Sis. Nelia Sambajon, 41, Former Catholic, Bataan Province

On Joining the Church of God

It’s because it’s good, and I really liked it.

I’ve been listening for a long time, since about a few months now. His [Bro. Eliseo] answers are truly from the Bible. He is able to answer every question properly.

I was actually excited [to hear the doctrines]. I was really excited to the point that I couldn’t sleep. It was a joyful experience.

On Being Baptized

I felt relieved and light. I felt that my sins and ill feelings were fully washed away. I felt happy because finally, I’m [now] a member of the true religion.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I wish you good luck as what you preach is really good. I hope that you will continue doing so.

Sis. Pastora Cudal, 30, Former Catholic, Isabela Province

On Joining the Church of God

Out of all the religions I’ve been to, it’s only here in the Church of God wherein I got enlightened and had a good mind that understands what is good. [It began] when I started listening to Bro. Eli…

Well, I’ve been to all religions already, but at the end of the day I still didn’t feel content. Also, my attitude was still the same. Sometimes I would get irritated and I didn’t know why.

As it turns out, it was just a natural result of being anxious, and that what I really just needed was faith.

On Being Baptized

I feel good with God’s help and mercy. It’s a very pleasant feeling.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many, many thanks to God for He gave us an instrument like Bro. Eli who preaches the truth.

~o~

Sis. Celsa Galing, 45, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

Even on the first time we heard the preaching, we saw that what they were saying was good, and that was seven years ago.

Our brother in Canada, Bro. Crisanto Galing, was the first to become a member. When he came home for vacation, he told us about this.

I told him that we watched and listened [to Bro. Eliseo] on TV. So he took us to the locale.

On Being Baptized

It’s different. I can’t understand the feeling. I just felt light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that their preaching will continue despite many hindrances. I hope that they will still be there to teach what’s right.

~o~

Sis. Ludivina Aragay, 59, Former Catholic, Bataan Province

On Joining the Church of God

My husband told me, “Maybe you would like to join?” I replied, “Surely I will. There’s nothing wrong with that.”

Whenever I remember that, I cry because he just died [of lung cancer] this August of 2015. He was just one-month old in the Church.

I said to him before he died, “I will continue what you have started. No problem.”

– – – – –

He told me that he was certain where he was headed. And I’m glad that he knew already. “I know where I’m going,” he said.

He also advised us to not have a wake for him, but that he should be buried straightaway.

I told them that that’s what he wanted. I didn’t want to disobey him as that’s what would make him happy.

On Being Baptized

Relieved. I felt that my doubts were gone, then happy afterwards. We’re all happy people here, that’s what I felt.

As my children said, “Mom, if you’re happy there, then we won’t stop you.” They understand.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will continue what they started, and I hope that until the end, I will be here with Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel.

To God be the glory

Newly Baptized Testimonials: July 31, 2015

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on July 31, 2015 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Sis. Paula Batan, 16, Former KNC, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I got encouraged to join as well because I study in La Verdad Christian College.

It’s because this is where I saw the true Church that the Bible speaks of. Also, I really felt that I can avoid the things that I mustn’t do, which I really liked doing back then. It’s like I have accepted that truth already.

I was surprised at myself as I wasn’t like that before, even when it comes to apparel. I can now dress like this [wearing modest apparel], and go out of the house without makeup. It’s a different feeling; I don’t know why! [Laughs]

I also talked to my classmate who was a Church Worker. She explained to me, “When you already feel it, don’t dilly-dally anymore as Bro. Eli said.”

On Being Baptized

I was crying and crying back there. It’s like in the movies when everything I have done came flashing back to me. And now, I’m here, on this moment that I have been waiting for.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Thanks be to God because if I hadn’t known them, I wouldn’t have learned the things I now know. My mind was enlightened to the truths that aren’t being taught by preachers in false churches.

~o~

Bro. Godofredo Calinog, 47, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

Before, I didn’t believe in the Lord. However, I also had a sickness before; I thought I was going to die. I promised the Lord then that I would serve Him. I made a vow.

I vomited repeatedly. My whole body soon felt weak, and I was dizzy. Actually, I just avoided the doctor [after seeing him] so that I could just recuperate at home. It happened only last year. I’m thankful that my physique has returned.

Our housemate and our son have long been members. [Our son] resides in Manila, but he came here to us in Pampanga.

They invited my wife first. Then, when they invited me as well, I willingly went with them. Now, we have only one faith in the Lord.

On Being Baptized

I felt light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope they will continue their good aspirations and duties in the Lord.

~o~

Sis. Jessabelle Pastor, 21, Former Foursquare Gospel Church Member, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

This is where I found peace in my heart.

I have already been to different churches, and then lately, my friend invited me. I went with him, and that’s when I saw that it’s different here. It’s different in the Church of God.

Actually, he’s just new in the Church. He has just been recently baptized, and he was just invited to the Church as well by his workmate.

We learned so many teachings that we didn’t learn from the churches we formerly belonged to.

There are many teachings that we must all remember, and keep in our hearts and minds that we may not sin against God.

On Being Baptized

I felt that all the weight I carried on my chest were gone. It’s like you’re not thinking of any problem, but that you just have a new life.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

My message for Bro. Eli is that may he continue the good works he does, and lead many more people like me to return unto the old path.

~o~

Bro. Edgar Dela Fuente, 43, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

The teachings in the Church of God are good.

At first, I listened only through radio, on Don Manolo Favis’ program. Then later on, I also watched on television.

Actually, I think it has taken me ten years before I came to this day that I have been baptized.

I hear the teachings that he [Bro. Eliseo] says, that the end of this world is drawing near. So I told myself, “I need to hurry that I may not be too late.” What he says really fit what is now happening in this age.

On Being Baptized

I felt chills after I got out of the water.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that The Old Path will continue that many more people will be lead unto this Church.

~o~

Bro. Romeo and Sis. Estrellita Empleo, 59 & 61, Former Catholics, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

Bro. Romeo: We can’t find the answers in our minds to this, but perhaps in our hearts. We were perhaps searching for something.

We were from Catholicism, from different religions even: Bread of Life, Word for the World, Word of Hope. Then by chance, we were able to listen to Bro. Eli Soriano on television as he was mentioned as well by my sibling who watches him.

He’s not a member though. But then every time my brothers and sisters and I would gather and talk about the Bible’s verses, my brother who listens to Bro. Eli is different.

As we listened [to my brother speak] as seekers of truth, it struck us as peculiar because we didn’t hear those things from other congregations and that we weren’t really learned when it comes to the Bible. But with him, the teachings that he shared with us are from the verses that Bro. Eli flashes on the TV screen.

—–

So from thereon, I felt I was challenged. One time, I saw him [Bro. Eliseo] on TV, and I felt drawn to the program. “It’s good,” I said.

The things I was hearing, I could read in the Bible. Because before, I used to only hear [verses] from what pastors relayed to us, but I found that what they say is not what is exactly meant [by the verses] as when I heard them from Bro. Eli as he explained them on television and radio.

So that’s when I started; I felt encouraged to listen from thereon. I would tune in to it from time to time, whenever I was available. It’s like I got hooked to it.

—–

Later on, my wife was onboard as well. I didn’t invite them [his family] or what. I just set the radio on as he preached the Bible.

[At first] they were able to listen only by chance, like whenever they would pass by. But it wasn’t yet in their hearts.

Perhaps, there are verses that are meant for us, wherein your heart will be touched or you’ll say, “Ouch.” It’s when you’ll see, through Bro. Eli’s reading of the Bible that [others’ teachings] are really just sayings of men, baseless, untrue.

——

Until the time came for me, perhaps the Lord has also made me understand already, that the truth is indeed the word of God, nothing else.

I also learned how to stick to [what is written]. You must not add nor take away anything from it. The Bible, as it turns out, according to Isa. 34:16, is already complete and doesn’t need any other reference.

We used to see our brother as someone weird, but then, we became united in opinions eventually. During our Bible Study, we would unite in what is right, like what the Bible says: You have one Spirit, one song, one Lord, one God, one Church, one teaching.

If only pastors would base their teachings, and would not add nor take away anything from what is written, but would all be based in the Bible, perhaps we will not be in strife.

Sis. Estrellita: They are really God’s words. It’s like our hearts were the target, and it went right into it.

Bro. Romeo: I didn’t force you, didn’t I?

Sis. Estrellita: No. I just said, “I want to come with you. I want to listen personally.” I told him that on TV and radio, it’s like he’s jumping from one topic to another because he is answering whatever it is that people asked him.

But when we started with [the indoctrination], I said, “Please take me with you.” So I went with him. That’s when I understood that what Bro. Eli says is so beautiful. It’s like a step-by-step teaching.

Bro. Romeo: The biggest question we had regarding religion, the Bible answered. We have no doubts now. They were all answered by the holy words of God.

