Congregants of MCGI told during 3rd Quarter International Thanksgiving: “Be A Blessing to Others”

“Christians are meant by God to be blessings to others.”

This was part of the message delivered by Bro. Daniel Razon during the Members Church of God International’s (MCGI) third quarterly International Thanksgiving at the ADD Convention Center and thousands of monitoring centers held on October 2-4, this year.

And a quarter of MCGI’s works attest to this remark by the Assistant to the Overall Servant of MCGI, which culminated to a three-day offering of thanksgiving by the whole congregation across the globe.

MCGI Thanksgiving

Three Months of Giving, Being Blessings to All

This past quarter, congregants all over the world united once more in charitable works in celebration of UNTV Life’s 11th anniversary. Church members took part in one or more of the mass clean-up drives, tree-planting activities, feeding programs, blood donation drives, and more that were conducted from the smallest of barrios to the biggest of cities.

UNTV Life, in partnership with MCGI, mounted mass clean-up drive efforts that covered the whole Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas and Valenzuela (CAMANAVA) district of northern Metro Manila.

Meanwhile, MCGI volunteers abroad participated in different public service efforts in their respective communities. Feeding programs and elderly care activities were among those done in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Quito, Ecuador and Colombia. In the United States, members volunteered in charity works in New York, among others.

A three-day public service activity was also conducted by UNTV Haiti and MCGI in cooperation with the Philippines’ 19th Contingent in Port Au Prince, Haiti.

Heightened Propagation Efforts Locally, Internationally

In addition to being blessings to the community via public service, MCGI congregants strove to bring spiritual enlightenment to more souls through heightened propagation efforts this past quarter.

For the past three months for example, attendance to MCGI’s monthly Worldwide Bible Expositions increased more than 250%. From a regular number of approximately 20,000, the event saw 30,000 more participants, totaling 50,000 attendees in a Worldwide Bible Exposition event during the quarter.

This is in support and cooperation to Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon’s call for each brethren to invite a guest, hence, the “Project 1:1.”

Aside from these regular monthly expositions, Bible Expositions in Spanish and Portuguese continue weekly catering South and Central American nations. MCGI also launched this past quarter regular Bible Expositions in Africa and the United Kingdom broadcast over The Old Path’s Youtube channel.

Propagation efforts in South America advanced as MCGI acquired new broadcast relay stations in the effort to reach more souls. The Church also established more coordinating centers in Mexico and other countries in Central and South America. Also known as monitoring centers, these coordinating centers are where brethren hold congregational and Church gatherings and activities.

The congregation also thanked God for the Church’s flagship radio, television and Internet program Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path) which reached its 35th year. The show, the longest running of its kind, has been one of the primary instruments and platforms used by MCGI through Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, in propagating biblical truth and widsom.

For this past quarter, more than 5,000 souls were added to the MCGI fold.

The International Thanksgiving celebration of MCGI is also called Thanksgiving of the Body, wherein Church members from all over the world simultaneously thank God for a quarter-full of His loving-kindness and deliverance.

From Philippines to Colombia: MCGI Joins UNTV Life’s 11th Anniversary Celebration

The Members Church of God International (MCGI) took part in UNTV Life’s 11th year anniversary, embarking on multiple public service initiatives from across the Philippines to different parts of the world.

Members in Bataan, Iloilo, and Bulacan, to state a few, participated in cleanup drives in barangays, which also served as an anti-dengue activity by clearing out possible mosquito-breeding areas.

In Nueva Ecija, members took part in planting 500 seedlings of fruit-bearing trees on a mountain in Brgy. Sto. Niño. The effort is part of MCGI and UNTV’s tree-planting advocacy to help fight climate change.

“I hope that there will be more agencies or groups like this that show concern for the environment,” said Brgy. Chairperson Romeo Mangaliman of Mulawin, Orani, Bataan about UNTV and MCGI’s efforts.

Meanwhile, about 1,000 mangrove seedlings were planted in Masbate City in Southern Philippines, where its residents rely mostly on fishing as their income source.

Mangroves serve as an abode and birthplace of fish. However, a series of floods and super-typhoons like Ruby and Yolanda have destroyed the mangrove ecosystem in the area, greatly affecting their livelihood.

From Community to Elderly Care, Locally and Globally

Over 200 residents of elderly care facilities in Bogota, Medellin, and Bucaramanga in Colombia received a warm visit, free meals and gifts from MCGI and UNTV volunteers.

Carlos Julio Aguilar Alvarez, 74, is a two-year resident of Fundacion de Albeiro Vargas y Angel Custodio. He told the UNTV news team in Colombia that he seldom sees his loved ones, and thanked the channel for giving what elderlies like him need.

“On their 11th anniversary, they chose to help the elderly. This deed is something valuable,” said Albeiro Vargas, the foundation’s founder.

“We thank God, and we are honored to help and to take part in this kind of endeavor that UNTV has started in the Philippines, and now, we have it here in Brazil too,” expressed Bro. Jander Ferreira Toledo, an MCGI member in Brazil.

Helping the Homeless and the Hungry

In the USA, MCGI and the broadcast network also helped at Habitat for Humanity in Maryland. The volunteers lent their hands in lifting and shelving the organization’s merchandize and construction materials, which the same uses to help build affordable and environment-friendly homes for the marginalized.

“They’ve come together and done an amazing job as a team, and helped Habitat for Humanity, ReStore, make some more money to help more families,” said its manager, Heather Cummings.

“Happy 11th anniversary to UNTV!” she greeted.

Meanwhile in Texas, MCGI parents and children spent their family day to help out at the Houston Food Bank by boxing food items for shipment to hunger-relief charities.

The collective effort of the MCGI and UNTV volunteers resulted to a total of 900 boxes.

Volunteer manager Jim Day said of the effort, “I’d like to thank Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel for mobilizing volunteers here to us today at the Houston Food Bank.”

Known as the Philippines Public service Channel, UNTV Life offers a variety of services including a free clinic and pharmacy (Clinic ni Kuya); and free land, sea, and air rides (Libreng Sakay).

UNTV, now UNTV Life, started in 2004 under the helm of veteran broadcast journalist Daniel Razon. Razon is Assistant to the Overall Servant of MCGI, Bro. Eli Soriano.

Through the leadership of the MCGI Overall Servants, the religious organization has been supporting the network’s various good works throughout the years.

Newly Baptized Testimonials: June 26, 2015

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on June 26, 2015 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Sis. Michelle Taboy, 15, Former KNC, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

For me, I really behaved badly towards my siblings, and I wanted to change.

I was a KNC [Kawan ng Cordero or Flock of Lambs], and I was always in the locale. When there’s a Bible Exposition, I would be there. Then sometimes, we watched [The Old Path] on television.

On Being Baptized

I felt that I have repented of all of my sins. I felt very light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli, I’m thankful because if it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have been able to hear the doctrines. For Bro. Daniel, I’m thankful because he’s always there to assist Bro. Eli.

