecting while sitting on my chair. I just suddenly felt that my tears were falling, that I was crying.

It was like I suddenly surrendered myself to Him, to the Lord God and His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

I have repented of all of my past sins, of all the wrong things I’ve done.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will not tire in helping and leading all the lost souls unto the true Church of God.

Bro. Brian Almasco, 22, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I was formerly a Catholic and attended mass. Whenever I hear the sermon of the priest, I felt that something was lacking. It’s like they were not obeying the Bible, that they were too lax.

When I was able to hear Bro. Eli on TV, I felt joy. I felt as if I always wanted to hear more. It was like, “It’s over already?”

Then she [pointing to the sister beside him], my fiancé, told me to listen to the indoctrination sessions. I listened until I saw that what is in the Bible is right. So I continued my indoctrination.

As I said earlier, in other churches like in Catholicism, in the Iglesia ni Manalo, there are many things lacking as they don’t teach everything.

That’s why when I heard Bro. Eli, I got enlightened. I said, “It’s really right, especially his Bible Expositions.”

On Being Baptized

I felt light. It felt also cool and even the breeze felt good.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli, I hope that he will continue spreading the word of God. I also hope that God give him more courage amidst all the persecutions of other churches towards him.

On Joining the Church of God

At first it was because of my mother’s invitation for me to attend. But when I heard the word of God, I thought that: Before I was just obeying [my mother], but now I go voluntarily.

I felt that something had changed. Even when I was just attending the doctrines, my mind was already changed. I thought everything I knew was right, but I learned to be wrong.

There were many [doctrines] that I found really striking: the one in clothing; in rightfully treating others even our enemies, in not bearing any ill feelings towards anyone.

– – –

Now, concerning the doctrine of modest apparel, there are many rape cases in our times. I thought, why wasn’t that taught to us before, or why it was taught but not heeded to by [other religions’ members]?

I often went out in shorts before. Then, I felt shame because I learned I shouldn’t be wearing that.

Secondly, you must also love your enemy. Of course, it’s hard to treat your enemy right. But I thought, the Lord Jesus Christ did it. God willing, I hope I will be able to learn and do the same.

– – –

My mother was also instrumental in my becoming a member.

Last year, I was hospitalized. And the patient in the bed next to me was a member. So I got to listen to the teachings there as well.

Later on, I joined Bible Studies. I then searched in myself and found that I wanted to have a deeper knowledge of things, so I listened.

This is actually the third time I’ve been [indoctrinated], and I’m thankful that God willed for this to happen; I decided to do this because I’m thinking, the end of the world is near.

On Being Baptized

I felt that I was born again, like I was new. I felt like someone who had just been born without any care in the world. It’s a new start.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, thanks to them because they are instruments in teaching the words of God.

Of course, with the numerous religions that have sprung in our country, it has become difficult to believe immediately. But thankfully they are there, striving, sacrificing their own happiness, and offering it for the members of the Church.

On Joining the Church of God

I found the truth. This is where I found the truth, the works of the Lord God that are right. He used Bro. Eli for this to be established, for the message of the Gospel from God reach the whole world.

I heard about this through my neighbor, Bro. Rolando Torda, and I asked him to accompany me to the locale. He was instrumental for me to become a member here and serve God.

On Being Baptized

I feel happy. After I got baptized, everything felt clear; my mind was clear. My heart feels… All I know is that it’s such a happy feeling. I can’t explain the exact feeling I have.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many thanks to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, most especially to the Lord God, that I was given a new life having been taken out of a wicked past.

On Joining the Church of God

The way I found the Church was actually through Sister Rochelle and Sister Joanna. I met them through mutual friends in the United States.

What I found was, every Saturday, they would get really excited to come here to Apalit, to the Convention Center. And I mean, it’s really for Saturday; it was a devotion and dedication I never witnessed before.

Where I’m from, church is about one or two hours, and it’s hard to get the congregation to come to Church every Sunday.

– – –

[But] every Saturday, they did not only want to go, but we’re excited to go to Apalit. So my thought was, “Why?”

Why are they excited? Why do they want to go? What makes them that devoted? So I went online, on Facebook; I found MCGI on Facebook, and I decided to send a message.

I wasn’t sure if I would get an answer, as it could take some time. I thought it wouldn’t get a very quick response; so I was surprised when I got a response almost immediately.