On Being Baptized

Bro. Romeo: It felt so good. In other words, I felt fulfilled.

Sis Estrellita: Yes, it was amazing! I said, “What is this? It’s really different.” It felt like I was walking on air after getting out of the water. I said, “What a wonderful feeling.” [Giggles]

Before [immersion], I was feeling a number of things,s my stomach even ached. I told him that perhaps I might go to the restroom. After I got immersed in the water, it became okay. I said, “Wow, this is okay!”

Bro. Romeo: That’s what I heard from Bro. Eli. Whenever he was attending, despite not feeling well, he said that right after baptism or any Church gathering, the sickness goes away; you feel lighter. Though it may not be totally gone, you feel like it’s lessened.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Sis. Estrellita: Bro. Eli, keep on doing the things that you do now. We pray for you, that your life will be longer, because you are able to help many people and their minds are enlightened by the word of God.

The same goes for Bro. Daniel. He is very well; both of them are. So, many, many thanks to them, because at the least, our minds were enlightened unto the Lord through them.

Bro. Romeo: I share the same sentiments for Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel. What is said in Daniel Chapter 12, that in the last days, the wise shall understand the word of God, but the wicked shall not.

You are but wise men, Bro. Eli, foremostly, compared to all the pastors that before persecuted him and told that [the Church] is a cult.

But the way I see it now, as Bro. Eli said, “If we are Christians, we should be different from them from the inside, out. That’s what I saw now.

That’s why, sometimes, they laugh at us because we’re not luxurious. We don’t follow the course of the world, which is in the Bible: That we should not conform but be transformed according to the will of God that Bro. Eli teaches. Many thanks to you.

Long live, and may he give you many more believers whose lives you will touch. The same with you Bro. Daniel Razon, many, many thanks. To God be the Glory.

To God be the glory

Newly Baptized Testimonials: June 26, 2015

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on June 26, 2015 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Sis. Michelle Taboy, 15, Former KNC, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

For me, I really behaved badly towards my siblings, and I wanted to change.

I was a KNC [Kawan ng Cordero or Flock of Lambs], and I was always in the locale. When there’s a Bible Exposition, I would be there. Then sometimes, we watched [The Old Path] on television.

On Being Baptized

I felt that I have repented of all of my sins. I felt very light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli, I’m thankful because if it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have been able to hear the doctrines. For Bro. Daniel, I’m thankful because he’s always there to assist Bro. Eli.

~o~

Sis. Linda Remanes, 26, Former Catholic, Manila

At the age of 26, I had already experienced difficulties in life. We started out poor, and even until now.

However, I realized that we need God in our lives, because there are times when the strength we have won’t prove enough.

[We watched The Old Path] ever since we had a black and white TV. Then later on, we listened on radio we listened on as well.

On TV, it was on Channel 37, and even then when it was on Channel 13, we tuned in. Though we didn’t watch regularly.

—-

Until my father began listening religiously on radio. Whenever I would visit him, I was able to listen to it as well.

Then in 2008, God willed that my sister be baptized. Last year, I was able to attend thanksgivings and worship services regularly. I needed to assist my older sister as she had a severe illness.

Since then, we experienced that. I asked, “Is this a trial of God for her?” Or perhaps, it wasn’t only for her, but for our whole family?

—-

And now I became a member. God willed it, that He had mercy upon me to be joined unto the Church.

Actually I’ve long been told by [my sister] to join; though not forcibly. I did that by my own free will.

It was also because I felt ashamed somehow. I already regularly attended Church services; I was already able to hear teachings, and somehow, even then, they were able to go straight to my heart. I really felt it and that I needed it. I need God in times when we can’t do anything about it.

On Being Baptized

From the first day until the seventh day of [indoctrination], and every time I prayed, I pitied myself and felt ashamed; I always cried during prayer — in both the opening and closing prayers.

When the [baptizer] asked me if until my last breath I would obey the will of God, that I would observe His commandments, until then, I was crying.

But after I got immersed in the water, I felt so light inside. It was like I was lifted. I felt that I was floating in the water.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli, I’m thankful because if it weren’t for him, if he wasn’t guided by God, perhaps, I wouldn’t be the only one who isn’t a member, perhaps, there would be the Church now or that it wouldn’t have increased as much.

To Bro. Daniel, I’m thankful because of his effort in mass broadcasting. He uses tri-media, and even [beyond] it.

It’s not just advertising, but promotions of [God’s words]. It’s not only via the Internet but also in other media. It helped for us, who didn’t know anything about God, to know about Him and He willed for us to be led unto the Church.

I hope that the Lord will continue to guide and bless them that they may be able to help many more people.

~o~

Sis. Gloria Olmedo, 48, Former Born Again Group Member, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I was searching in myself where I should be, because I have already received so many trials from the Lord.

I was told that the reason why He hasn’t yet taken me is because there’s a way He’s giving me that I haven’t gone to yet.

At the time that I was searching [for the Lord’s path], I met a brother-in-faith. He told me to join them.

They were passing by our street that’s why they saw me there. When I saw them, I asked if they had a church wherein I could go to.

I was really a Born Again, but I didn’t have any place to worship in our place. “Come with us.” So I went with them.

On Being Baptized

I felt light. It feels good because the presence of God is there, that He is the one guiding you. As He said, when you call on Him, He will answer. So there.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May they continue preaching to men that those who haven’t heard their preaching can do so.

~o~

Sis. Nita Dataro, 59, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

We feel that it’s very easy in our hearts for us to join here. We saw via television that the way Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel run things is good. That’s why we joined.

It has been about a year ago since my husband and I [first watched The Old Path]. We would watch and listen until late at night.

On Being Baptized

I really felt light and very happy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that their lives will be longer that many more people will join their service to God and in preaching sound righteousness.

~o~

Bro. Frederick Yonzon, 44, Former Born Again Group Member, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

It’s here where I saw and felt the truth. What Bro. Eli says is wisdom that isn’t his own but that which comes from the Father God.

I was able to listen [to Bro. Eliseo] on the UNTV Radio. It’s there where I listened nightly after my shift at work. Even as I go to sleep, that’s what I listen to.

I listened to the questions until midnight. Then on Saturdays and Sundays, I tune in to it as well.

I looked for one of the coordinating centers, and I found one. I continued from there.

—-

I’ve long been listening actually, ever since I was still in Taguig. I had a TV there and I always watched him.

Only, my religion then was the Born Again. But I was able to listen to him in the afternoon. Actually, I liked listening to him more.

When I moved to Cubao, I still listened to him. Even when my child got sick, it was still Bro. Eli whom I listened to.

I just really felt that I needed to get rid of the sins I’ve done, to change my life because I felt burdened already.

On Being Baptized

I felt light. I poured out there all my sins and [have forgiven] the sins of my siblings. It’s like I threw them away and buried them. It’s a new life.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I thank Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel. Because of their program, they are able to help many people.

Those souls who are seeking favor from God the Father are able to hear, even if they are in the outreaches of society, through satellite, through radio.

~o~

Sis. Sarah Ramos, 19, Former KNC, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

I felt the calling of God to me. I don’t want to dilly-dally anymore because I know that this is the true Church of God.

Ever since I was a kid, even before I was born, my parents have already been members of the Church. I grew up in the Church.

On Being Baptized

I felt cleansed of my sins.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Thanks be to God for Overall Servants like them. I hope that until the appearance of the Lord Jesus Christ, Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel will be in our midst.

~o~

Sis. Mary Grace Guinipaan, 17, Former Born Again Group Member, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Ever since I [heard] the doctrines of God, I felt that it was good. The teachings are from the Bible.

It’s unlike in other religions wherein they only say one verse. Bro. Eli really takes the time to teach us the teachings of God. The instruction is good; you will really learn.

I was able to listen just this year, and I continued doing so. I felt that it would be a waste if I didn’t grab the opportunity.

I told myself, “This teaching is good; I will continue with it.” I was told that there was a baptism, so I pursued that because the doctrine is good, and you have a chance at salvation.

On Being Baptized

It’s like we were washed with sacred water. Also, we feel happy because we’re going to be saved [if we will triumph with God’s help], and that our sins are gone. So thanks be to God.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May he continue bringing the teachings from the Bible to people that many more people on this earth to learn these things. I learned that the teachings are good.

I hope that he [Bro. Eli] will also take care of himself as he is already old. [[I believe] that God always takes care of him.

I hope that he doesn’t stop in helping people. Imagine, even his money, he doesn’t see it anymore. He really spends it all for people.

That’s why people are proud of him. That’s why people love him.

~o~

Sis. Machel Tejero, 20, Former Born Again Group Member, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

For me, it’s because the basis is really the Bible. Then, he also says, “What the Lord Jesus did is like this, like that.”

He also well explains everything that the Bible says. That’s why the people understand what the Lord Jesus Christ did, and that that is what we must do also.