~o~

Sis. Linda Remanes, 26, Former Catholic, Manila

At the age of 26, I had already experienced difficulties in life. We started out poor, and even until now.

However, I realized that we need God in our lives, because there are times when the strength we have won’t prove enough.

[We watched The Old Path] ever since we had a black and white TV. Then later on, we listened on radio we listened on as well.

On TV, it was on Channel 37, and even then when it was on Channel 13, we tuned in. Though we didn’t watch regularly.

—-

Until my father began listening religiously on radio. Whenever I would visit him, I was able to listen to it as well.

Then in 2008, God willed that my sister be baptized. Last year, I was able to attend thanksgivings and worship services regularly. I needed to assist my older sister as she had a severe illness.

Since then, we experienced that. I asked, “Is this a trial of God for her?” Or perhaps, it wasn’t only for her, but for our whole family?

—-

And now I became a member. God willed it, that He had mercy upon me to be joined unto the Church.

Actually I’ve long been told by [my sister] to join; though not forcibly. I did that by my own free will.

It was also because I felt ashamed somehow. I already regularly attended Church services; I was already able to hear teachings, and somehow, even then, they were able to go straight to my heart. I really felt it and that I needed it. I need God in times when we can’t do anything about it.

On Being Baptized

From the first day until the seventh day of [indoctrination], and every time I prayed, I pitied myself and felt ashamed; I always cried during prayer — in both the opening and closing prayers.

When the [baptizer] asked me if until my last breath I would obey the will of God, that I would observe His commandments, until then, I was crying.

But after I got immersed in the water, I felt so light inside. It was like I was lifted. I felt that I was floating in the water.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli, I’m thankful because if it weren’t for him, if he wasn’t guided by God, perhaps, I wouldn’t be the only one who isn’t a member, perhaps, there would be the Church now or that it wouldn’t have increased as much.

To Bro. Daniel, I’m thankful because of his effort in mass broadcasting. He uses tri-media, and even [beyond] it.

It’s not just advertising, but promotions of [God’s words]. It’s not only via the Internet but also in other media. It helped for us, who didn’t know anything about God, to know about Him and He willed for us to be led unto the Church.

I hope that the Lord will continue to guide and bless them that they may be able to help many more people.

~o~

Sis. Gloria Olmedo, 48, Former Born Again Group Member, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I was searching in myself where I should be, because I have already received so many trials from the Lord.

I was told that the reason why He hasn’t yet taken me is because there’s a way He’s giving me that I haven’t gone to yet.

At the time that I was searching [for the Lord’s path], I met a brother-in-faith. He told me to join them.

They were passing by our street that’s why they saw me there. When I saw them, I asked if they had a church wherein I could go to.

I was really a Born Again, but I didn’t have any place to worship in our place. “Come with us.” So I went with them.

On Being Baptized

I felt light. It feels good because the presence of God is there, that He is the one guiding you. As He said, when you call on Him, He will answer. So there.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May they continue preaching to men that those who haven’t heard their preaching can do so.

~o~

Sis. Nita Dataro, 59, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

We feel that it’s very easy in our hearts for us to join here. We saw via television that the way Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel run things is good. That’s why we joined.

It has been about a year ago since my husband and I [first watched The Old Path]. We would watch and listen until late at night.

On Being Baptized

I really felt light and very happy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that their lives will be longer that many more people will join their service to God and in preaching sound righteousness.

~o~

Bro. Frederick Yonzon, 44, Former Born Again Group Member, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

It’s here where I saw and felt the truth. What Bro. Eli says is wisdom that isn’t his own but that which comes from the Father God.

I was able to listen [to Bro. Eliseo] on the UNTV Radio. It’s there where I listened nightly after my shift at work. Even as I go to sleep, that’s what I listen to.

I listened to the questions until midnight. Then on Saturdays and Sundays, I tune in to it as well.

I looked for one of the coordinating centers, and I found one. I continued from there.

—-

I’ve long been listening actually, ever since I was still in Taguig. I had a TV there and I always watched him.

Only, my religion then was the Born Again. But I was able to listen to him in the afternoon. Actually, I liked listening to him more.

When I moved to Cubao, I still listened to him. Even when my child got sick, it was still Bro. Eli whom I listened to.

I just really felt that I needed to get rid of the sins I’ve done, to change my life because I felt burdened already.

On Being Baptized

I felt light. I poured out there all my sins and [have forgiven] the sins of my siblings. It’s like I threw them away and buried them. It’s a new life.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I thank Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel. Because of their program, they are able to help many people.

Those souls who are seeking favor from God the Father are able to hear, even if they are in the outreaches of society, through satellite, through radio.

~o~

Sis. Sarah Ramos, 19, Former KNC, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

I felt the calling of God to me. I don’t want to dilly-dally anymore because I know that this is the true Church of God.

Ever since I was a kid, even before I was born, my parents have already been members of the Church. I grew up in the Church.

On Being Baptized

I felt cleansed of my sins.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Thanks be to God for Overall Servants like them. I hope that until the appearance of the Lord Jesus Christ, Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel will be in our midst.

~o~

Sis. Mary Grace Guinipaan, 17, Former Born Again Group Member, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Ever since I [heard] the doctrines of God, I felt that it was good. The teachings are from the Bible.

It’s unlike in other religions wherein they only say one verse. Bro. Eli really takes the time to teach us the teachings of God. The instruction is good; you will really learn.

I was able to listen just this year, and I continued doing so. I felt that it would be a waste if I didn’t grab the opportunity.

I told myself, “This teaching is good; I will continue with it.” I was told that there was a baptism, so I pursued that because the doctrine is good, and you have a chance at salvation.

On Being Baptized

It’s like we were washed with sacred water. Also, we feel happy because we’re going to be saved [if we will triumph with God’s help], and that our sins are gone. So thanks be to God.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May he continue bringing the teachings from the Bible to people that many more people on this earth to learn these things. I learned that the teachings are good.

I hope that he [Bro. Eli] will also take care of himself as he is already old. [[I believe] that God always takes care of him.

I hope that he doesn’t stop in helping people. Imagine, even his money, he doesn’t see it anymore. He really spends it all for people.

That’s why people are proud of him. That’s why people love him.

~o~

Sis. Machel Tejero, 20, Former Born Again Group Member, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

For me, it’s because the basis is really the Bible. Then, he also says, “What the Lord Jesus did is like this, like that.”

He also well explains everything that the Bible says. That’s why the people understand what the Lord Jesus Christ did, and that that is what we must do also.

My friend invited me to attend a Church service. At first, I was half-hearted. As I continued, I thought that I can be saved if I continue listening. Also, God knows what I felt, and that it could be changed when I get baptized.

