December 7, 2025 — The MCGI Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) made history with its first Annual MICT Convention and MCGI Productions Festival. Held at the MCGI Chapel in Apalit, Pampanga, the landmark event drew 12,711 participants, including seasoned members and hopeful aspirants.
First announced in November by Brother Daniel Razon, the Overall Servant of MCGI, the convention served as a deep dive into the innovative journey of the Church’s production and technological arms, offering a rare look at the complex processes powering MCGI’s outreach internationally.
“Together, let us be instruments of God to shine in the midst of this generation. It is my prayer, brethren, that you persevere in continued unity,” remarked Brother Daniel Razon, MCGI Overall Servant, in a video message to attendees. “May this be fruitful and serve as a new beginning for each of us to realize that, with God’s help, there is much more we must do and that we must utilize all methods to continue spreading the righteousness of God.”
A pioneer in technological breakthroughs, Brother Daniel has continually led local media network UNTV News and Rescue toward milestones like drone journalism. His vision has transformed MCGI MICT into a “force multiplier,” amplifying individual efforts into a collective movement capable of global resonance.

Servants-in-Charge Brother Jose Mallari and Brother Mel Magdaraog delivered the event’s inspiring opening remarks. They emphasized that Kuya Daniel’s leadership and vision has turned the MICT Department into a force multiplier. This effort amplifies every member’s individual efforts into a collective movement capable of reaching a global audience.
They briefly looked back on how the production staff of The Old Path (Ang Dating Daan) had started as a three-person team, with Kuya in charge of all things technical, such as camera operation, video editing, and lighting.
To wrap up their introductory speech, the SICs asserted that the MICT Department has grown not only in the use of advanced technologies but also in personnel, which the Church now uses in fulfilling what God has called us to do—primarily in evangelization and by covering MCGI Cares’s charities, including all medical and charitable services. To date, the MICT and MCGI Health and Care (MHMS) Departments continue to work closely in providing free healthcare services to MCGI members and non-members.
As SICs spoke to the attendees about how they must advance their skills and use the latest technologies to not get left behind, the convention featured various exhibits, including the devices the MICT Department currently uses and a mini pop-up museum where brethren can look at the broadcast equipment used in gospel propagation back in the day.

Another section of the chapel exhibited the devices currently used in drone technology, utilized by the Church for documenting not only its propagation and other activities, including special events and gatherings, but also for rescue operations. The MICT Convention also invited digital brands to feature and sell their products to brethren interested in investing in new gadgets, such as speakers, headsets, drones, and cameras.

The MICT Convention and MCGI Productions Festival was a whole day event, starting at 6 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. Philippine Time. The workshops and seminars which were open during the event included:

“Human stories change hearts,” said Brother Mon Jocson, who kicked off the lecture on How We Tell Stories. He expounded on the ways on how to use effective storytelling to inspire, intrigue, and catch the interest of people in the digital age. The UNTV broadcast journalist also demonstrated how to narrate human experiences in videos and social media assets produced by the Church to capture hearts.

Brother Mon also explained that stories that are not “hard-sell” make the most impact, which is in line with what Brother Daniel Razon is encouraging. A handful of these examples can be found in the film entries presented during the MCGI Productions Festival Awarding Ceremony, which concluded the event.
