Newly Baptized Testimonials: July 25, 2014

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on July 25, 2014 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Bro. Dennis Amparo, 31, Catholic, NCR

On Being Baptized
I feel happy and light with myself because [despite] all the wrong things I knew and did before, I have now learned the true teachings.

I watched [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] on television, on UNTV Channel 37. After 9 pm, [the program] would start. Then I heard about the Mass Indoctrination [and went to] the Locale of Tulasan in Muntinlupa. I’ve been [wanting to attend it] for a long time, but I didn’t have time before.

The doctrines are really from the Bible. It’s not like what other pastors or the priests do, wherein they will just read a little and then invent their own words.

On MCGI Leaders
I’m thankful to God that there is a preacher who until now never tires in [preaching] God’s word. And not only in the Philippines, but in the whole wide world. Thanks be to God.

Bro. Sondel Perez, 46, Catholic, Laguna Province

On Being Baptized
It’s good. I surrendered all of my sins. I don’t know if I will be tempted again; I don’t know what will happen, but [I learned] that men must remain in praying to the Lord for him not to fall in temptation.

I’m happy because the Church of God that the Lord built, it is the one that the Father built. That’s why He sent His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ to build the Church of God.

I’ve long been seeing him [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] preaching. I’ve been watching him since 2008. I was jobless then; I resigned. It was then that I got to watch him on television.

There’s someone who understands. I said then, “His preaching is valuable; it is right; it is in the Bible. What he reads and explains is right because it’s according to the Word.

On MCGI Leaders
May their lives be longer. May they get stronger, and not physically mature that much that while they live, they may widen the reach of and edify the Church of God. Bro. Daniel Razon is also a pillar of the Church of God. His teachings are also right and he is also helpful to others.

Bro. Yvan Justyn Austria, 21, Former KNC, Laguna Province

On Being Baptized
Before I was baptized, I was trying to not sin, though I was still able to commit it. But now that I’ve been baptized, I feel that I have a helper, that it’s easier to overcome things like that.

It’s like you don’t want to do those things anymore, like you don’t care about them anymore. That’s what I feel.

That is what’s in the teachings of Bro. Eli. You’ll hear other preachers’ preaching, but when you examine the logic, you’ll see that his is the one with the most logic.

Actually, you’ll be able to see how things are connected. Because when there is logic, you’ll see why this is prohibited, why you need to do this. There is logic that he sees in the Bible: What must be, what the law is.

On MCGI Leaders
With God’s help and mercy, may He continue to help and guide them. I hope that this will continue, that nothing will be able to hinder the Church [with its works].

Bro. Pedro Banal, 65, Former Christian Baptist Church Member, NCR

On Being Baptized
For me it’s a big change because I’ve been searching for light about the Lord’s word. When I was a Catholic, I didn’t see that; when I was a Christian Baptist, I didn’t see what Bro. Eli was able to show.

That is why I praise the Lord, secondly the brethren here in The Old Path [the Church of God]. I listened via radio since 1997, before I was stricken with a disease in 2004.

Every night I would listen to it until it was late already. Before, it was with Don Manolo on DZMM. Then, there was a Bible Exposition in Santiago. Afterwards, I was indoctrinated in The Old Path.

I developed an interest in truly becoming a member. We finished the doctrines, despite my condition now that I had stroke, that I have a disease. I never thought; I never imagined that I would become a member of The Old Path.

On MCGI Leaders
I thought in myself that before, I was with John the Baptist; that was my belief then. Now I’ve been enlightened with the words of Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel. May the Lord will for me to be able to encourage my children to join us.

Bro. Reynol Boral, 23, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
It feels good inside, like you’ve been cleansed. I can’t explain it; I’m just happy.

I was late in attending the doctrines, but I was amazed by them. I just really liked the explanations; there are no lies.

I’ve been hearing about [Bro. Eli Soriano] since I was younger. I just didn’t make anything of it. When I was 13 years, old, that’s when I understood Bro. Eli.

The teaching is good, and I understood all the words of God, and the teachings, I really liked. My sins have also been cleansed.

On MCGI Leaders
I hope they will stay longer on earth that they may be able to help many more souls who are lost. May the Lord always guide them.

Sis. Aurora Ibarra, 51, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
Very light, I feel very light inside. Now, I am proud to say that God is living and is true.

I had a mild stroke, since about a year ago. But when I was baptized in the morning, I was even in a wheelchair. I was aided to go to the baptistery.

When I got immersed in the water and baptized by Bro. [Ato] Tobias, after that I told him, “Kindly support my back.” I quickly got upstairs, until I was able to jump and run, whereas, since I got sick in 2013, I couldn’t even walk. If I would walk, I would need accompanying.

But since the morning that I was baptized, in the name of the Lord, I now walk well. I don’t even feel heaviness. I feel so light now, my body as well, because all the unpleasant feelings in me are gone.

Many, many thanks to the Lord God. He gave me a new chance to live again, as when I was in and out of the hospital thrice, I was already dead.

Now that He gave me a new life… When I was invited to this religion, I didn’t hesitate because I promised myself, that my dream of walking again, would only happen if I had belief in God.

If it were only me, there were many wrong things that I did when I was still strong. I lost everything. I had a prosperous store then, but now, all are gone. I lost everything because I had to pay hospital dues, being admitted thrice.

But I don’t regret spending all that money because I know there’s a recompense; the Lord has a recompense and reason why He took everything away from me.

I lacked faith. Before, all I had in mind were money and business. I forgot him. I forgot to thank Him. I sinned gravely. But when I got immersed, I was sorry for all of my sins.