On Being Baptized

I feel happy that I have been baptized and that my sins have been forgiven, and that we have returned to the Lord.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many thanks to Bro. Eli for sharing to the whole world the teachings of God.

Many people are able to change by listening to him, those people who are ready to change and serve God.

I hope he always takes care and may God constantly guide him. I hope that he heals from his sickness. May he be able to help and save many more people.

Sis. Amparo Salting, 60, Former Catholic, Nueva Ecija Province

On Joining the Church of God

The teachings are good. I was invited to the Locale of Camp Tinio.

I was able to listen there, and told Sis. RJ that I wanted to be indoctrinated the following week as the teachings are good.

It was my first time to be invited to [a Church gathering], and it was to an indoctrination session then…

I was indoctrinated in just three days as I wanted to be baptized in the week that followed. It was a whole-day session; Sis. RJ was really tired, but it’s okay with her as it is for the Lord.

On Being Baptized

I feel okay. I’m happy… I was crying because of joy. Of course, when you feel the Lord, that you have accepted Him… You’re crying because He’s with you.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many, many thanks to you Bro. Eli, because you changed my life through listening to the doctrines that you preach.

Many, many thanks and may God bless you more. I hope that your service to God will lengthen that you may be able to save many souls.

~o~

Bro. Alvin Ganancial, 26, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I wanted to change and know the true God.

It was because of my mother; I saw that she had changed her attitude.

I then asked myself how my mother was able to change, and why I didn’t join [the Church] or take a look at it or listen to the doctrines.

With God’s mercy I became [a member] today. I’m also thankful that I have accepted Him wholeheartedly, and that I was able to join the Church of God.

My mother is also a new member. She became a member only this year; I think she is just less than two-months old.

She somewhat encouraged me to join, and I want to do the same to our household to know the true Lord.

On Being Baptized

It felt good. I felt relieved that my sins are gone, having repented of them. And I know that the Lord has forgiven me as well.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, Bro. Daniel, I hope that the Mass Indoctrination will grow wider, and that you may be able to save many more souls not only [here] but abroad as well. Let’s support each other.

~o~

Bro. Francis Moreto and Sis. Nenette Manguiat, 25, Former Catholics, Batangas Province

On Joining the Church of God

Bro. Francis: We have heard truth.

Sis. Nenette: The teachings of the Church of God are better than those of my former religion’s.

Bro. Francis: We have listened to The Old Path through TV and radio for many years now. We religiously listened to the teachings and have accepted them right away.

Sis. Nenette: We voluntarily went to the Locale in Lipa, and it was where we attended the indoctrination continuously. And it was through my co-teacher, who is also a member, that we were able to get there.

Bro. Francis: I have long heard [Bro. Eliseo], and I was looking for someone I know [who is a member] to guide us to The Old Path.

She was chatting on Facebook [her co-teacher], but she wasn’t able to reply to us. When we didn’t consider it anymore, she was the one who…

Sis. Nenette: I was the one who went to ask her in person. She probably rarely [opens Facebook].

Bro. Francis: Then as we have been attending for two indoctrination days already, I saw someone I knew, who I didn’t know was also a brother. That’s the only time I knew.

On Being Baptized

Sis. Nenette: As [Bro. Eli] said from the Bible… What I felt is really hard to explain.

Bro. Francis: At first, while I was just in line to be baptized, I felt nervous, and I didn’t know why.

But after I got immersed, I have forgotten all my sins and never to commit them again [with God’s help and mercy].

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Francis: I hope that they will continue speaking the words of God that many more may hear it.

I hope that many more brethren will be encouraged to join, because this is where I saw and understood the true meaning of the Bible, of God’s teachings.

They are taught and explained one by one, which aren’t taught in other religions, in my former religion. It’s only here where I found and understood those things in such a long period of time.

Sis. Nenette: I share the same sentiments.

~o~

Sis. Meizl Ann Fercia, 20, Former Former KNC, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I feel that I am already prepared to receive the doctrines that I have heard since [I was a kid].

When I started in college, I wasn’t able to attend [in the KNC]. We have a store and I was the one assigned to that; I would go there after school. Then, I also studied.

On Being Baptized

It feels good inside as I have long dreamed of it.

Actually, after [graduating] in the KNC, I already wanted it…So I’m really happy that I have now been baptized.

I’m thankful to them [my parents] for establishing us; they were able to send us to school. Now, they still guide us and I’m a member now because of their guidance as well.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, may they continue spreading the words of God which they have started before, and may God continue to guide them.

Sis. Maria Lerim Nuelle Babon, 16, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

Firstly, I heard [Bro. Eliseo] through papa as he was watching on Youtube. Then, he saw The Old Path through his friends on Facebook.

When he learned [more] about it, he would go to Youtube and made us listen to it. So we then got indoctrinated.

When I heard the teachings of God, I developed an interest in [learning] God’s words.

On Being Baptized

I’m happy because I feel that my sins are gone. I also feel that I want to obey the teachings of God, His commandments that I may be saved.

At first, it was my papa who wished that we be baptized here. Then, I wanted to join here in The Old Path [the Church of God International] because what they teach is right. It’s really in the Bible.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli, I hope that you will be able to help many more of our fellowmen to hear the teachings of God through The Old Path that their souls may be saved.

I hope that you will be stronger that you may be able to teach our brethren the more.

~o~

Bro. Raniel Rally, 56, Former Born Again, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

I saw the good scriptures of the Lord Jesus Christ as well as the explanations of Bro. Eli Soriano.

[I watched] through UNTV. It’s [The Old Path] the only program I follow on television.

On Being Baptized

The aches I felt are gone. Actually, I have a heart condition. And I said, “Perhaps I will feel pain once I get immersed in the water.” But it didn’t happen.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that his preaching of God’s words will grow more and that his life may be longer.

~o~

Bro. Bon Lim Tan, 53, Former Catholic, Rizal Province

On Joining the Church of God

I have really long been looking for the right group to join in; then, I saw this. As they say, everything [Bro. Eli] says has sense. So I joined.

I have a caretaker in Antipolo who joined here, his whole family actually. He invited me [to attend]. I told him, “Sure. I’ll give it a try,” since I have long been searching.

—-

Our family is a closed-knit Catholic one. I really am the only one in our family who isn’t. And it’s because I didn’t see in Catholicism what I saw here.

Actually, in Catholicism, the Bible is rarely mentioned. Then, ever since I was a child, we have been devotees of St. Jude. In Manila.

However, I didn’t hear any doctrines that are from the Bible. When I was in high school, I read by myself, but I didn’t understand it. Until I joined here and understood all those things.

I’ve been [listening] for a long time, since 1983 or ’84. It was still on Channel 13 then… I was still in college. [laughs]

On Being Baptized

Although I’m a man, I felt… [starts to cry]. Though, I tried to conceal it.

The last time I got baptized, I was still small [laughs], in the Catholicism. Nothing more followed after that.