My friend invited me to attend a Church service. At first, I was half-hearted. As I continued, I thought that I can be saved if I continue listening. Also, God knows what I felt, and that it could be changed when I get baptized.

On Being Baptized

I feel happy that I have been baptized and that my sins have been forgiven, and that we have returned to the Lord.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many thanks to Bro. Eli for sharing to the whole world the teachings of God.

Many people are able to change by listening to him, those people who are ready to change and serve God.

I hope he always takes care and may God constantly guide him. I hope that he heals from his sickness. May he be able to help and save many more people.

Sis. Jean Reyes, 16, Former KNC, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I felt that I was being called to join here.

My mother and father are both members. Papa already passed away. He became a member in 2004, while mama was in 2010.

[In the Kawan ng Cordero or KNC], what I cannot forget learning is Proverbs 22:6 which says: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

On Being Baptized

I felt so happy, and very light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope they will continue the good works they do, so they will be able to lead many more people like us.

~o~

Sis. Jude Lastrollo, 15, Former KNC, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Since I grew up in the Church and already know the teachings, I realized that I should become a member already.

Ever since daddy and mama became members, as well as my siblings, I have been in the KNC starting from a very young age.

All [the doctrines] are based in the Bible. Everything has an explanation. Also, whatever thing you wish to ask, Bro. Eli will be able to answer [through the Bible].

On Being Baptized

I felt super light, like I had no worries.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will be able to lead many more people to join here.

~o~

Sis. Myra Joy Bandarlipe, 16, Former KNC, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

I already know that the doctrines are true. Also, that I may be able to do works that I know will be for my own good.

My parents have long been members, and I would go with them [to Church services].

I felt enlightened ever so clearly. My knowledge about things I didn’t know before also increased.

On Being Baptized

I felt so light, like I was flying. And I didn’t feel any worries because all my past sins have already been forgiven.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Thanks be to God because He gave you to teach us.

~o~

Sis. Raquel Palad, 17, Former KNC, Pangasinan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I really wanted to, and because of my parents as well. Also, this is where I grew up.

On Being Baptized

At first, I couldn’t express what I was feeling. All I know is that I was happy. I can’t say anything except that I’m exceedingly happy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

All that Bro. Eli says are in the Bible. I hope that Bro. Eli will be able to come home because he’s long been there. We miss Bro. Eli already.

~o~

Sis. Mila Sumahit, 59, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I just wanted my sins to be forgiven, because in other religions, it’s different. Their teachings are really different with that of Bro. Eli’s.

I live in Cavite. I’m a housemate. I only watch [Bro. Eliseo’s program] when I have no more work to do.

I’ve been [watching] for a long time. My first boss was a member of The Old Path [the Church of God International].

[Concerning indoctrination], I was very happy about it because what Bro. Eli teaches is true. I’ve heard [him] on television. I really listened to it first that’s why I joined.

On Being Baptized

I’m happy. I felt really happy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many thanks to Bro. Eli. I’m really happy that I became a member because of the true doctrines.

~o~

Sis. Anna Juanita Valencia, 52, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

My older sister has long been a member, as well as my mother.

When my mother passed away, she told me, “Join here, my daughter, because this is good.” When she died, I obeyed her…

My older sister also encouraged me. She’s a choir member in their locale in EDSA Muñoz, as was my mother in Las Piñas. I was with her in Las Piñas. Now I’m in Cavite, in the Locale of Molino.

[The doctrines are] really good. I understood what the Catholic priests weren’t saying. In mass for example, those things are not explained.

After or before communion, though I didn’t eat it, [the priest] would tell stories already, and that’s all. He doesn’t speak things about the Bible.

On Being Baptized

I felt light. It’s like your feet weren’t touching the concrete. You were walking, but it’s like your feet kept on searching for a ground to walk on.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, oh how pleasant your teachings are in the Bible! I really can’t say anything about them. Many thanks, many thanks to God that I was baptized this day. It’s my birthday today.

~o~

Sis. Elizabeth Maquiling, 16, Former KNC, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

My mother is already a member, and I see [certain things in] her. She also wants me to be a member, so I joined as well.

[On Bro. Eli’s teachings,] all questions have answers, and they all come from the Bible.

On Being Baptized

I felt light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful because he teaches from the Bible.

~o~

Sis. Elena Malaga, 40, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I really like the way Bro. Eli leads. It was only last month when I [first heard Bro. Eli]. It’s good. We understood every teaching. He really explains it well.

On Being Baptized

I felt happy and light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Continue it; we’ll support him. That’s all. [laughs]

~o~

Bro. Raul Camua, 40, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I have been seeing this before, but I didn’t pay attention to it. And it’s because of what other people or my family might think or say about me.

Then, it seemed like I have been called a few times already, but I didn’t respond [every time], so I was bombarded with problems.

One time my friend brought me [to the indoctrination], but I didn’t pursue it so I had problems again.

Years passed by and I still didn’t give it time. Then lately, as I watched the program continually, it was like I had a dream again saying, “You’re very hard-headed.” So I took it seriously from then on.

I can’t interpret it much, but [in the dream] I was doing something. Perhaps, this is it. This is where I found it. I can’t explain it. All I know is that there were many people before me.

On Being Baptized

I felt somewhat light. I also wished for something back there, but it’s for the better.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will be able to teach me that I may teach others as well… May he continue to be guided by the Holy Spirit…

~o~

Bro. Prince Albert Galindez, 17, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I felt that this is the true Church. Also, it’s unlike others that… I really felt that this is the one. I also wanted to change my life.

My uncle and aunt would take me [to Church gatherings]. Then, [I listened] on TV and on radio, and through every other means like on the Internet and in Bible Expositions.

I have been going with them since 2010. This year, I felt that it was time already.

On Being Baptized

The feeling was so light, like I was a new man. I felt clean, and as if I was floating on air. That’s how it felt.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will be able to continue with God’s mercy. I hope that they will be able to help many more people like me.

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on May 1, 2015 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Bro. Louie Enriquez, 40, Former Born Again Christian, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

I feel and see that the teachings of Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel are true.

My father has long been a [member], for more than 10 years now. I got to live with him recently and he encouraged me [to listen to Bro. Eli].

It was about two months ago when I attended. The last time, I was supposed to be baptized, but I wasn’t able to go on with it. Perhaps the Lord did not will yet for me [to be baptized].

I already finished the indoctrination sessions then. But maybe there just wasn’t yet the calling; I was still reflecting on things. Then one day, I felt it, and told the [deacons] about it. So they assisted me and I got through to the baptism.

On Being Baptized

I felt both nervousness and happiness. After I was immersed, I felt happy. I used to have ill feelings [laughs]. But after that, no more.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will be stronger, and may they continue to spread the Good News. That’s all.

Sis. Areej Gabrielle Rollon, 17, Former Catholic, Romblon Province

On Joining the Church of God

From constantly listening to Bro. Eli’s Bible Expo, I felt something [urging] me to join here. Also, it’s because of mama. It was about two or three years ago [when she became a member].

My youngest sibling is a KNC [Kawan ng Corder or Flock of the Lamb]. I heard about this when I was about 15 years old.

My mother would bring me to the locale near us in the province. I think it was a Thanksgiving service [that I attended]; the one that happens weekly.

The doctrines will really melt your heart because you’ll hear the right [teachings], not the adulterated ones from my previous [religion]; I was a Catholic before.

On Being Baptized

I feel so happy. It’s like “I’m finally here. I’m a new person again.” It’s really just so… I can’t explain it.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Thanks to them because it’s from them that I heard the true doctrine. I hope that they will continue bringing the word of God to all men, that many more youths like me may join here.

~o~

Sis. Krisha Teopinto, 18, Former KNC, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been hearing Bro. Eli because of my parents. Also, I was a KNC before. And I’ve known that my parents are in the right Church from my childhood. That’s why I joined here.

When I was in third year high school, I stopped in the KNC. I returned lately. From then on, I always listened in Prayer Meetings, Worship Services, and Thanksgivings. I also attended ITGs [International Thanksgivings to God].

On Being Baptized

It’s different, like the feeling is so light. Before I was immersed, it felt like I had a lot of burdens. It was heavy to bear. But when I got out of the water, I felt happy. I felt light, like all my problems have been gone.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope they won’t tire in proclaiming the word of God, and may the Lord keep them.

Sis. Norma Parico, 57, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province

On Joining the Church of God

This is the only way to… I want for my life to change. I believe that my life will be better.

My former life … It’s because in Catholicism, I had no peace of mind. I just kept attending mass, but I never learned anything about the Bible. [But] I saw it in the Bible Exposition. That’s where I learned it. And it’s all right.

Before, I worked in Parañaque. What happened was I couldn’t commit to always watching [The Old Path] as we always had work. Then, there’s overtime; we we’re not allowed to not go overtime. Our supervisor gets angry when we leave work.

