Miracle on Air: Radio Broadcast from the Philippines Reaches Finland and Austria

Austrian and Finnish airwaves became the farthest destinations reached by the The Old Path program aired by UNTV Radyo La Verdad 1350 KHz., a Philippine radio station based in the capital Manila.

It was nothing short of a “miracle” according to testimonies and letters that Radyo La Verdad received from its Austrian and Finnish listeners who heard the religious show being produced by the Members Church of God International (MCGI).

Miracle on the Airwaves

“I have checked your webpage and listened to the same programs I heard on my radio. We don’t have a program like this here in Salzburg Austria,” said Christoph Ratzer, an Austrian radio enthusiast.

“I hope that you can verify if what I really heard was your station in the wave medium 1350kHz,” Ratzer added in a message he sent in the vernacular, using the popular translating website, Google Translate.

UNTV Radio in Manila Reaches Finland

“I have experienced [a] miracle of radio waves – I have caught the signals of Radio La Verdad here in Finland, with good reception quality,” said Finnish scientist Jyrki Hytonen. He stressed that Radio La Verdad has the strongest reception in Europe that he got from the Philippines.

“Your message of Christ reaches all over the world. I would very much like to receive your verification that I really have been able to enjoy your program here!,” Hytonen further related.

Recorded Proof

Both messages sent recorded clips of what programs they heard on the radio. Their clips captured the voices of Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel Razon on the recordings, preaching in English and Tagalog.

The religious program is currently aired in 1,281 satellite points cross the Philippines. Bro Eliseo F. Soriano, the MCGI Presiding Minister, is the host for more than 30 years now.

Finland is a Nordic country situated in the North of Europe, while the Republic of Austria is located south of Finland, in the Central part of Europe. The distance between the Philippines, where the UNTV Radio station is based, is roughly 10,000 km or 6,000 miles for both countries.

Ratzer, using a modern US NEtDSR receiver with a 250-feet long wire antenna received the feed in Austria, further giving weight to Hytonen’s exclaiming that they witnessed a miracle on the airwaves.

Aside from regular radio broadcasting, The Old Path has a television counterpart and being aired across the globe, via satellite technology. Its Tagalog language format is titled Ang Dating Daan.

Ang Dating Daan, hosted by Bro. Eli, has an internet presence through www.angdatingdaan.org.