Then, I joined here, and immediately got baptized. The feeling is different; it’s like you’re new again.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, Bro. Daniel, I hope that your lives will be longer that you may be able to teach many more people who seek the good path.

~o~

Sis. Jonalyn Dela Cruz, 24, Former Iglesia ni Cristo Member, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

I felt that I was being called. That’s why.

My father, brother and aunt are MCGI Church workers. They invited me a long time ago, actually. I was still single then when they had invited me [to join].

I’ve been indoctrinated a couple of times already, but I didn’t pursue it. I think this is the fourth time already. Now however, I felt that He is calling me.

—-

Then, I encountered a big problem, so my father advised me to listen. After that, I felt that my heart was enlightened, and that all the words and righteousness entered my heart and mind.

We were former Iglesia members. So it seemed hard to accept [the teachings] when I first got indoctrinated.

I told myself, “It’s just lies,” as I grew up an Iglesia. I was a handog (offering). So I had this impression that Bro. Eli was just saying things against it.

[The doctrines] are really true, because in my former religion, the apparel of women is not mentioned. It’s absent in the Iglesia ni Cristo. It’s really not there.

Also, what Bro. Eli says, I feel that I have only been enlightened now.

On Being Baptized

I felt like crying because it’s like all my sins were gone when I got baptized.

I was teary because everything in my past rolled back in my mind; even the little things came back to me. Then, as I approached the stairs, I was asking God for forgiveness, and crying.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Thanks be to God because they were given… they were used to bring me to the right religion.

~o~

Sis. Alexandra Manalili, 24, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

Actually, I’ve been wanting to become a member since I was in high school. It’s really only now that I was able to pursue it.

I really wanted it to happen. Nobody urged me. I just really wanted to join here. Nobody told me to do this or that. I’ve been watching [Bro. Eliseo] since high school until now.

In the past one week or eight days [of indoctrination], my point of view in life has changed.

Then, rules in my life have also changed because it’s different here; there are many [doctrines to obey]. But for me, I feel happy that I have heard the doctrines.

On Being Baptized

I felt light inside, like I was different. It’s the feeling of having a new life or being happy inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will be able to continue their works to help people like us who are lost. I’m happy that they served as instruments for me to know God.

I felt that I was being called to join here.

My mother and father are both members. Papa already passed away. He became a member in 2004, while mama was in 2010.

[In the Kawan ng Cordero or KNC], what I cannot forget learning is Proverbs 22:6 which says: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

On Being Baptized

I felt so happy, and very light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Since I grew up in the Church and already know the teachings, I realized that I should become a member already.

Ever since daddy and mama became members, as well as my siblings, I have been in the KNC starting from a very young age.

All [the doctrines] are based in the Bible. Everything has an explanation. Also, whatever thing you wish to ask, Bro. Eli will be able to answer [through the Bible].

On Being Baptized

I felt super light, like I had no worries.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I felt enlightened ever so clearly. My knowledge about things I didn’t know before also increased.

On Being Baptized

I felt so light, like I was flying. And I didn’t feel any worries because all my past sins have already been forgiven.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Thanks be to God because He gave you to teach us.

Sis. Raquel Palad, 17, Former KNC, Pangasinan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I really wanted to, and because of my parents as well. Also, this is where I grew up.

On Being Baptized

At first, I couldn’t express what I was feeling. All I know is that I was happy. I can’t say anything except that I’m exceedingly happy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

All that Bro. Eli says are in the Bible. I hope that Bro. Eli will be able to come home because he’s long been there. We miss Bro. Eli already.

~o~

Sis. Mila Sumahit, 59, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I just wanted my sins to be forgiven, because in other religions, it’s different. Their teachings are really different with that of Bro. Eli’s.

I live in Cavite. I’m a housemate. I only watch [Bro. Eliseo’s program] when I have no more work to do.

I’ve been [watching] for a long time. My first boss was a member of The Old Path [the Church of God International].

[Concerning indoctrination], I was very happy about it because what Bro. Eli teaches is true. I’ve heard [him] on television. I really listened to it first that’s why I joined.

On Being Baptized

I’m happy. I felt really happy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many thanks to Bro. Eli. I’m really happy that I became a member because of the true doctrines.

~o~

Sis. Anna Juanita Valencia, 52, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

My older sister has long been a member, as well as my mother.

When my mother passed away, she told me, “Join here, my daughter, because this is good.” When she died, I obeyed her…

My older sister also encouraged me. She’s a choir member in their locale in EDSA Muñoz, as was my mother in Las Piñas. I was with her in Las Piñas. Now I’m in Cavite, in the Locale of Molino.

[The doctrines are] really good. I understood what the Catholic priests weren’t saying. In mass for example, those things are not explained.

After or before communion, though I didn’t eat it, [the priest] would tell stories already, and that’s all. He doesn’t speak things about the Bible.

On Being Baptized

I felt light. It’s like your feet weren’t touching the concrete. You were walking, but it’s like your feet kept on searching for a ground to walk on.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, oh how pleasant your teachings are in the Bible! I really can’t say anything about them. Many thanks, many thanks to God that I was baptized this day. It’s my birthday today.

~o~

Sis. Elizabeth Maquiling, 16, Former KNC, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

My mother is already a member, and I see [certain things in] her. She also wants me to be a member, so I joined as well.

[On Bro. Eli’s teachings,] all questions have answers, and they all come from the Bible.

On Being Baptized

I felt light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful because he teaches from the Bible.

~o~

Sis. Elena Malaga, 40, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I really like the way Bro. Eli leads. It was only last month when I [first heard Bro. Eli]. It’s good. We understood every teaching. He really explains it well.

On Being Baptized

I felt happy and light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Continue it; we’ll support him. That’s all. [laughs]

~o~

Bro. Raul Camua, 40, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I have been seeing this before, but I didn’t pay attention to it. And it’s because of what other people or my family might think or say about me.

Then, it seemed like I have been called a few times already, but I didn’t respond [every time], so I was bombarded with problems.

One time my friend brought me [to the indoctrination], but I didn’t pursue it so I had problems again.

Years passed by and I still didn’t give it time. Then lately, as I watched the program continually, it was like I had a dream again saying, “You’re very hard-headed.” So I took it seriously from then on.

I can’t interpret it much, but [in the dream] I was doing something. Perhaps, this is it. This is where I found it. I can’t explain it. All I know is that there were many people before me.

On Being Baptized

I felt somewhat light. I also wished for something back there, but it’s for the better.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will be able to teach me that I may teach others as well… May he continue to be guided by the Holy Spirit…

~o~

Bro. Prince Albert Galindez, 17, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I felt that this is the true Church. Also, it’s unlike others that… I really felt that this is the one. I also wanted to change my life.

My uncle and aunt would take me [to Church gatherings]. Then, [I listened] on TV and on radio, and through every other means like on the Internet and in Bible Expositions.