—-

But one time, I attended there. My daughter, my youngest, is really active here in The Old Path [the Church of God International].

My daughter told me, “Ma, you’re with age already. You need to be in a [good place]. I already became a member.” I then told her, “Don’t worry my child, we’ll get to that point someday.” Of course, I already got focused on that.

With God’s mercy, our dream finally came true. Two more members of our household are not yet Church members. I have an eldest child, and my teenage son who is in Taiwan right now. I will encourage them both [with God’s help and mercy].

On Being Baptized

I felt relieved as I had many problems, especially with my children. But I felt that I got somewhat comforted with that as well, like I obtained peace of mind.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

My message to Bro. Eli is, may he have a longer life that he may be able to guide many more brethren, that he may lead other Christians lost [in the world]. I hope that he may be able to help many more people.

~o~

Sis. Melchora Delos Santos, 47, Former Born Again, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I was searching a place where my soul would be strengthened. And it was like I was so hungry for righteousness, for living the right way. I heard Bro. Eli’s teaching and I got enlightened.

I have friends who led me here. Ten years ago, someone invited me, but my mind was still closed. I was still in the Born Again then; I still lived in sin.

Then, the Lord gave me many trials: Our business went bankrupt; my father had a stroke. He removed every comfort in our lives.

Our wealth really [dissipated]; our comfortable life was gone. I really felt down; there were many difficulties, sufferings. So that’s when I started searching for the Lord.

—-

I wish that I had heard [Bro. Eli’s teachings] long ago, so that my family would not have experienced the devastation and suffering that we went through.

I sinned, committed adultery and unfaithfulness; I made a great transgression against the will of the Lord. If only I had known Him then.

I didn’t know Him in the Born Again, and that was since 1986 in De La Salle University; I was still a student. It’s because the teachings there aren’t complete. It wasn’t able to make me righteous. That’s why I erred.

If only I was able to lead my family [to good], they wouldn’t have sinned, and we wouldn’t have suffered like this.

On Being Baptized

I’m happy. I felt light inside, and also had that feeling of knowing that you have been forgiven by the Lord. Even I couldn’t forgive myself with the wrong things I’ve done, so it’s like I got free from bondage.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, I hope that I had heard your teachings back then. I wish that I had met you early on.

When I was in high school, I saw around Taft Ave. a Church of God. It got imprinted in my mind, but I didn’t give any attention to it…

I really wish that back then, I had… I’m really greatly thankful that I was able to push through now in knowing [the teachings]. I hope that I will be able to serve, as I really want to be able to serve the Lord.

~o~

Sis. Camille Leong, 18, Former KNC, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

Of course, I was a KNC before. But now, the reason why I got baptized is because I [felt] that I was being called to join, formally.

On Being Baptized

I feel like I’m floating. I feel light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May the Lord continue to guide them in the ministry. May they be given more strength that they may be able to help people more.

~o~

Bro. Francis Suriaga, 41, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I want to have a new life, and for me to be also saved from damnation. So when judgment day comes, I have hope in salvation.

It was my cousin who was first to be a member of Ang Dating Daan [the Church of God International], and he told us that [it’s] good.

Now, my father saw The Old Path on TV. He then said that it was good. The time soon came when both of us would watch it, until my parents got baptized first…

The doctrines are good because you’ll learn everything. I was formerly a Catholic, and I went to mass. But then I thought, “I’ve long been going to mass, but still I didn’t know a single thing about the Bible.”

So it’s only now with Bro. Eli that I learned everything: All [the doubts], the questions in your heart will be answered. I also found out what [a person] must do, and what he needs for him to be able to  control himself.

On Being Baptized

I felt happy inside, that feeling wherein you have no burden at all. It’s unlike before when my heart seemed to bear many heavy loads. But now, it doesn’t anymore.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Of course I’m thankful for Bro. Eli because he teaches every good thing. Also, he is a faithful preacher.

Bro. Hernani Fedelino, 15, Former KNC, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

It has been my [desire to join] ever since. This has been really what my parents have [wanted] for me.

I grew up here in the Church of God, so this is really where I would be. It’s my dream to be a member here. My parents have been members since I was just a year old.

On Being Baptized

I felt light, and I feel that my sins have been forgiven.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I thank them and I hope that their lives will be longer that they may be able to save many other souls.

Bro. Wilson Escalora, 58, Former Baptist, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

I’ve long been idle in religion. After I became a Baptist, I stopped and didn’t attend anymore in the Baptist church. I was idle for ten years or so, as I was searching [for the truth]. Then, I realized that The Old Path [the Church of God International] was better, based on the [teachings] that I was hearing on television.

It was in about the Year 2000 [when I heard Bro. Eli] on television. When I left the Baptist church, that was when I started watching Bro. Eli. Actually, The Old Path was sometimes criticized in the Baptist Church.

I had neighbors who listened to The Old Path, and they told me that it was good, so I listened as well. That’s when it started. When he [preaches] on TV, it’s the verses of the Bible that he reads in answering all the questions that people ask him. He answers from the Bible, so I saw that the teaching was right.

On Being Baptized

I felt very light, like I was relieved of the burden, the extra baggage that I had. In life, we have many things that burden us. So when I was baptized, and even during the indoctrination, I learned a lot that made me feel very light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

My only message for Bro. Eli is that he may be in good health, that his life may be longer, that he may not be sick that he may be able to lead many more people in service to the Lord.

~o~

Bro. John Kennedy Lopez, 16, Former KNC, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

My parents have [long] wanted me to become a member, only there was a hindrance. But I forgot and fought that hindrance that I may be a member of the Church of God.

The doctrines I heard have nothing lacking, no deceit; [they’re] in the Bible. All the answers [to people’s questions] are in the Bible.

On Being Baptized

I felt light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that the Lord above may keep them, and for Him to lengthen their lives that they may be able to help many more people.

~o~

Bro. Fidel Felipe, 40, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I joined the Church of God because I learned the teachings of Bro. Eli and Kuya Daniel. Also, with other religions, I didn’t see these kinds of activities and brotherly concern, lifting [each other’s] heavy loads, only with Bro. Eli’s.

I’ve long been listening to Bro. Eli, since 1994… I even saw his live debates; Kuya was still in Channel 2 then.

It was only recently that I took this opportunity. I told myself that I don’t want it to be too late for me [to join]. So here I am, and I have a new life.

On Being Baptized

When I got baptized, I felt really light, like everything – my errors, my sins – have all been buried. So this is me now.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that he will be given a very long life, and may he just disregard whatever bad thing that people throw at him. Thanks be to God

~o~

Bro. Alfejan Bayo, 29 Former Born Again, Cavite Province
On Joining the Church of God

When I was still in the Born Again, there were unexpected events that happened in my life: Problems piled up; I got into an accident at work; but firstly, my parents got hit by Typhoon Yolanda.

After that, less than a month in my new job and I had an accident wherein I broke a bone. But the heaviest to bear was when my baby was born prematurely, just 6.5 months old. That’s when I decided to seek the true righteousness of the Lord.

—-

When I was in the Born Again I liked [attending] Bible studies, and it just so happened that one of my workmates aboard our ship is a member of the Church of God.

One time, he invited me to watch a Bible Exposition. “Brother, just try and see this. You won’t lose anything should you listen to it,” he said. That was the first time I saw Bro. Eli on a Bible Exposition on TV, as I didn’t watch programs like it before.

My shipmate brought Bible Exposition episodes with him on his hard drive. We just watched it together one time, and that’s when the Word got through to me. Of course, when you read the Bible, you already have a background of the words there.

He asked me, “What do you think of what you’ve heard here as compared to that of your previous religion? What is the difference?” I replied, “The difference is great because here, he explains what is really according to the Bible and not from his own thoughts.”

—-

Afterwards he told me, “Just continue listening; I have some more [Bible Expositions] here; you can copy them if you wish.” I said, “Sure, I’ll copy it.” And that’s how I began listening and watching Bro. Eli’s [program] daily. Even if it were just the questions of other people, I understood it more because he explains clearly.

My shipmate told me to try the indoctrination sessions when I get home, because he went home first. “Just continue with it and see if it will have a change [in you]. Should you see something wrong with it, then at least you tried,” he said. I agreed and told him that I would go to [the locale] when I disembark.

Coincidentally, the locale was just near our home, so that’s how it started. I said, “This is different. The doctrines that other religions preach is different from here, because they add and take away many things, unlike here wherein what is written in the Bible will be taught to you step-by-step; they [Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel] hide nothing. Whether you accept it or not, they will preach it.

On Being Baptized

Well, it felt light. It’s actually my first time to be baptized. When I was in the Born Again, my baptism would always be put off. Perhaps, the reason why that baptism didn’t push through was because I would really be here.

