Through small and enormous acts, people express their feelings of affection and love in many ways. One of the old-fashioned ways to show admiration to someone special is through the art of writing love letters.
Handwritten love letters are the oldest, yet sweetest, forms of expressing affection. With love letters, you can make a friend smile, melt a father’s heart, and bring back the spark to a dying flame.
Some brethren from Members Church of God International (MCGI) share love letters with our readers. Some were addressed to their friends, to parents and to the special love of their lives telling their truest feelings, their hopes for one another, and the secrets of the heart that the mouth cannot speak.
God’s words have made lasting impacts on the lives of the brethren in the Church. With this, we lovingly share handwritten love letters inspired by the original book of love, hoping to keep sharing the love that has been given to us by the One who loved us first (1 John 4:19).
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
28-29 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.
Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
“The words of God in the Bible are love letters of God from the heavens to the Earth, and to those people who love Him.” — Bro. Eli Soriano
God’s love transcends from eternity to eternity. His unconditional love can be felt in all things that He created, seen or unseen. In an act of true love, God not only wrote a love letter to His people on Earth but a library of books filled with heavenly words of benevolence and called it the Bible.
Simple and timeless truths are written by God in the Bible to remind His people just how great His love is for those that love Him.
Love letters are the sweetest reminders of one’s fondness for another. No matter the distance, no matter how much time has passed, love letters are physical reminders of adoration that reassure our hearts that we are always loved.
The Bible is the best love letter we can receive. It continuously reminds us, time and time again, of God’s love through His beautiful words, promises, and reassurances.