I have been going with them since 2010. This year, I felt that it was time already.

On Being Baptized

The feeling was so light, like I was a new man. I felt clean, and as if I was floating on air. That’s how it felt.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will be able to continue with God’s mercy. I hope that they will be able to help many more people like me.

Newly Baptized Testimonials: May 15, 2015

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on May 15, 2015 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Bro. Brian Migue, 27, Former Catholic/Atheist, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I believe in the things that Bro. Eli says, because they are based on the Bible — nothing more, nothing less. It’s unlike in other groups wherein they just invent some words, some doctrines.

I’ve long been listening [to Bro. Eliseo] since about 2006 on television, when I was just surfing channels.

Actually, I was sort of an atheist back then. But I believed Bro. Eli because he isn’t a hypocrite. He’s unlike others who just pretend to be holy. He really has basis in what he says.

—-

I used to ask a lot of questions about the world around me, about science, and I said, “There’s no God.”

As time passed however, the number of questions I had that weren’t being answered multiplied.

There are still many things that the people of the world do not know, and we will just arrive at the conclusion that there really is an Almighty Being, a God.

—-

For example, let’s ponder on this: Who makes the world go round? Science would credit it to the gravitational pull of other planets.

But where did gravity come from? Who makes the sun shine? They will say evolution. But from whom did the heat of the sun originate? So we will reach the conclusion that there is God.

Then, there’s the DNA, the chromosomes, the tiny bits of matter that we see. But the structure of the chromosomes is so intelligently done. Can man do that?

—-

How about us? How did we come about to be here on this earth? Did we program ourselves to be here or did we come to exist here because of our will to be alive?

We can’t even choose what our desired race would be. We just turned out to be Filipinos, [we can’t even choose] to be born poor or rich.

Fathoming many things, we will really just conclude that Someone truly created us. There really is God.

—-

Since I was an atheist before, I told myself that I would just be good, that I would just do good.

I didn’t commit anything ill against my fellowmen, despite not believing in any god before. It’s because I would see many people [practicing religion], and I would just get irritated.

When my friends went to church, they would attend mass just to look at girls; then they’d go out afterwards. It just seemed wrong. I didn’t confront them about it though.

They would go to mass only on Christmas, on simbang gabi. When they would have to make efforts to wake up before daybreak they would go, but not on the weekly mass. Things like that.

—-

I heard Bro. Eli as I was surfing channels then. Actually, I already knew Bro. Eli even before that.

When I tuned in to UNTV, someone asked him, “I’m kind and do good. Will I be saved?”

Bro. Eli said, and I’m paraphrasing here, “If you lived in a cave and God was not introduced to you, you can be saved. But if you learned about God and then you rejected Him, that would still count as sin to you despite you’re doing good because you rejected Him.”

I then thought, “Oh no! He’s right. It’s sensible.” I consider Bro. Eli as an authority because his sole basis is the Bible. He doesn’t invent things, not his own philosophy, but the [righteousness] that is in the Bible. That’s it. Thanks be to God that I got baptized.

On Being Baptized

You’ll remember all the sins that you have committed, and it will just bring tears to your eyes. Then, after being immersed in the water, you feel like you’re a new person.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

To Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, many thanks for the words [of God] that you bring to many people: Not only to Filipinos, but to everyone in the whole world who needs spiritual education. Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel are really a great help to us.

I hope that you will continue your works, and that you may have good health as well, especially to Bro. Eli as he is getting old.

Before, when I watched Bro. Eli on TV, he was still young. Now… I just really wish them good health, and that all the brethren be kept safe.

Sis. Naning Paz, 31, Former Catholic, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

It’s because the way Bro. Eli teaches the doctrines that come from the Lord is well.

My boyfriend was first to become a member. He was baptized just last November. Then, he always brought me with him every time he attended worship services.

I think it was in November when he brought me to a [Thanksgiving] service the Saturday after he got baptized. I felt drawn to listen continually until I finished the indoctrination.

On Being Baptized

It feels light inside, like all your worries in life are gone.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope they will continue preaching and leading people to join the Church.

~o~

Sis. Marilyn Alpuerto, 40, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I heard them [Bro. Eliseo and Bro. Daniel] in 2008. There was a sister in faith, our neighbor, who invited me here. But I only got enlightened about it when I attended the indoctrination.

She has long been inviting me. Whenever there are Church services, she would invite me, like in the [recently concluded] three-day event. After that, I underwent indoctrination in April.

My children and I are all devout Catholics. My two sons are altar boys, and my daughter is a choir member. I have three children.

Then in recent years, my children would always ask, “Why is it like that?” There were many questions, so we investigated first.

What I have heard from [the indoctrination] are really good, and I somehow gained knowledge in the Bible, because there’s nothing like it in Catholicism.

On Being Baptized

I was happy and nervous at the same time. I can’t explain why.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m very thankful for what we have learned and heard from them.

~o~

Sis. Elsie Carillo, 17, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I know this to be the true Church that’s why I joined here.

My aunt is already a member. Then, she would invite me [to Church services], and I would attend the KNC [Kawan ng Corder or Flock of the Lamb].

Then, my KNC-mates already attended the indoctrination last time, so I decided to follow suit.

I just noticed that it’s different in other religions. Then, I heard Bro. Eli. That’s when I knew that this is the true Church, so I joined.

On Being Baptized

When I was being asked [by the baptizer], I was crying. I’m happy that I’m finally here in the true Church.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that Bro. Eli will always be in good health. I’m thankful to God that he was the one used by Him to preach to us.

Bro. Louie Enriquez, 40, Former Born Again Christian, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

I feel and see that the teachings of Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel are true.

My father has long been a [member], for more than 10 years now. I got to live with him recently and he encouraged me [to listen to Bro. Eli].

It was about two months ago when I attended. The last time, I was supposed to be baptized, but I wasn’t able to go on with it. Perhaps the Lord did not will yet for me [to be baptized].

I already finished the indoctrination sessions then. But maybe there just wasn’t yet the calling; I was still reflecting on things. Then one day, I felt it, and told the [deacons] about it. So they assisted me and I got through to the baptism.

On Being Baptized

I felt both nervousness and happiness. After I was immersed, I felt happy. I used to have ill feelings [laughs]. But after that, no more.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will be stronger, and may they continue to spread the Good News. That’s all.

Sis. Areej Gabrielle Rollon, 17, Former Catholic, Romblon Province

On Joining the Church of God

From constantly listening to Bro. Eli’s Bible Expo, I felt something [urging] me to join here. Also, it’s because of mama. It was about two or three years ago [when she became a member].

My youngest sibling is a KNC [Kawan ng Corder or Flock of the Lamb]. I heard about this when I was about 15 years old.

My mother would bring me to the locale near us in the province. I think it was a Thanksgiving service [that I attended]; the one that happens weekly.