I’m so lucky. I’m thankful because I am able to walk again. I feel comfort now, whereas I was in a wheelchair when I came here, and limped.

I really felt how good He is, how He loved me. For God knows how to love man, no matter how evil a person you are, when you approach Him, He will love you. He will give you a chance.

This new life that I have, I will love and take care of. God gave me this, and the reason why I have a new chance is because I have something yet to fulfill.

I promised Him that I will believe Him, and hold fast to His power. I now fully understand how great a sin I have committed against the Lord God.

I used to see him [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] before on television, but I didn’t pay any attention to him. All in my mind back then was always business, my store.

But through Bro. Jerry, who lived in our neighborhood, he encouraged me to turn back to God, and ask forgiveness for whatever sin I may have done. That’s why I also am thankful to Bro. Jerry for his kindness.

He invited me to the indoctrination sessions, and [I] decided to be baptized. That’s where I learned the truth, the word of God that is all goodness. Though a man is so wicked, so long as he repents and turns back to God, nothing is impossible with Him.

On MCGI Leaders
They are sent by God. God used them to proclaim to the whole world His goodness, for people to know that they are wrong in committing sins.

Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel [read] the answers for all those who sin. They [read] answers for those who err in their ways. They teach those who are lost, that they may turn back to God.

Sis. Marynil Ramos, 47, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
I feel immensely changed inside. Now, I feel so light, like there’s nothing heavy on me. It’s really a different feeling when I got baptized, with the Lord’s mercy. Thanks be to God.

Bro. Jerry, my in-law, also invited me [to listen to Bro. Eliseo Soriano]. He first brought me to the doctrines. He was the one who accompanied us [with Sis. Aurora Ibarra] to and from the locale using his tricycle.

He also helped us financially, as I sell hamburger, French fries, that’s our livelihood. Now, he said that we should listen to the Word of God, because He’s the only one who can help us.

The doctrines we heard worked greatly to bring us to our senses and make a big change in our lives. It is really important to learn the doctrines. Also, everything that Bro. Eli says is based in the Bible and Word of God.

On MCGI Leaders
Bro. Eli, many, many thanks as you have been an instrument for us to be called in the Church. Even I, I can’t believe what happened to my companion [Sis. Aurora Ibarra].

I witnessed how she was baptized, and how she emerged from the baptistery, walking. That’s why I’m really thankful that the Lord sent you to awake us, bring us to our senses. Thanks be to God.

Sis. Shenna Mae Guzman, 15, Former KNC, Antique Province

On Being Baptized
So very happy, especially after I got out of the water. You feel like a kid, like a newborn baby. You feel so much joy inside. It’s really a different feeling.

I am a daughter of a member. I was just about six-months old when my parents got baptized in the Church. So I really grew up in the Church.

[The doctrines] are incomparable. Also, this is the only religion that I found to be true, that doesn’t deceive.

On MCGI Leaders
Ingkong, may the Lord keep you. I hope you get here soon. For Bro. Daniel, God knows what my wish is for him.

Sis. Froline Maymaya, 17, Former St. John Evangelist Church Member (Anglican), Kalinga Apayao Province

On Being Baptized
I’m so very happy and light-hearted. I feel so light despite experiencing many hardships.

At first I was a little nervous, a little afraid, but after I got immersed in the water, I got very happy.

When we were in Cantong, mama and papa always watched on television, so I was able to watch as well. Then, since I became a scholar of La Verdad, we had a subject wherein I go to listen to the teachings of Bro. Eli. He is unlike any other and true. He is true because he reads and bases from the Bible.

On MCGI Leaders
The teachings and good works that I see from Kuya Daniel and Bro. Eli like the free education here in La Verdad [really drew me]. They are the only ones who do these things.

May they be given longer lives and bodily strength that they may continue to spread the Word of God, and be able to do much more good towards our fellowmen.

Sis. Anna Medaño, 27, Former Catholic, Pasig City

On Being Baptized
I feel light and happy of course. It’s like my sins have been washed away. It feels light inside.

I joined my husband in attending Church services. I don’t recall when the first time was, [but] the teachings are good. They are unlike any other, unlike in my previous religion. The difference is big, really big.

Firstly, the Lord [brought] me here, then my husband as well, that I might join him, that we may be together.

On MCGI Leaders
I’m so very thankful for all of your good works.

Sis. Ana Maria Ogien, 40, Former Catholic, Tarlac Province

On Being Baptized
I feel light, like something changed in me. Also, there is peace in my heart and mind.

I listened continually [to Bro. Eliseo Soriano] before on television. My husband is already a member here. He was the one who encouraged me to join. I really watched on television.

As I’m baptized today, my husband is flying to Dubai. He already went back to Dubai. Thanks be to God that before he went back, I got baptized already.

My mother-in-law takes care [of our children]. Then, my husband went away. But of course, if is of my own good will that I decided to be baptized. So now I am here: New life, new hope, and with peace.

I thought of and learned the teachings of Bro Eli and they go right through my heart. Because I have long been letting myself be deceived by Catholicism, by idols, things like those. Then, I heard him, and my husband also taught me that all trials, we must surrender to God.

So that’s why even though we have seven kids, as you know there are many trials that come and you can’t avoid crying, he said “Cry it to God.”

Many thanks to God because now my heart and mind have been enlightened. As my husband said, “When you are sad, cry to God. All it takes is your knees and the floor.”

On MCGI Leaders
For Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, I hope that this congregation broadens, that they may be able to encourage many more people to join, and save those who are lost from the way. Many thanks unto God that He used them for us to be near to God.