I started in 2006 [in the Born Again]. I got onboard our ship in 2006, so their schedule of baptism ended up having conflict [with my availability]. Their teaching is different from the truth.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May they continue their preaching, that many more people will be enlightened. We will continue praying for them both, that their lives may be longer, that many more may know the doctrines, that the brotherhood which the Lord formed may be kept and increase the more, and that [the doctrines] won’t be replaced by those of men.

~o~

Bro. Leovir Rama, 31, Former Pentecostal Church Member, Davao City

On Joining the Church of God

Firstly, I thank the Lord because I became a member.

I was searching, I was assessing who [the preacher] is who bears the truth. Of course, it wasn’t going to be easy as there were many trials alongside it; not to mention, the persecution of different people.

Then, I was also being swayed by different vices. I tried hard to separate myself from such, but sometimes, I would still give in.

—-

Now as I was by my lonesome outside [our house], I told myself, “What will happen to me?” because I was feeling the signs that God said, that the end is near…

That’s why I always asked God, “Lord, if You will come, please take me with You; I might be left behind. I just want to know who bears the true doctrine.”

That was really the question that I always asked myself: Who bears the true teaching? It’s because almost everyone that I have heard [preaching] claim that they are such. At that point [of my searching], I heard Bro. Eli, and the difference is great.

Someone gave an invitation at our place [to the indoctrination sessions]. Though it wasn’t my first time [to hear Bro. Eliseo] as I heard him before on TV in Davao. Everything that he says is biblical. He doesn’t digress from it. I really don’t see anything that is against it [the Bible].

On Being Baptized

I felt like crying when I was asked, “Are you ready?” There were questions [by the baptizer] that really got through to me. I wanted to cry a while ago in the pool; I just contained it.

The questions [were poignant] for me as I have somehow a deep understanding about the doctrines, so I was happy because it’s a new life [for me].

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

My message for Bro. Eli is that may he continue preaching. He’s the one elected to preach; he cannot refrain from doing so. And it’s because it’s a good sign of salvation to all.

~o~

Bro. Adrian Tagle, 35, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

Before, when I was still a teenager… I felt that I had God in my life, like He was always there by my side. It’s like I got everything I asked for.

One time however, when my friends and I were going to Tagaytay, we were one man too many for the van [we rented]. Though I was already inside the vehicle, I decided not to join them as I also had an exam the next day.

I then called one of my friends who felt bad [that he was the one to not be able to go with us]. When he came, they were the ones who went to Tagaytay. The following day, I learned that they got into an accident; almost all of them were dead. So I said, “It’s like Someone saved me.”

—-

Time passed by. Then one time, my mother had stroke. I couldn’t do anything; I felt weak, as if I was losing hope.

I called [to God], and said, “Heal my mother and I will give my life to You. I will have faith in You.” My mother became better, but that time, I wasn’t able to fulfill my [promise] to Him.

Days went by and I told myself that I need to [return unto God]. I converted to the INC [Iglesia ni Cristo]. So I remained there for almost three years; I got baptized there. But in the end, I felt that there was no change, especially in my being.

I became a Catholic again. Then as time progressed, I had vices; we drank, smoked, and gambled daily. My mother and wife were reprimanding me already, and I even lost my job. I was also feeling pity for my child.

—-

Thankfully, I have a friend who is a member here, and we were able to talk to each other. I felt that I had a place in my mind and heart again for Him. That’s when I decided to [return to Him].

Actually, there have been many times that I have somehow let Him down as I have started with the indoctrination before, but didn’t finish it. It seems like there were many hindrances.

But now, this is the opportunity [given to me] for me to finish it, so I strove to see it through. And that’s when I proved that the words of God that Bro. Eli preaches go straight into my heart.

When you hear it, you will really have fear of the Lord. Your mind will be enlightened. You will learn to [respect] the word of God, especially the Bible. That’s why I joined.

On Being Baptized

Truthfully, I felt afraid at first. I didn’t know what was going to happen. I didn’t know if I would be able to obey the [commandments].

However, since I have been baptized, and as I hear new doctrines, I feel I’m getting used to resisting [evil] and that I can be strong about it. That’s how I feel.

When the song, “Faithful Preachers”, was being sung, I cried because I felt God, like He’s just there, and His Spirit.

Actually, I can’t explain it; I really can’t. I don’t know what I’m feeling. But now, it’s like I’m peaceful inside and it’s only now that I felt light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many thanks that you are there. You’ll be able to open many minds and hearts in believing in the word of God, and you’ll be able to teach many to have faith in it.

~o~

Sis. Leovigilda Cronico, 68, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I discovered many wrong doctrines with my former religion. I’ve been with this religion practically for 68 years, since birth.

And I went to Catholic school in Nueva Vizcaya from Grade 1, from kindergarten even until college. It’s a Catholic school so religion, everything is taught… religion is taught every grade, every year.

So when I heard over the radio the Bible Expositions, the questions and answers, I realized [many things]. Then one time, I heard “Thou shalt not bow down to [graven images]…”

—-

I have a grandfather during the 80s, about 1986, and he said, “You go to mass?” We replied, “Yes, grandfather.” [Speaks Ilocano] “Thou shalt not bow down to anything made by man, natikitikan [graven] by the hands of man,” he said. It was instilled in my mind. I asked, “Is it like that?”

When I was in school: College, high school, elementary, what was instilled in our minds was that we cannot take hold or read the Bible. The only ones who can read the Bible are those belonging to the religious orders like the priest, the nuns.

So I didn’t know that. And then, I gradually… I think it was only in the last week of February this year [that] I got to always listen to the questions and answers [in Bible Expositions]. Then, I would look [for the verses mentioned] in the Bible, and I would see them there.

—-

One of the activities we had in high school was confession. We would confess every Thursday afternoon, then go to mass every Friday. All schools had that as I went to a Catholic school. So I said, “Those were frequent.”

Another thing I disliked was the mass. I said, “It seems wrong.” Also, receiving the communion; I didn’t like that as well, even doing the sign of the cross. Then, there’s walking towards the altar on your knees, and kissing the idols. It seemed against my will. It’s against my conscience for me to do such.

I then told my housemate, “Look for Ang Dating Daan [The Old Path],” when there was a [TV invitation] for indoctrination: On March 13, we are inviting you to join the Mass Indoctrination. “Rose, let’s go there. Ask where it is,” I told her.

The first time she went out, she didn’t find the [locale] in Marulas. I told her, “You lack skills in searching.” So I went with her, and we found it…

On Being Baptized

It feels okay. I feel light now. I am in the right religion. I am on the right way to God. We’re on the right path already. That’s what I really feel.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, we are very thankful; I am very thankful that I heard His words. Maybe, it’s because God has given me the graces, and perhaps due also to the prayers of the members; they prayed that people may find their way to His heart, to God’s heart, to God’s Church. I hope that many more will come.

Bro. Erlito Lotaria, 27, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I felt, as they call it, the calling of God. At first, I just watched Bible Expositions [on UNTV]. And then, I felt that I wanted to listen to it almost every night; I come home [from work] at 12 am. I wouldn’t go to sleep until I hadn’t watched the Bible Expositions.

I was just surfing channels looking for something to watch until I saw Bro. Eli preaching, and I stopped there. From then on, I continued [listening] and watched it nightly. I wasn’t content until I hadn’t heard [Bro. Soriano]. It was like I loved always hearing the teachings.

I made it a daily habit until I [met] a brother-in-faith at work. I asked him where an [MCGI] locale was, and he said to me, “Join the indoctrination sessions,” so I did that. With the help of the Church Worker there in Kamias and of Bro. David who aided me, I thank God that I have been baptized. Many thanks to God.

On Being Baptized

I’m so happy; I can’t explain it.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful that what you preach [is undefiled]; you don’t add nor take away anything from it. Many thanks to you. You’re the only preachers who are like this. That’s why I am exceedingly thankful to God. Thanks be to God

Bro. Federico Clarin, 47, Former Catholic, Nueva Ecija Province

On Joining the Church of God

It’s like I was called by the Lord, like there was  a calling that happened to me. All of a sudden, I liked reading the Bible. Also, my friends, who are brethren in the Church, were able to encourage me to attend the indoctrination sessions.

I was also able to listen on television, [and] everything I heard from [it] was true. It has been two months since [the first time I listened]. I watched on TV daily and listened to the doctrines weekly, every Sunday. That’s why it took me a long time [to finish the indoctrination].

It was like I was studying carefully whether the teachings of the Church of God are right or not. But out of all the religions I saw, this is the right one; no[doctrines] are added nor taken away. That’s what I liked about this religion.

On Being Baptized

It’s inexplicable. It really feels light inside, like you’re a new [person]. It really feels unburdening.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

My only message for Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel is that I’m really thankful because I know that the religion that is the Church of God is true. I hope that they will be able to encourage a greater number of people [to join the Church], that they may be saved.

On Joining the Church of God

Because the preacher is true and faithful and the teachings are true and are written in the Bible.

