MCGI and UNTV Continue the Legacy: 100 Solar Lights for Catanduanes Communities

The Members Church of God International (MCGI) and UNTV News and Rescue, in their ongoing commitment to community service, donated 100 solar lights to the Catanduanes Police Provincial Office (CatPPO) on February 10, 2025, specifically for municipal police stations and barangays where Revitalized-Pulis sa Barangay (R-PSB) teams are stationed. On behalf of MCGI Overall Servant Brother Daniel Razon, MCGI administration assistant Brother Danny Navales, along with Brother Roland Antonio, participated in the ceremonial turnover of the solar street lights. PCol. Edward D. Quijano, Provincial Director of CatPPO, spearheaded the event, which took place on February 10, 2025, at Camp Francisco Camacho in Virac, Catanduanes.

The ceremony began with performances by the MCGI Catanduanes Music Ministry and Teatro Kristiano.

With God’s help and mercy, solar street lights were provided to the following municipal police stations, received by their respective chiefs of police: eight in Bagamanoc MPS, six in Baras MPS, five in Panganiban MPS, eight in San Miguel MPS, six in Virac MPS, and ten for the newly constructed headquarters of the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC).

Additionally, 40 solar street lights were given to the barangay of JM Alberto in San Miguel (represented by Barangay Captain Ricardo T. Tevar) and 20 to the barangay of Obi in Caramoran (represented by Barangay Councilor Angel Jr. M. Pantilla). These barangays host Revitalized-Pulis sa Barangay (R-PSB) teams, as does the 1st PMFC (represented by the Force Commander) which also received lights.

In his speech, PCol. Edward D. Quijano expressed his sincere gratitude for the MCGI brethren’s selfless contributions.

“Through your selfless efforts, you have not only extended assistance but have also reinforced the values of unity, kindness, and shared responsibility in making the province of Catanduanes a safer and more resilient province,” PCol Quijano stated, adding, “Your tireless commitment to public service and humanitarian efforts reflects your dedication to uplifting lives and fostering a better community.”

He further noted, “These lights will not only illuminate our perimeters but will also serve as a beacon of hope and protection for the communities we serve.” PCol. Quijano also reflected on MCGI’s previous community support in Catanduanes, which included medical services, assistive devices, feeding programs, outreach programs, and donations of solar street lamps, all accomplished with God’s help and mercy.

Meanwhile, Brother Danny Navales expressed appreciation for the partnership with the Catanduanes PPO.

Quoting Luke 17:10 (“So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’”), he highlighted the shared humility and dedication of MCGI and CatPPO personnel.

Brother Navales acknowledged their dual obligation, noting that beyond their professional duties, organizations like MCGI and UNTV genuinely honor and recognize their sacrifices. He expressed hope that this simple token of appreciation would be graciously accepted in recognition of their service.

The event concluded with a meet and greet and photo opportunity.

To God be the glory!