On Being Baptized

Oh, I don’t know how to explain it. I wish I had words for it. I told them when they brought me my clothes, because they asked me the same question. And I said, “I don’t have the words.”

Yeah, I didn’t know how to explain it. And I still don’t, even this far, even after some time that I got to think and reflect on it. I don’t know how to express what I’m feeling.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

First things first: Thanks be to God that they decided to do what they’re doing because in all of my years, in all the churches that I’ve attended, different preachers or ministers or pastors, I’ve never had two better teachers than Kuya Daniel and Bro. Eli.

When I started the indoctrination, as Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel started teaching the first doctrine, I immediately, grabbed a notebook and a pen, and I started taking notes.

At the end of that doctrine, I had six pages of notes. At the end of eight doctrines, I had 30 pages of notes for all of the eight doctrines.

I’ve never been taught anything about the doctrines like they have taught me. I was able to understand and know now how I’m supposed to live as a Christian.

I came from what in my country is considered as Southern Baptist. I’m 47 now, so, I started three years old. So, 44 years up to now. I have always been Baptist.

On Joining the Church of God

That I may be able to serve God in these last days.

I always listened in Bible Expositions. It’s only now that I’ve heard such kinds of doctrines. It feels good to my ear. It’s very delightful.

On Being Baptized

I felt happy, so very happy. It feels light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, may God lengthen your days. Stay healthy as well.

MCGI Breaks Guinness World Record, Promotes Charity for PWDs for The Old Path’s 35th Anniversary

With 8,688 choir members, Members Church of God International (MCGI) broke the Guinness World Records for the Largest Chorale Group during the Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path or TOP) program’s 35th anniversary celebration on October 12, 2015.

The Ang Dating Daan (ADD) Chorale graced the Smart-Araneta Coliseum, from the stage to its aisles, singing and dancing to 18 numbers of songs and medleys of praise in different languages.

The official praise song piece of the grand Ang Dating Daan Chorale is a 15-minute long medley composed of four MCGI praise songs entitled “Stand Up,” “Praise the Name,” “Hallelujah, Amen,” and “Enrich the Spirit.”

The four songs are original compositions of one of MCGI’s resident composers and conductors, Bro. Bong Rueda.

Guinness official adjudicator Ms. Fortuna Burke Melhelm confirmed the record-breaking feat on the same day of the event.

“It takes an organization that’s very special, very talented, and it takes the best in the world to get a Guinness World Records title,” started Ms. Melhelm.

“The record for the Largest Gospel Choir was 4,745. Today you have the brand new Guinness World Records title,” Ms. Melhelm gleefully finished, which was met with the deafening cheers of those in the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

For his part, Bro. Daniel Razon, the Assistant to the Overall Servant said the award is an additional blessing from God as the group thank God for the 35 years of the Ang Dating Daan program.

“This is something that we did not intend to do – to get the Guinness book of world records [title]. But our hearts intended to give thanks to God,” remarked Bro. Daniel as he received the Guinness World of Records award. “And we believe that this is an additional blessing that came from the Lord tonight, as we thank Him for the 35 years of ADD television program.”

“And so for that, we will always say: to God be the glory,” Bro. Razon added tearfully, as he held the Guinness plaque up for the crowd to see.

The evening filled with songs of praise also featured Ang Dating Daan Hosts Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel offering praise song numbers. Live via satellite, the MCGI Overall Servants sung “The Promise“ and “Through the Years” back-to-back before the entire crowd that filled The Big Dome to its limits.

Charity Work for PWDs

Witnessing the festivities from the front row were persons with disabilities (PWDs), or in MCGI lingo, “Very Important Disabled Persons.” The VIDPs are given special privileges like seating priority during concerts or events along with the elderly.

Not only were they witnesses to the grand musical event, they were also recipients of MCGI’s charitable endeavors. 11 PWD groups received Php 100,000.00 each to help start businesses or fund their operational expenses.

Some of the recipients are the Markina Persons with Disabilities Federation, Paranaque Association of Persons with Disabilities, and Samahan ng mga Magulang na Iniingitan ang Lahat ng Batang Espesyal (SMILE) Inc., to name a few.