I’ve long been [listening] as my uncles would bring me to Bible Expositions. It was in 2012 [when I started]. Now is the right time and opportunity [to be baptized].

On Being Baptized

I’m happy and it feels good that my being has been changed; the evil things that I did before have now been buried [with Christ].

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will be able to spread the word of God more in the whole world.

Bro. Napoleon Cataluña, 38, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I was assigned in Laguna in the Megapack Co. Then, my fellow security guard and I would watch Bro. Eli on television. He’s already a brother-in-faith: Bro. Mark Simple. He was the one who invited me to worship services until I liked [attending] it.

It was my first time to [hear] him on TV. For me, he bases everything in the Bible; he hides nothing. What he [preaches] is in the Bible.

On Being Baptized

It was somewhat nice, like I feel that I can go forward with my journey towards a new life, towards getting closer to the Lord. [I realized] that salvation is in Him, and not in anything else.

After I [got out] of the water, I thanked the Lord and asked Him to guide me that I may not be lost again, because I cannot do it alone or without Him.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

My message for Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel is that they may continue their service for many more lost people, many more lost [souls]. I hope that their lives will be longer that they may be able to help more and more people with the teachings of the Lord.

The [doctrines] are very good; they really go straight into your heart. I can really see the work of God, like in my baptism a while ago.

On Being Baptized

I feel exceedingly happy; I can’t explain it. It was really pleasant. I felt like I was floating.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

It started when my uncle told me, “It would be better if you would be able to hear the doctrines,” so I listened. We looked for the locale in Alaminos.

Then when I got to listen, I found that it was very different [from my former religion]. I was enlightened by the doctrines.

It was my [first time] to hear [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] on the first day of the indoctrination. It was really different from my old [religion]. I really learned from there, so I told myself, “This is it.”

On Being Baptized

I felt like I was up in the air. I was so very happy.

I watched Bro. Eli on UNTV. So I saw there that what Bro. Eli was saying about the Bible seemed to be true. That’s why I got indoctrinated because I really wanted to know the truth. And that’s where I proved that what Bro. Eli says is in accordance with the Scriptures.

Every night I watched his program. Actually, I’ve been [doing so] for the past ten years or so. Bro. Eli and I even met in 1996 or in 1997 in Pulong Bulo, Angeles City. He had [Bible Expositions] there. I went there twice.

Then, it stopped. When I got back in Northville, I turned on the television one time and it’s like what he said settled in my heart, then I continued [listening] until now.

Before, my boss had me rent a place in Dau, Mabalacat. When the owner of the house was already about to occupy it again, I transferred to Northville. That’s when I got to really listen to the word of Bro. Eli, [which is] the truth.

On Being Baptized

I was crying because I have committed many sins. So I needed to repent for those. And I did.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that their preaching of the Holy Scriptures grows. And I hope, considering that Bro. Eli is already 69 years old, his life will be longer so he can continue spreading the word of God.

Sis. Epifania Boquirin, 80, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

It’s here where I found peace in my being, because that’s what I’ve been searching for. And I found it here.

My child is already a member of Ang Dating Daan [the Church of God International]. My child always says, “Please listen.”

I’ve been [listening] for a long time now; every time my child brings me to [Church gatherings]. It’s been about four years now.

I was just investigating at first. But it was here that I found the peaceful life.

On Being Baptized

I was glad. I even cried [laughs, then starts to cry].

I felt strong. I had no problems. When I was at our house I had problems. But I feel okay now; I’m happy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that they will last longer that our other brethren outside [can be lead here as well]. I will also try to encourage my children [to join].

I hope that Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel will have longer lives, and that they may always be in good health.

Sis. Jessica Aquino, 16, Former Catholic, Bataan Province

On Joining the Church of God

When I was at my mother’s place, there were many religions that approached me. There were Jehovah’s Witnesses, Catholics.

But I got to be here [or] I found out about this religion through my father. And I really felt the teachings here. Everything is explained to you in detail so you will understand it very well.

Also, the way Bro. Eli [speaks] is what really convinced me to believe that he is a preacher who won’t milk money from you. He has no ill intention in religion, but to lead you unto what is good.

I was still in elementary when [my father] became a member. Then, papa would bring me to [Church gatherings]. I was able to attend in the KNC [Kawan ng Cordero or Flock of the Lamb].

On Being Baptized

I feel happy, and I even cried before. After I got out of the water, it’s like I couldn’t remember anything else. And it was like He had given me an opportunity [to lead] a new life.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, I hope that they will continue leading us. Many, many thanks because I was able to hear sound doctrine.

~o~

Bro. Ronaldo Corong, 41, Former Catholic, Bataan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Because I saw in his [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] preaching the truth, in the words of God that he professes, that weren’t even taught to us in Catholicism. So when I was able to watch his debates…

A friend [introduced] this to me. Actually, I attended indoctrination before, but I didn’t finish it as I had cold feet back then.

But now, I saw it through till the end, because as Bro. Eli said, “No more dillydallying; no more delays.” I needed to approach Him.

The first time I got to listen was in 2002. So thanks be to God that I joined His [Church]. I found out the truth that there really is God, Who we have been forsaking. Thanks be to God.

On Being Baptized

It was different. When I was getting up out of the water [from a reclined position, being fully-immersed], I felt like I shot out of the water. Also, when I was walking, I felt [lightheaded], like I didn’t know where I was going.

All I know is that when I got to the stairs [of the pool], I called to Him and said in myself, “Thank You Father. I am now here with You. Please help me in whatever I may face.” That’s it. And with the help and mercy [of God], I’m here now.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May he continue his preaching for the sake of making God known unto the whole world, the same with Bro. Daniel. They are good preachers; they are not liars. They don’t add [doctrines], just truth.

~o~

Bro. Lupito Barreda, 42, Former Catholic, Bataan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I was a former Catholic. When I worshipped in Catholicism, it was like I was searching for something that I must find. It’s like I wasn’t comfortable in that kind of situation.

Now, I sought for the truth, where I would side, where I would be content. One time, when I went to my brother’s house, he was about to attend the indoctrination. He brought me with him. He said, “If you’d like to, please come with me.” He’s already a member, but I wasn’t yet so he invited me, if I indulged him. I told him, “Sure. I’ll attend.”

Now when I attended, I heard the explanations of Bro. Eli, and somehow I knew in my heart that it was what I was looking for. Immediately, I was like at peace with the teachings he was preaching. So there. It came to the point that I have now been baptized here.

I already saw him before on TV, on radio; I got to listen when he was on DZBB even. However, I didn’t pay any attention to him before because I didn’t really know yet the path I was treading in my life.

Until the time came when I had a television and I would listen to him. Now, this is the way that I now know, which I knew through my brother that lead to my baptism here. He led me to good.

On Being Baptized

When I was baptized earlier, I felt the burden in my body was gone, like I felt lighter inside. Perhaps, this is the way for me to know our Lord Jesus Christ.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Daniel and Bro. Eli, all I can say is that I’m really thankful that I found the true way of the Lord. I knew God through his good explanations. The things that I should have learned, I learned from him.

Newly Baptized Testimonials: March 27, 2015

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on March 27, 2015 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Bro. Pepito Aguilar, 79, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

It’s because of the preaching. I believe this is the true [Church], because this is where I found what I was looking for in the Holy Scriptures. That’s why I got baptized.

Someone invited me to a [Bible study] in Kalayakan. He came to our house and invited me to become a guest [in a Church gathering]. I agreed to go with him as he was also my friend.

That night, I learned that the answers to questions are coming from the Bible. I said, “This is good.” When you ask, [the Bible answers]. I believe it is the truth. That’s why I got baptized, because of that truth.

—-

I already heard it [The Old Path] in Manila at my children’s house in 2014. However, I didn’t pay attention to it because I thought, “It’s on TV. It’s just marketing.”

Then, I became an Elder Lahi member. It was the one with the supposed “holy oil,” but it was just nonsense.

So when I saw this, this preaching, I [decided] to be baptized. As far as I know, I believe this is the truth, because to all your questions, it’s the Bible that answers. So I believe this is the truth. Well, not believe, I know it’s really the truth.

On Being Baptized

When I was baptized, I felt I had changed, especially during the baptism proper; I felt a really great change.

It’s like I forgot everything that had happened in my life. I used to be a constant swearer – to my grandchildren, to my children. Whenever there’s a problem, my mouth would utter heavy speech.

But a while ago, I have forgotten everything. I asked for forgiveness before I went into the water. I was interviewed [by the baptizer] before being immersed. I told the interviewer that “[I know] all of my sins. I will ask for forgiveness from the Lord Jesus Christ. I got baptized that I may be forgiven.”

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

When I pray, I will include them in my prayers, and this entire group: the Church of God. I will include everyone in my prayers: All the brethren and non-brethren.