The doctrines will really melt your heart because you’ll hear the right [teachings], not the adulterated ones from my previous [religion]; I was a Catholic before.

On Being Baptized

I feel so happy. It’s like “I’m finally here. I’m a new person again.” It’s really just so… I can’t explain it.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Thanks to them because it’s from them that I heard the true doctrine. I hope that they will continue bringing the word of God to all men, that many more youths like me may join here.

~o~

Sis. Krisha Teopinto, 18, Former KNC, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been hearing Bro. Eli because of my parents. Also, I was a KNC before. And I’ve known that my parents are in the right Church from my childhood. That’s why I joined here.

When I was in third year high school, I stopped in the KNC. I returned lately. From then on, I always listened in Prayer Meetings, Worship Services, and Thanksgivings. I also attended ITGs [International Thanksgivings to God].

On Being Baptized

It’s different, like the feeling is so light. Before I was immersed, it felt like I had a lot of burdens. It was heavy to bear. But when I got out of the water, I felt happy. I felt light, like all my problems have been gone.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope they won’t tire in proclaiming the word of God, and may the Lord keep them.

~o~

Sis. Norma Parico, 57, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

This is the only way to… I want for my life to change. I believe that my life will be better.

My former life … It’s because in Catholicism, I had no peace of mind. I just kept attending mass, but I never learned anything about the Bible. [But] I saw it in the Bible Exposition. That’s where I learned it. And it’s all right.

Before, I worked in Parañaque. What happened was I couldn’t commit to always watching [The Old Path] as we always had work. Then, there’s overtime; we we’re not allowed to not go overtime. Our supervisor gets angry when we leave work.

—-

But one time, I attended there. My daughter, my youngest, is really active here in The Old Path [the Church of God International].

My daughter told me, “Ma, you’re with age already. You need to be in a [good place]. I already became a member.” I then told her, “Don’t worry my child, we’ll get to that point someday.” Of course, I already got focused on that.

With God’s mercy, our dream finally came true. Two more members of our household are not yet Church members. I have an eldest child, and my teenage son who is in Taiwan right now. I will encourage them both [with God’s help and mercy].

On Being Baptized

I felt relieved as I had many problems, especially with my children. But I felt that I got somewhat comforted with that as well, like I obtained peace of mind.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

My message to Bro. Eli is, may he have a longer life that he may be able to guide many more brethren, that he may lead other Christians lost [in the world]. I hope that he may be able to help many more people.

~o~

Sis. Melchora Delos Santos, 47, Former Born Again, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I was searching a place where my soul would be strengthened. And it was like I was so hungry for righteousness, for living the right way. I heard Bro. Eli’s teaching and I got enlightened.

I have friends who led me here. Ten years ago, someone invited me, but my mind was still closed. I was still in the Born Again then; I still lived in sin.

Then, the Lord gave me many trials: Our business went bankrupt; my father had a stroke. He removed every comfort in our lives.

Our wealth really [dissipated]; our comfortable life was gone. I really felt down; there were many difficulties, sufferings. So that’s when I started searching for the Lord.

—-

I wish that I had heard [Bro. Eli’s teachings] long ago, so that my family would not have experienced the devastation and suffering that we went through.

I sinned, committed adultery and unfaithfulness; I made a great transgression against the will of the Lord. If only I had known Him then.

I didn’t know Him in the Born Again, and that was since 1986 in De La Salle University; I was still a student. It’s because the teachings there aren’t complete. It wasn’t able to make me righteous. That’s why I erred.

If only I was able to lead my family [to good], they wouldn’t have sinned, and we wouldn’t have suffered like this.

On Being Baptized

I’m happy. I felt light inside, and also had that feeling of knowing that you have been forgiven by the Lord. Even I couldn’t forgive myself with the wrong things I’ve done, so it’s like I got free from bondage.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, I hope that I had heard your teachings back then. I wish that I had met you early on.

When I was in high school, I saw around Taft Ave. a Church of God. It got imprinted in my mind, but I didn’t give any attention to it…

I really wish that back then, I had… I’m really greatly thankful that I was able to push through now in knowing [the teachings]. I hope that I will be able to serve, as I really want to be able to serve the Lord.

~o~

Sis. Camille Leong, 18, Former KNC, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

Of course, I was a KNC before. But now, the reason why I got baptized is because I [felt] that I was being called to join, formally.

On Being Baptized

I feel like I’m floating. I feel light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May the Lord continue to guide them in the ministry. May they be given more strength that they may be able to help people more.

~o~

Bro. Francis Suriaga, 41, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I want to have a new life, and for me to be also saved from damnation. So when judgment day comes, I have hope in salvation.

It was my cousin who was first to be a member of Ang Dating Daan [the Church of God International], and he told us that [it’s] good.

Now, my father saw The Old Path on TV. He then said that it was good. The time soon came when both of us would watch it, until my parents got baptized first…

The doctrines are good because you’ll learn everything. I was formerly a Catholic, and I went to mass. But then I thought, “I’ve long been going to mass, but still I didn’t know a single thing about the Bible.”

So it’s only now with Bro. Eli that I learned everything: All [the doubts], the questions in your heart will be answered. I also found out what [a person] must do, and what he needs for him to be able to  control himself.

On Being Baptized

I felt happy inside, that feeling wherein you have no burden at all. It’s unlike before when my heart seemed to bear many heavy loads. But now, it doesn’t anymore.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Of course I’m thankful for Bro. Eli because he teaches every good thing. Also, he is a faithful preacher.

Bro. Wilson Escalora, 58, Former Baptist, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I’ve long been idle in religion. After I became a Baptist, I stopped and didn’t attend anymore in the Baptist church. I was idle for ten years or so, as I was searching [for the truth]. Then, I realized that The Old Path [the Church of God International] was better, based on the [teachings] that I was hearing on television.

It was in about the Year 2000 [when I heard Bro. Eli] on television. When I left the Baptist church, that was when I started watching Bro. Eli. Actually, The Old Path was sometimes criticized in the Baptist Church.

I had neighbors who listened to The Old Path, and they told me that it was good, so I listened as well. That’s when it started. When he [preaches] on TV, it’s the verses of the Bible that he reads in answering all the questions that people ask him. He answers from the Bible, so I saw that the teaching was right.

On Being Baptized

I felt very light, like I was relieved of the burden, the extra baggage that I had. In life, we have many things that burden us. So when I was baptized, and even during the indoctrination, I learned a lot that made me feel very light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

My only message for Bro. Eli is that he may be in good health, that his life may be longer, that he may not be sick that he may be able to lead many more people in service to the Lord.

On Joining the Church of God

My parents have [long] wanted me to become a member, only there was a hindrance. But I forgot and fought that hindrance that I may be a member of the Church of God.

The doctrines I heard have nothing lacking, no deceit; [they’re] in the Bible. All the answers [to people’s questions] are in the Bible.

