Newly Baptized Testimonials: September 12, 2014
Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on September 12, 2014 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.
Sis. Cecillia Bulacqueña, 37, Former Catholic, Cavite Province
On Joining the Church of God
What Jesus Christ wants for us is to follow the Bible this way [the MCGI way], so I decided to join the Church. I learned about the Church through television, and my father and his friend. I got to first watch it when my dad was watching TV back in 2011.
I learned that we have to follow the doctrines we accepted. For me, all that were in it are true and should be obeyed.
On Being Baptized
I felt better after getting baptized. Compared to Roman Catholic baptism where they use holy water, baptism here is better because it was like how Jesus Christ got baptized.
On MCGI Leaders
Bro. Eli teaches excellently. He relays what God wants to communicate to people, what God wants us to do.

On Joining the Church of God
I was a Catholic. I tried another religion. My curiosity about God still wasn’t satisfied so I returned to Catholic, this time a different sub-group. Again, I still felt that there was something missing. I tried to get indoctrinated in the Church. It was okay. My husband, son and his wife are members.
My husband will celebrate his tenth year in the Church this September, while my son and his wife are members for a year and a half.
Everything I learned here is in the Bible. It’s saddening to realize that many years of my life were wasted.
On Being Baptized
It was light. When I started listening to the indoctrination, there was a strange feeling, as if I was cold.
On MCGI Leaders
Humanity needs them.

Bro. Ramon Pedro, 19, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province
On Joining the Church of God
My previous religion was Catholic. After that I joined the Born Again. But there was still something lacking in doctrine, so I searched on the Internet and then I got to watch The Old Path on UNTV.
I felt that the doctrines in me were lacking so I investigated, and with God’s mercy, I found the truth.
I joined the Church because this is where I found Christ’s teachings that I did not hear from any other preacher. I found the truth by watching Ang Dating Daan [The Old Path] on UNTV, and searching videos on Youtube.
A brother in faith was instrumental for me to be baptized as well; it was when I met him at a dance group. I was able to prove that the doctrines being taught here are from the Bible. I couldn’t understand it before, but I learned the truth here and I realized that we really should obey God’s commandment.
On MCGI Leaders
Bro. Eli is a person who [shares] knowledge with us, and he does not lie to people about what he knows. I am indebted to God most especially because he called me. I’m also grateful for this chance. I also thank God for Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel.

Sis. Adela Villegas, 83, Former Catholic, Rizal Province
On Joining the Church of God
For four years, I have been inflicted by an illness. My husband has been a member of the Church for 14 years now, and he convinced me to get baptized too.
In my long years as a Catholic, there had never been a doctor who could cure my illness; I had been hospitalized for so many times. So when my husband told me to join The Old Path [the Church of God International], I immediately agreed.
However, the moment I replied “Yes” to my husband, I got possessed by evil spirits.
I was screaming and stammering. I didn’t understand what I was saying. It was the night before the indoctrination sessions.
They said my eyes were glaring at them. I couldn’t sleep for nights; I was anxious. I would go in and out of the house, walk incessantly and then I couldn’t walk; I couldn’t even stand so they had to put me on a wheelchair. My husband encouraged me and said “You can do it Adela.” They said I’ve been repeating that line for more than an hour.
Then I said, “God, please help me.” I got tongue-tied, and couldn’t speak anymore; it was like my tongue rolled back, and I wanted to stretch it out. Because I spoke like that for a long time, I was able to sleep because of weariness.
The next day, I got indoctrinated. And with God’s mercy the following night, I was able to sleep soundly.
On Being Baptized
Thanks be to God, after I was indoctrinated, I felt like a thorn was pulled out of my chest. I felt light. There was a great and inexplicable feeling after I got out of the water. It felt wonderful.
On MCGI Leaders
I thank God first and foremost. Secondly, to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel for accepting and helping me. To our Church, thanks be to God.
