Newly Baptized Testimonials: December 13, 2013

Read short testimonials of faith from newly baptized brethren on December 13, 2013 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Sis. Armi Haleli Nueva, 40, Former Mormons, Cavite Province

On Being Baptized
Amazing! Before we were already baptized. First, Catholic, then Mormons, but this one is different. It’s really different, the feeling is different. You will feel that you are in the true Church.

In the Mormons, we were also immersed in a pool also. But I don’t think the water there was blessed by the Lord. I knew I was baptized but it was like nothing.

Here, I was shaking and I felt fresh as if I wasn’t thinking of any problem. I felt cold and really light. I said, “It’s really different here.

On MCGI Leaders
Oh! When it’s Bro. Eli who speaks, you’ll really feel that what he says is very sincere. That man is very simple. He doesn’t desire anything but for people to be saved; he doesn’t mind his own self even.

When I heard him crying I said, “This man is amazing. He doesn’t want anything but for men to be saved.”

I remember him saying, “I’m already old. Perhaps even just half of the Christians I will be able to lead to the Church,” so they’ll be saved. I was crying because he’s a simple man.

Bro. Eli, may you be given a longer life by our Lord, that you may be able to save many more people.

Bro. Jose Castillo, 46, Former Catholic, Batangas Province

On Being Baptized
I can’t explain what I’m feeling.

My wife has a brother who was already a member. I asked him about The Old Path [as I] saw [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] on television one time.

[The preaching] was clear to me; however, I was inquisitive. I asked my in-law about the things I wanted to know more about though he wasn’t able to answer me directly or clearly.

In the end, I turned out to be the one to find out about them as I [heard] from Bro. Eli myself. He really told it clearly.

Even when I went to Catholic masses, I [have proven] that what Bro. Eli says is right. [There], they just say a few things, and then they tell a story. It has no bearing. But it’s with Bro. Eli that I got enlightened of various things that I need [to do].

On MCGI Leaders
Thank the Lord for giving you to us, to me.

Sis. Leonisa Prohibido, 46, Former Catholic, Quezon Province

On Being Baptized
I thank God because since the span of almost three years, I have been called by the Lord to His Church. I can’t understand what I’m feeling, but I’m really very happy now that I became a member of the true Church.

My husband, Bro. Rommel, will be three years now in the Church, and he brings me to the locale. Before, I tried to be baptized, but I guess I wasn’t really ready that time. But this day, I’m really, really happy.

On MCGI Leaders
Bro. Eli, Bro. Daniel, many, many thanks for teachings us. Now, I am a part of the true Church. May God continue to guide you that you may be able to help many more people to know the truthfulness of our congregation.

Sis. Brigit Marie Centeno, 16, Former KNC, Manila

On Being Baptized
I feel good inside, happy.

I thank my parents because I didn’t need to look at other religions because I am here in the true one.

On MCGI Leaders
May they continue [their works], and I’m thankful that I met them.

Sis. Lizette Diadid, 25, Former Catholic, Pampanga Province

On Being Baptized
I felt light, and my mind became clear, enlightened.

I watched for almost a year on television. Then, I decided I wanted to hear the doctrines in the Locale of Dolores.

On MCGI Leaders
I hope that the Lord will give them more strength for them to be able to continue in their works and preachings. More power.

Bro. Marlon Salazar, 40, Former Catholic, NCR

On Being Baptized
It’s really a big difference with my former [religion], as I was from Roman Catholicism. I really feel that it’s very different. I can’t explain it; it’s hard to.

I’ve been listening to [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] since 1998 on television. There would be debates then. I watched every night on UNTV until I met a brother in the Church of God.

I told him about such things and that I wanted to be a member, but that I didn’t know anyone. Then, he was the one who guided me for me to be here. Thank God that I was able to join.

On MCGI Leaders
I can’t say anything about [Bro. Ei]; he’s good. He explains completely. It’s where I learned how to live well with others, that God is there. That’s where I felt it. To Bro. Daniel, he’s always supporting Bro. Eli. It’s good.

Bro. Felix De Luna, 65, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
I am exceedingly happy because I’ve long been wanting to join the true Church.

Nightly, I watched [The Old Path] n television. Once I lay down from 9 in the evening, I would not turn it off till the next morning, until about 6 or 7 a.m. All the programs I am able to watch. When I sleep, when I wake up, I hear what Bro. Eli Soriano says.

I’m delighted with everything he reads, the words of the Lord God in the Bible. I am really very glad as I understand them clearly. I pray to the Lord God that they will not be gone from my heart and mind.

I will try that the teachings be kept in my heart. I wish, for it would be well, that all the people will have the same religion as ours, the Church of God. You love your fellow; there will be no trouble. It would be very nice.

On MCGI Leaders
I hope that in the very last moment of his life, he will not tire in spreading the Word to all men in the whole world… He [leads] people to the true faith, to the true Church of God.

I understand that all religions are established by men. He [Bro. Eliseo Soriano], didn’t establish, but joined the one founded by the Lord Jesus Christ. So we cannot boast anything, because we only joined. The teachings are complete. It feels so good.

I hope that his life will be longer, that he may [lead] other people in the world, that the earth may be peaceful and people love each other.

Sis. Welgine Mellomida, 24, Former Catholic, Manila

On Being Baptized
It’s just different. Before I was immersed, I said that it’s cold. But afterwards, I felt [like] floating, and it’s refreshing. It’s like, “This is the new you.”

It just really feels so nice. I observed in the organization that it really is so well organized. It feels nice because when the brethren greet, it is done wholeheartedly. So when you worship, it’s different.

I really listen on Radyo La Verdad. I am able to listen to Dear Kuya. My work starts at 2 p.m. so I’m always listening to it.

Once, I wondered who this preacher is and why he says the word “stupid,” so I watched him on television. Sometimes I watched it with my boyfriend who is already a member.

The more I listened to him, I learned so much more. I even watched his debate with an atheist.

On MCGI Leaders
I’ll take this opportunity. Thanks firstly to God and to our preachers. They were made humble instruments for people like us who don’t know anything [about God’s words] to learn.

He [Bro. Soriano] dissects words differently. He can explain it specifically and in an easy-to-understand manner. Other pastors are not like that. As he said, the Bible is open. It’s really different.

Sis. Antonia Miras, 81, Former Catholic, Quezon Province

On Being Baptized
I feel good, as if I was sick and was healed.

I only got to listen to [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] in the Locale of Infanta. It’s like I was drawn to him, instead of to other religions. I have been to many religions, but there are some things unexplained.

On MCGI Leaders
[Bro. Eli] explains well. His explanations can be understood by people. He doesn’t just read verses or chapters, but explains. His explanations of the verses and chapters are clear.