On Being Baptized

I felt light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that the Lord above may keep them, and for Him to lengthen their lives that they may be able to help many more people.

~o~

Bro. Fidel Felipe, 40, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I joined the Church of God because I learned the teachings of Bro. Eli and Kuya Daniel. Also, with other religions, I didn’t see these kinds of activities and brotherly concern, lifting [each other’s] heavy loads, only with Bro. Eli’s.

I’ve long been listening to Bro. Eli, since 1994… I even saw his live debates; Kuya was still in Channel 2 then.

It was only recently that I took this opportunity. I told myself that I don’t want it to be too late for me [to join]. So here I am, and I have a new life.

On Being Baptized

When I got baptized, I felt really light, like everything – my errors, my sins – have all been buried. So this is me now.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that he will be given a very long life, and may he just disregard whatever bad thing that people throw at him. Thanks be to God

~o~

Bro. Alfejan Bayo, 29 Former Born Again, Cavite Province
On Joining the Church of God

When I was still in the Born Again, there were unexpected events that happened in my life: Problems piled up; I got into an accident at work; but firstly, my parents got hit by Typhoon Yolanda.

After that, less than a month in my new job and I had an accident wherein I broke a bone. But the heaviest to bear was when my baby was born prematurely, just 6.5 months old. That’s when I decided to seek the true righteousness of the Lord.

—-

When I was in the Born Again I liked [attending] Bible studies, and it just so happened that one of my workmates aboard our ship is a member of the Church of God.

One time, he invited me to watch a Bible Exposition. “Brother, just try and see this. You won’t lose anything should you listen to it,” he said. That was the first time I saw Bro. Eli on a Bible Exposition on TV, as I didn’t watch programs like it before.

My shipmate brought Bible Exposition episodes with him on his hard drive. We just watched it together one time, and that’s when the Word got through to me. Of course, when you read the Bible, you already have a background of the words there.

He asked me, “What do you think of what you’ve heard here as compared to that of your previous religion? What is the difference?” I replied, “The difference is great because here, he explains what is really according to the Bible and not from his own thoughts.”

—-

Afterwards he told me, “Just continue listening; I have some more [Bible Expositions] here; you can copy them if you wish.” I said, “Sure, I’ll copy it.” And that’s how I began listening and watching Bro. Eli’s [program] daily. Even if it were just the questions of other people, I understood it more because he explains clearly.

My shipmate told me to try the indoctrination sessions when I get home, because he went home first. “Just continue with it and see if it will have a change [in you]. Should you see something wrong with it, then at least you tried,” he said. I agreed and told him that I would go to [the locale] when I disembark.

Coincidentally, the locale was just near our home, so that’s how it started. I said, “This is different. The doctrines that other religions preach is different from here, because they add and take away many things, unlike here wherein what is written in the Bible will be taught to you step-by-step; they [Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel] hide nothing. Whether you accept it or not, they will preach it.

On Being Baptized

Well, it felt light. It’s actually my first time to be baptized. When I was in the Born Again, my baptism would always be put off. Perhaps, the reason why that baptism didn’t push through was because I would really be here.

I started in 2006 [in the Born Again]. I got onboard our ship in 2006, so their schedule of baptism ended up having conflict [with my availability]. Their teaching is different from the truth.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May they continue their preaching, that many more people will be enlightened. We will continue praying for them both, that their lives may be longer, that many more may know the doctrines, that the brotherhood which the Lord formed may be kept and increase the more, and that [the doctrines] won’t be replaced by those of men.

~o~

Bro. Leovir Rama, 31, Former Pentecostal Church Member, Davao City

On Joining the Church of God

Firstly, I thank the Lord because I became a member.

I was searching, I was assessing who [the preacher] is who bears the truth. Of course, it wasn’t going to be easy as there were many trials alongside it; not to mention, the persecution of different people.

Then, I was also being swayed by different vices. I tried hard to separate myself from such, but sometimes, I would still give in.

—-

Now as I was by my lonesome outside [our house], I told myself, “What will happen to me?” because I was feeling the signs that God said, that the end is near…

That’s why I always asked God, “Lord, if You will come, please take me with You; I might be left behind. I just want to know who bears the true doctrine.”

That was really the question that I always asked myself: Who bears the true teaching? It’s because almost everyone that I have heard [preaching] claim that they are such. At that point [of my searching], I heard Bro. Eli, and the difference is great.

Someone gave an invitation at our place [to the indoctrination sessions]. Though it wasn’t my first time [to hear Bro. Eliseo] as I heard him before on TV in Davao. Everything that he says is biblical. He doesn’t digress from it. I really don’t see anything that is against it [the Bible].

On Being Baptized

I felt like crying when I was asked, “Are you ready?” There were questions [by the baptizer] that really got through to me. I wanted to cry a while ago in the pool; I just contained it.

The questions [were poignant] for me as I have somehow a deep understanding about the doctrines, so I was happy because it’s a new life [for me].

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

My message for Bro. Eli is that may he continue preaching. He’s the one elected to preach; he cannot refrain from doing so. And it’s because it’s a good sign of salvation to all.

~o~

Bro. Adrian Tagle, 35, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

Before, when I was still a teenager… I felt that I had God in my life, like He was always there by my side. It’s like I got everything I asked for.

One time however, when my friends and I were going to Tagaytay, we were one man too many for the van [we rented]. Though I was already inside the vehicle, I decided not to join them as I also had an exam the next day.

I then called one of my friends who felt bad [that he was the one to not be able to go with us]. When he came, they were the ones who went to Tagaytay. The following day, I learned that they got into an accident; almost all of them were dead. So I said, “It’s like Someone saved me.”

—-

Time passed by. Then one time, my mother had stroke. I couldn’t do anything; I felt weak, as if I was losing hope.

I called [to God], and said, “Heal my mother and I will give my life to You. I will have faith in You.” My mother became better, but that time, I wasn’t able to fulfill my [promise] to Him.

Days went by and I told myself that I need to [return unto God]. I converted to the INC [Iglesia ni Cristo]. So I remained there for almost three years; I got baptized there. But in the end, I felt that there was no change, especially in my being.

I became a Catholic again. Then as time progressed, I had vices; we drank, smoked, and gambled daily. My mother and wife were reprimanding me already, and I even lost my job. I was also feeling pity for my child.

—-

Thankfully, I have a friend who is a member here, and we were able to talk to each other. I felt that I had a place in my mind and heart again for Him. That’s when I decided to [return to Him].

Actually, there have been many times that I have somehow let Him down as I have started with the indoctrination before, but didn’t finish it. It seems like there were many hindrances.

But now, this is the opportunity [given to me] for me to finish it, so I strove to see it through. And that’s when I proved that the words of God that Bro. Eli preaches go straight into my heart.