“It is the first time for us to receive such help for our federation. As you know, we have a lot of indigent members, and this money coming from The Old Path can help us start a livelihood,” in an interview said Gil Flores, Vice-President of the Marikina Persons with Disabilities.

Bro. Eli Soriano also donated a number of wheelchairs for the PWDs, and gave additional financial assistance to 30 PWD raffle winners. On top of this, all 1,700 PWD guests as well as their aides and family members, received cash gifts and grocery bags before the event ended.

The record-breaking event which featured acts of charity, as well as audio-video presentations of The Old Path’s humble beginnings with intermittent praise songs sung by thousands of chorale members, was high on emotion.

“The official Guinness World Records attempt that took place here today was really impressive; it was really emotional and it was also really powerful – there were lots of charity work that came about here today. And it was incredible to see so many people coming together and doing good and breaking a brand-new Guinness World Records title,” said Ms. Melhelm, Guinness Adjudicator, in an interview with local television channel UNTV.

“I am overwhelmed by the record that the Members of the Church of God set tonight,” expressed Bro. Eli Soriano, who joined the festivities via live web streaming from South America.

Bro. Eli added, “Singing and praising the Lord is older than the universe itself as recorded in the Bible. Now, having the record of the largest [religious] choir group, singing for the glory of the Lord is our pride. Thank you Guinness. May God bless you.”

Congregants of MCGI told during 3rd Quarter International Thanksgiving: “Be A Blessing to Others”

“Christians are meant by God to be blessings to others.”

This was part of the message delivered by Bro. Daniel Razon during the Members Church of God International’s (MCGI) third quarterly International Thanksgiving at the ADD Convention Center and thousands of monitoring centers held on October 2-4, this year.

And a quarter of MCGI’s works attest to this remark by the Assistant to the Overall Servant of MCGI, which culminated to a three-day offering of thanksgiving by the whole congregation across the globe.

MCGI Thanksgiving

Three Months of Giving, Being Blessings to All

This past quarter, congregants all over the world united once more in charitable works in celebration of UNTV Life’s 11th anniversary. Church members took part in one or more of the mass clean-up drives, tree-planting activities, feeding programs, blood donation drives, and more that were conducted from the smallest of barrios to the biggest of cities.

UNTV Life, in partnership with MCGI, mounted mass clean-up drive efforts that covered the whole Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela (CAMANAVA) district of northern Metro Manila.

Meanwhile, MCGI volunteers abroad participated in different public service efforts in their respective communities. Feeding programs and elderly care activities were among those done in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Quito, Ecuador and Colombia. In the United States, members volunteered in charity works in New York, among others.

A three-day public service activity was also conducted by UNTV Haiti and MCGI in cooperation with the Philippines’ 19th Contingent in Port Au Prince, Haiti.

Heightened Propagation Efforts Locally, Internationally

In addition to being blessings to the community via public service, MCGI congregants strove to bring spiritual enlightenment to more souls through heightened propagation efforts this past quarter.

For the past three months for example, attendance to MCGI’s monthly Worldwide Bible Expositions increased more than 250%. From a regular number of approximately 20,000, the event saw 30,000 more participants, totaling 50,000 attendees in a Worldwide Bible Exposition event during the quarter.

This is in support and cooperation to Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon’s call for each brethren to invite a guest, hence, the “Project 1:1.”

Aside from these regular monthly expositions, Bible Expositions in Spanish and Portuguese continue weekly catering South and Central American nations. MCGI also launched this past quarter regular Bible Expositions in Africa and the United Kingdom broadcast over The Old Path’s Youtube channel.

Propagation efforts in South America advanced as MCGI acquired new broadcast relay stations in the effort to reach more souls. The Church also established more coordinating centers in Mexico and other countries in Central and South America. Also known as monitoring centers, these coordinating centers are where brethren hold congregational and Church gatherings and activities.

The congregation also thanked God for the Church’s flagship radio, television and Internet program Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path) which reached its 35th year. The show, the longest running of its kind, has been one of the primary instruments and platforms used by MCGI through Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, in propagating biblical truth and widsom.

For this past quarter, more than 5,000 souls were added to the MCGI fold.

The International Thanksgiving celebration of MCGI is also called Thanksgiving of the Body, wherein Church members from all over the world simultaneously thank God for a quarter-full of His loving-kindness and deliverance.