I will also pray that I may also able to encourage those who are not yet inside the Church to join. May God and the Lord Jesus Christ enlighten their hearts that I may be able to bring them here, even few by few.

Bro. Marlon Quiambao, 52, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I have a friend, who also happens to be my neighbor, who asked me one time: “Are you doing anything later?”

I replied, “Nothing. In the morning until the afternoon, of course we have our jobs. From 4 pm till nighttime, I’m already free.”

“Perhaps you’d like to go with me to Kalayakan. We have a Bible study in the Church of God.” I told him, “Brother, I will go with you as there’s nothing wrong with that.”

You won’t be able to invite me to birthdays or if what we’re going to do is just sin; I won’t indulge in those kinds of occasions. However if it’s something like that, which is not bad, then why not try it?

—-

In other words, I went with him to the Bible study, until I got fond of, rather, loved hearing the words that the [Church Workers] were speaking there. I don’t remember [their] names though.

When we were going home [after the first time we went there], my friend asked me what I felt about what I heard. I said, “I feel okay, because all of us want what is good.”

He told me that we would go to a larger locale [for indoctrination]. I said, “Sure. Who are we going to be with there?” He told me that it was a Bro. Ariel. So I went on with [the indoctrination].

—-

However, I got delayed one day and I told them, “I won’t be able to attend this time as my aunt has a problem. I will attend to her first. I will return for the next session.” They told me it was just okay.

In short, I made up for the session that I missed. I said, “I will [continue] listening to Bro. Eli’s preaching.” And I did continue. As Bro. Eli said in his program [The Old Path], you should continue listening. So I went on to finish the indoctrination. At the end of the day, what’s important is I am here now.

I told my friend, “Brother, it’s really, really different to see a religion with unity.” Because we’re used to… me being a Catholic then, when I go to mass, I go whenever I wish; every man for himself, as is said. But here… oh, the difference is great.”

On Being Baptized

Now after I got baptized, I told him, “Brother, this is a great relief in my life.” He asked, “Why?”

“When I got immersed – the problems, the enemies, the ill feelings I had – I got rid of them all before I got into the water, so I really feel a great relief in my being now.” You feel really, really clean. That’s what I feel.

For me, that feels like a great load has been lifted off my chest. As was said, [you’ll] be forgiven. So I said, “Thank You.”

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I pray that we all will be saved from every danger, that our lives may be longer. Many thanks.

Bro. Dudley Reyes, 41, Former Catholic, Cavite

On Joining the Church of God

Apart from the fact that I was invited here, it’s because of faith; my faith in the Lord returned.

It [started] before on radio, then on TV while setting up the channels. But the one who invited me is Bro. Dinky Doo. He was the one who invited me to go to a Prayer Meeting at first. Then, Bible Expo; after that, the indoctrination. I continued with it because I liked the doctrines.

[On his faith in the Lord returning:]
I was very lost. I had no urge in attending mass. There was a time that I didn’t want to speak to God, even at times when I had problems. Sometimes, I didn’t want to even approach Him because I feel that I’ll just fail in doing so.

Now, in my entire life and I’m turning 42 already, it’s only now that I knew the words of God. As they say, “Closed-up Catholic.” There’s no such thing, because they don’t teach you anything.

—-

Well, like I said, I was invited here, and there’s already a few brethren whom I have been in life with. They are different, really different; they’re true people.

It’s not just because they said “Thank You Lord.” The way the help… they help without remuneration. What they can do, they do it to help, even though I wasn’t their brother yet when I met them.

So those are the main reasons why I even… I went to that Bible study at first. I just wanted to see it. I want to see the Church. I was surprised to see that there was a TV [program].

Even though [Bro. Eli’s preaching] is through internet or whatever, through cable, in the locale, it still feels personal. It has no bearing wherever he is, what’s important is that what he says is true.

On Being Baptized

It feels good. It feels good inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many, many thanks for the doctrines, for explaining the teachings of God. More power. God bless.

~o~

Sis. Emerald Edosor-Esto, 27, Former Catholic, Manila

I became a member of the Church of God because this is where I saw the true Gospel. I also feel happy and joyful every time I am able to hear the teachings of Bro. Eli.

Be it a Prayer Meeting or Thanksgiving, I really feel the teachings of Bro. Eli [in my heart] whenever I attend. Also, I really see that everything he preaches is based in the Bible.

It was through television [that I began listening]. At the same time, there was a brother, who is also [now my] brother-in-faith who invited me. I have been listening to Bro. Eli through his program Ang Dating Daan [The Old Path], but not regularly.

However lately, just this February or January, someone invited me to a Bible Exposition; after that, to the indoctrination. So I attended continually since then; I didn’t have any absents.

On Being Baptized

A while ago when I got baptized, oh, how I really felt so happy! It feels so good knowing that I have been baptized in the true Church. Also, I didn’t have any moment back there when I didn’t cry. I really was crying to every… even to the songs, I was crying.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, much, much thanks for the teachings that they continue to spread not only here but in the whole world. And I hope that the teachings of Bro. Eli will spread the more in different parts of the world.

I hope that he will be given more opportunities, a longer life, that God willing, he and Bro. Daniel will have more strength to continue spreading the Gospel.

Bro. John Lazona, 31, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

It’s here in Ang Dating Daan [The Old Path], the Church of God International where I saw the true Church.

It’s here where all the doctrines of God are taught to all the members. Before, when I wasn’t a member yet, I was able to watch the program of Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel on UNTV. That’s why I decided to join.

I just happened to watch it. Also before, it was my habit to read the Bible. That’s when I had an idea. I was formerly a Catholic. [But] I can see that the Church is beautiful and orderly that’s why I decided to become a member.

On Being Baptized

I felt a while ago that I was a newborn baby, like a new person. It’s so relieving after baptism.

All the [doctrines] went straight into my heart, that the doctrines of God can work greatly in every person.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that you will continue your preaching to all people in the whole world. I hope that your lives may be longer that you may be able to help many more people like us.

Sis. Marilou Pascua, 52, Former Catholic, Batangas Province

On Joining the Church of God

At first, it was all hazy to me. I was a catechist before. Then, my daughter became a member, and we always had arguments, because she would criticize my Catholic practices.

It was about four months that she invited me to listen. But I said no because I had a duty in Catholicism. When she stopped convincing me, that’s when I had an interest in watching the television program.

I was alone at home when I watched until time came that my interest deepened more and more. I would watch until 12 or 1 am.

—-

My daughter didn’t yet return. Before, she would text me. When she stopped [trying to convince me], she didn’t know that my belief had already rooted…

Then I told her that I would stop teaching in the Catholic religion. She said that what Bro. Eli says is right.

Time came when I really decided [to stop in catechism], and I told my daughter about it. I presented myself to her; she laughed and said, “Really? Seriously?” I replied, “Yes. I don’t teach anymore.”

I just really waited for the schooling period to end. I told them, “I won’t be returning.” Then, I also opened the matter up to my colleagues… They didn’t want me to leave. They said it would be wrong.

—-

“Do you know Bro. Eli?” they asked me. I said, “Why do we need to judge a person? How about us? Do we know the priests?” It was through him that I found [wisdom]. Please don’t get mad,” I said.

I lost many things [starts to cry]. I’m crying about it because I love them. But if they will judge me… We all have rights, don’t we? Also, I feel like I have long been being called here.

Actually before I became a catechist, I was a Born Again member. And it’s because I was really looking for a Bible study. Even when I was a child, my grandmother would always bring me to church. [And] I have joined them all, Born Again Christian, the charismatic movement, etc. But I asked myself, “Why is there something lacking?”

On Being Baptized

I feel relieved.

Truth be told, I’m not used to this kind of appearance. My livelihood [before] was photography, so I am used to touching things up. I would make my customers look beautiful, and so that’s where I learned to make myself look pretty as well. It’s only really now that I dressed like this… But it’s okay, I can learn it for the Lord.

I learned a lot. I’m not saying that I’m a good person, but perhaps, I will the more be a better one. And it’s because there’s nothing better left to do than to give thanks and praise, and share what is given you. I really learned much.

[My daughter] was laughing and laughing last night. She said, “Oh? Really?! You’re kidding.” I told her, “I’ve decided [to be baptized]. Her best friend is with me today.

Before, when she had just heard three doctrines, she said that, “I think I won’t be able to [finish] because there’s still something hindering me.” I said, “Perhaps, it’s the manner of dressing…”

She always wears shorts… But then she said, “I’m not used to that kind of attire. But with the help of God…” All those things can be learned. Besides, it’s just appearance. All of us, when we die, there’s no look we can be proud of.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I am very much thankful because [they] opened my eyes to the right doctrine. I really learned a lot. [Their] teachings are all right. I told myself that I have no doubts because all is correct; everything is in the Bible.

Bro. Allan Taniog and Sheryl Mejia, 34 & 35, Former Catholics, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

Bro. Allan: That’s where I saw the true teachings that are from the Bible.