When you hear it, you will really have fear of the Lord. Your mind will be enlightened. You will learn to [respect] the word of God, especially the Bible. That’s why I joined.

On Being Baptized

Truthfully, I felt afraid at first. I didn’t know what was going to happen. I didn’t know if I would be able to obey the [commandments].

However, since I have been baptized, and as I hear new doctrines, I feel I’m getting used to resisting [evil] and that I can be strong about it. That’s how I feel.

When the song, “Faithful Preachers”, was being sung, I cried because I felt God, like He’s just there, and His Spirit.

Actually, I can’t explain it; I really can’t. I don’t know what I’m feeling. But now, it’s like I’m peaceful inside and it’s only now that I felt light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many thanks that you are there. You’ll be able to open many minds and hearts in believing in the word of God, and you’ll be able to teach many to have faith in it.

Sis. Leovigilda Cronico, 68, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I discovered many wrong doctrines with my former religion. I’ve been with this religion practically for 68 years, since birth.

And I went to Catholic school in Nueva Vizcaya from Grade 1, from kindergarten even until college. It’s a Catholic school so religion, everything is taught… religion is taught every grade, every year.

So when I heard over the radio the Bible Expositions, the questions and answers, I realized [many things]. Then one time, I heard “Thou shalt not bow down to [graven images]…”

—-

I have a grandfather during the 80s, about 1986, and he said, “You go to mass?” We replied, “Yes, grandfather.” [Speaks Ilocano] “Thou shalt not bow down to anything made by man, natikitikan [graven] by the hands of man,” he said. It was instilled in my mind. I asked, “Is it like that?”

When I was in school: College, high school, elementary, what was instilled in our minds was that we cannot take hold or read the Bible. The only ones who can read the Bible are those belonging to the religious orders like the priest, the nuns.

So I didn’t know that. And then, I gradually… I think it was only in the last week of February this year [that] I got to always listen to the questions and answers [in Bible Expositions]. Then, I would look [for the verses mentioned] in the Bible, and I would see them there.

—-

One of the activities we had in high school was confession. We would confess every Thursday afternoon, then go to mass every Friday. All schools had that as I went to a Catholic school. So I said, “Those were frequent.”

Another thing I disliked was the mass. I said, “It seems wrong.” Also, receiving the communion; I didn’t like that as well, even doing the sign of the cross. Then, there’s walking towards the altar on your knees, and kissing the idols. It seemed against my will. It’s against my conscience for me to do such.

I then told my housemate, “Look for Ang Dating Daan [The Old Path],” when there was a [TV invitation] for indoctrination: On March 13, we are inviting you to join the Mass Indoctrination. “Rose, let’s go there. Ask where it is,” I told her.

The first time she went out, she didn’t find the [locale] in Marulas. I told her, “You lack skills in searching.” So I went with her, and we found it…

On Being Baptized

It feels okay. I feel light now. I am in the right religion. I am on the right way to God. We’re on the right path already. That’s what I really feel.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, we are very thankful; I am very thankful that I heard His words. Maybe, it’s because God has given me the graces, and perhaps due also to the prayers of the members; they prayed that people may find their way to His heart, to God’s heart, to God’s Church. I hope that many more will come.

Sis. Rowena Caballero, 30, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

I was encouraged by my husband; he didn’t force me though. I saw the change in his life, how he had acquired faith.

He’s just a new member, about one year or going on two years old [in the Church]. He stopped with his vices; his life views have changed. His smart-aleck attitude also changed.

With him, it started when he met a brother-in-faith on board a ship. That’s when it started for him. When he returned home, he was already listening [to Bro. Eliseo], and he invited us to listen through television.

We were former Catholics. But as I was growing up, [I leaned] towards becoming a Born Again member, but I never got baptized. I used to encourage him [her husband] to the Born Again, but with God’s mercy, he ended up being here first.

On Being Baptized

I can’t explain it. I felt like I was nervous that I was just crying.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful because they became the way for me to [become a member]. I have long been looking for the truth, investigating religions. And in doing so, I made the decision to be baptized here.

Bro. Benjie Arias, 39, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I was able to listen to the Bible Exposition [on UNTV]. As I was looking for something to watch, I noticed Bro. Eli’s program.

It caught my attention because the way of teaching is different because he reads it [from the Bible], unlike with other pastors wherein the listener cannot ask them questions.

It’s like it is already programmed [or scripted with others], but with Bro. Eli, he even answers simple-minded questions. That’s what convinced me that what he says is true. He has an explanation for everything, and that’s what drew me here.

—-

I know someone from our place, as I am from Mindanao, [who is a member here]. Then, I remembered one of my batch mates [in high school], Bro. Rey, is also a member here. It was him who I called [to ask about this religion]. He then endorsed me to a locale nearest our place in Gatbuca in Capalangan through Bro. Freddie Dono.

I have only completed this [the indoctrination] now; it should have been a long time ago already. The reason was always work. Also, I attended to my papers for working abroad. With God’s mercy, it’s like He willed for me to [become a member] in this organization, in this brotherhood.

Actually, the first time I told my wife about this, she didn’t want to believe in it. Of course, there’s the truth that there are religions that are just for money; that’s still her belief.

We’re all Catholics  on my wife’s side and on ours, we’re all Catholics. So when I mentioned about this, she told me not [to join] as I would just be deceived. They [his family] wouldn’t listen to me. So I just keep on praying that they will be able to see what I was able to see, that they may be enlightened as well.

On Being Baptized

It’s like I felt light, like I was at ease; I felt light inside.

Actually, I was feeling tired as I was excited last night. I feel tired and want to sleep, [but] it’s like a thorn has been pulled from me; I feel relieved.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

With Bro. Eli, I hope he continues this ministry, and the same with Bro. Daniel. May God give them more protection that their preaching which I also believed in may [reach countless others].

For us who were taught teachings from the Bible, we will do our [part]; more especially so on my end, I will do my participation [with God’s help and mercy]. Perhaps, what I can only do is to contribute financially when I have some, as well as to other brethren who [have none], as it’s also his [Bro. Eli’s] teaching that everything comes from Him.

Bro. Efren Ragodon Jr., 26, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

The teachings are really written in the Bible. I really can’t explain [my feelings about it]. I was able to listen to various religions, but here [the doctrines] seem to convince your heart.

It’s like there’s something telling you that it’s the truth; it’s like that. I guess that’s what they say as the calling of God.

My father [got interested] on the Bible Expositions. That’s why he always [follows it] on TV and on radio. Of course, [we couldn’t] watch other programs on TV as we would come home with it on. So his [Bro. Eliseo] words got imprinted in my mind and in my heart. I was assessing whether it was true or not, and I proved it to be true.

On Being Baptized

It’s different. It’s like all the [shadows of doubt] have turned to light, and I feel unburdened.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

More blessings and more power. I hope that this kind of ministry may continue that many to be lead unto righteousness.
