Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on December 12, 2014 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit Pampanga.

Bro. Ariston Tuazon, 62, Former Catholic, Rizal Province

On Joining the Church of God

Way back 10 or 15 years ago, I was already watching Bro. Eli on television. Actually, I wanted to join back then; I just didn’t know what locale chapter to go to.

Now, I was invited by… I made a friend named Bro. Art in Sta. Lucia mall. He invited me to join the Church of God. I was buying bread at French Baker [when we met].

I have long wanted to become a member here. Even her husband [points to Sis. Leonor Dela Paz, his sister], who had already died, really wanted to join here, but didn’t know how. But this is my opportunity now.

Before I became a member here, I was busy in my work. It’s only now that I had a great chance to join here.

On Being Baptized

I feel good. The only thing is, you cannot help but cry. Even in prayer, you’ll remember all the sins you have committed before God. I hope all my sins have been forgiven in the baptism, all my errors, my ill feelings against my fellows.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Long live to their program and may they be able to help our other brethen who are in need of their aid.

Sis. Leonor Dela Paz, 70, Former Catholic, Rizal Province

On Being Baptized

I didn’t plan at first to become a member. I just went with my brother because on Sundays we go out.

Actually, it was my husband who listened to Bro. Eli. I was even mad at times because I heard him say things about other religions. But my husband didn’t say anything. He just continued listening to Bro. Eli.

One time when we were going to church, he didn’t want to come with us. He said, “Those are just statues. Are those what you worship?” That’s what my husband said, so I didn’t urge him anymore.

He wanted to join, I believe. He just didn’t know how until he died in 2010 of colon cancer at the age of 67.

Whenever he [points to Bro. Ariston Tuazon] goes to church, he goes by our house. Then he went to buy at French Baker tagging me along. I never knew I would be here and be baptized.

I just went with him, and I listened to the preaching of Bro. Eli, to the word of God; I listened and it’s all true.

On Being Baptized

It was very touching. I cried. I can’t explain what I felt but I know that my life has changed.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli may you continue your good works, and you’ll have many more brethren in the future.

Bro. Renato Pascual, 44, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Because of the clear and deep explanation of the bible, that’s why I joined.

There was a Bible Study in our place. They went to San Miguel, Bulacan. We were invited, and we went there.

Our interest was drawn to listening because it was different from the religions that we were able to examine there. They had shallow explanations, unlike here wherein they really teach to people the word of God.

We didn’t know Bro. Eli Soriano then. Actually, we were attending at the time in a Born Again group called Hope of Life.

But then we were able to listen to [the Bible Study], and I found the explanation to be deep, so I stopped listening to the other one. I said that, “The true one has come.”

On Being Baptized

I feel all right, like my body feels light. It’s like all my problems are gone away. Though I may have problems now, but I don’t mind them anymore. What’s important to me is that I fulfilled what I wanted: to be baptized.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

My message to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel is, may the Lord God will for their lives to be longer and be able to spread the word of God more.

Bro. Oliver Maglinte, 40, Former Born Again, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I was still studying in Manila when I first heard Bro. Eli Soriano. I heard it [The Old Path] in 1993, but I just wasn’t regularly watching it due to my schooling.

He also got popular because of Brad Pete (Iskho Salvador) on Bubble Gang. That’s when I got to watch him regularly.

But I didn’t mind the teachings before, as they weren’t yet on my mind. I was still in vices then because I was still young. Then I transferred to Bulacan in San Miguel where I found work and rented a place there.

I’m a farmer, but I even make charcoal. Actually, that’s what I have been doing for the many years of my life.

I was also able to listen on radio sometimes, but time came that I lost track of it. One time, there came someone preaching the word of God from The Old Path [the Church of God]. I heard the news from my in-law, from the nephews of my in-law.

It was a Bible Study; sometimes, it was Bible Expositions. I just heard about them at first, but this year, I gave it a try. After work, after delivering charcoal, I found them near [the place I went to], so I tried it.

Before, I only heard Bro. Eli on radio. Now, I’m able to see him personally on television.

When I heard what Bro. Eli says and what our pastor says, the difference is far; It’s very far. The Born Again pastor also made jokes, but unlike Bro. Eli. He makes you laugh with details in his every story.

Of course, he reads [the Bible] and shares stories that can make anybody laugh. It can even make celebrities laugh. That’s what I admire about him. Bro. Eli is the one who really bears the teachings of God. That’s what amazed me about him. All my life, it’s really only now that I heard such teachings.

On Being Baptized

I felt something went out of me. I can’t explain it. In my whole life, at this age, it’s the first time I found this “something” wherein I feel joy. It’s really only now I felt like this.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, Bro. Daniel I hope that you’ll be guided by God all your lives. I hope that all those who have not heard of your teachings, those who have not been enlightened yet, may hear you. I really pray that [I’ll] be able to continue until the end.

To God be the glory