Actually, my father is a member, and so is my brother. They would watch television [The Old Path], and I would just hear it until I developed an interest in it. It’s like their way of leading me here as well.

Sis. Sheryl: [At first], I was somewhat annoyed at him because he always listened to Ang Dating Daan [The Old Path].

Our television set is in the living room; and though we were in our room, the TV would still be running even in the wee hours of the morning. He would say, “I’m listening though I’m not watching.”

I felt irritated whenever he turned [the TV] on. But when I heard the verse read by Bro. Eli about graven images, my interest was piqued as I was an idol fanatic… So that’s how I have proven that what he reads in the Bible is true.

Bro. Allan: It started in about 2002 on radio, when my father listened, then on television. But I didn’t mind it much then. It was only recently, just last year, when we were already together that I listened continually.

It came to the point that we didn’t watch any other program, until the time came that we decided to be baptized. Actually, it was supposed to be since last month, but [our decision] coincided with the arrival of our baby.

Sis. Sheryl: It was the time when I had to deliver our baby that time. So we continued and grabbed the opportune time [after that], and we brought our baby along with us. We already had about one year of listening.

Bro. Allan: Before, I just listened, but didn’t pay due attention to it. However, I had no choice since it was my father who was watching it, and I couldn’t change the channel. It was only when we’re together that [my listening resumed]. I would list down verses that Bro. Eli is reading, until here we are now.

Sis. Sheryl: With the mercy of God, we have been baptized.

On Being Baptized

Sis. Sheryl: Emotional.

Bro. Allan: True. There was a time that I couldn’t explain what I was feeling. Perhaps that’s what was said: The Holy Spirit who will change you.

Sis. Sheryl: Even when I was just in line, I was already weeping. I have never experienced this in my previous religion wherein I had vows. Never. It’s just in here.

While in line, “Why am I crying?” Maybe I’m just happy. Actually, when the baptizer was asking me questions, she almost wasn’t able to hear what I was saying. But with God’s mercy, after I got out of the water, it’s a new me.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Allan: May God lengthen [their] lives that many more people will be lead here, for their own sake.

Sis. Sheryl: We know that Bro. Eli has many detractors. I hope he won’t be [distracted]; he will get through it I believe. I hope that he won’t be affected by them. Also, he is always in our prayers. May he have good health, and a long life. We want to meet him in person.

Bro. Ramon Macaraeg, 47, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

When I watched on television, I saw the righteousness. So when I [conferred with] the Bible, I knew that the preaching was right.

I’ve been [listening] for a long time, perhaps since the 1980s. I wanted to become a member then, but there were hindrances. I hadn’t an opportunity.

Now when I got transferred in Bulacan, there was someone who invited me to listen. I didn’t have any second thoughts. Maybe it was the chance for me to [finally join].

On Being Baptized

This is what I have been waiting for a long time. I believe that all of my sins have been [washed away]. It’s like I feel light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that many more will be able to hear their teachings that many more will be with us in facing the Lord.

~o~

Bro. Juan Udan Jr., 32, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

It’s where I heard doctrines that are true, that are from the Holy Scriptures.

My wife also opened my eyes to this as she became a member first. She likes reading the Bible. She became a member just last November.

I was busy at work until… She was really avid in watching Bro. Eli. She had almost read all the Bible’s [verses she listed down] when she watches on TV on cable; it was 24 hours anyway.

Sometimes, we would argue because all she ever watches is UNTV, Bro. Eli Soriano’s programs. [I told her] that once I know that Bro. Eli’s teachings are okay, that his words come from the words of God, I will see, and I will get indoctrinated. If it’s really okay, I will join.

I said that she didn’t need to persuade me. However, I’ve watched some of [Bro. Eliseo’s] programs, until [my watching time] doubled, and it went on from there.

There are many odd things in other religions, just different. Their doctrines are various. But with Bro. Eli, he dissects every version of [the Scriptures]; he explains every verse written in the Bible.

On Being Baptized

Actually when I wasn’t a member yet, I always get into accidents. But even before, I always prayed when I drove. I knew even then that it’s like the Lord was calling me already. So I thought of getting indoctrinated already, that I would listen to all the words of God.

Before I’ve been baptized, I forgave all of those who had sins against me. Then I asked for forgiveness. I felt light.

It’s like my chest was overflowing with [emotions]. Somehow my breathing got better. It felt like there was magic that really [happened] when the water overtook you. I felt light inside.

So then I delivered the news to my wife: “We’re siblings-in-faith already.” My wife said to me, “Welcome to the Christian world!” She was thankful because sometimes we would argue about it.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that [their] lives will be longer, that [they] may reach various people in different parts of the world.

Bro. Jhonas Ryan Grijaldo, 23, Former Baptist, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I saw the righteousness of the word of God in the Bible. I also saw the wisdom that Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel is preaching that I didn’t see in other churches.

I was from Catholicism and from a Baptist [church]. Then, I investigated the teachings that I heard from Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel. I was able to compare teachings with that of the Baptist and the difference is great.

I realized that my becoming a member of the Baptist church wasn’t right. So I decided to become a member of the Church of God.

I’m a seaman; I go aboard ships. Our captain often watched [Bro. Eliseo]. He had CDs, copies of the Bible Expositions and the debates. I copied them all. And with God’s mercy, I was called through that. Since then, I listened to the Bible Exposition and debates nightly.

On Being Baptized

It feels light inside. All the burdens that were on my shoulders are all gone. It really feels good. It can make your heart really feel light. I can breathe easily now.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May they continue with the evangelization, the preaching, and to expand the ministry of the Church the more. I am eager to hear many more teachings, and true teachings at that from the Bible, the true teachings that the Saviour Jesus Christ taught. Thanks to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel.

Sis. Elizabeth Ramos, 15, Former KNC, Batangas Province

On Joining the Church of God

Ever since I was a child, I already know [the teachings] and I have been raised by my
parents in the Church. So I got encouraged to join here as well.

When I was younger, things weren’t that clear to me. “Why is it like that?” I asked myself. But when I got older, I understood it and it went straight to my heart. The teachings here are indeed very different from those of other religions.

On Being Baptized

After I got immersed, I felt I had peace of mind. I felt appeased.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, I miss you already. I don’t see you anymore. I love you. We love you.

Sis. Josephine Ronquillo, 53, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

My knowledge expanded with what I was watching on TV. It’s like that. It has been about six months now.

I often listened, but I didn’t yet attend [Church gatherings]. It’s because I was also busy at work. My daughter even got ahead of me [in joining] last year.

Truth be told, I was the one who lead my daughter here. It’s just that she got baptized first. I was just surprised one day when I found out that she became a member already. I didn’t hinder her.

I got interested with what he teaches. I investigated it, and I got touched. My spirit was awakened.

On Being Baptized

It feels light inside. Wherever the Lord wills [for me to be], that’s where I must be. He’s in charge. I pray to Him that whatever way He wants me to go, [that it may be followed].

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel continue their works for the people whom the word of God will be able to lead [unto the Church]. May they be given more bodily strength that they may continue their service to many more people.

Sis. Bangie Puerto, 37, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

It’s here where I saw that everything is being taught; nothing is hid. Then, this is where I found that [something] I’ve been looking for.

Actually, my husband was the one who brought me to the locale. It was our first date, and he brought me to the locale, which was actually an answered prayer of mine. I prayed for a partner that will also be my partner in the Lord…

From then on, I always went to the locale. He would bring me to the locale, and it would be our meeting place.

My first impression was is that this is the Church that I’ve been looking for. I have been to a lot of churches already. Then I said, “This Church is unique.”

It’s here where I saw worshippers who really bend their knees in prayer. It’s the only one I saw with knees that are really bent.

—-

The first Sunday [I attended], the man I married said, “Okay, God willing.” Those words were a good sign that this man is a person with wisdom. Then I told him that I would just go there by myself.

So we met in the locale. And I was shocked because I thought it would be just any other church. Then when I saw it, [the sign] read “Church of God International” and then “Ang Dating Daan” [The Old Path].

I said, “I sometimes just hear this on radio,” and that I wasn’t aware about it much. I just heard “The Old Path,” and just wondered about it. But that time, I didn’t take it to heart as I was in another religion.

And then, I finally understood what it was, and I always went to the locale and got indoctrinated. My partner is the kind that doesn’t persuade. He told me that he wanted for me to learn on my own, for me to prove in myself what is true, that what he shares with me is without hypocrisy.

On Being Baptized

I had mixed emotions. I felt then that I knew that there was the Lord who is very loving, who didn’t mind who I was before.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

My message to them, as faithful and true preachers, I hope that they will continue in preaching faithfully and truthfully, which, as with water, without impurities.

Because this is where I learned, and I’m thankful to the Lord that He used them. I hope that they will have many more opportunities in life, and lead countless more people like me.

To God be the glory
