Do All Things In Love: Brother Daniel Reminds MCGI Youth in IYC Grand Finals

“Let everything that we do be done in love, brethren,” was the reminder Brother Daniel Razon told the Youth Ministry of the Members Church of God International (MCGI) during his opening remarks at the International Youth Convention (IYC) Grand Finals on July 11, 2021. 

Brotherly love was the central theme during the month-long online event, wherein division representatives from all over the globe vied for the top spot after five consecutive weeks of eliminations per category.

The intelligence and creativity of the youths shone brightly in the Solo Singing, Bible Verse Memorization, Bible Preaching (English and Native), Youth News, Chorale, Bible Quiz Bee, Poem, Poster Making (Digital and Traditional), Youth Drama, and Christian Dance categories.

Spiritual Essence

A Christian youth must always be disciplined to do everything with love, even in competitions and performances.

During his opening remarks, Brother Daniel Razon mentioned, “So if we do these kinds of activities, let us always have a rule of thumb: the principle of always doing things according to the wisdom coming from above.” 

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Brother Daniel further stressed that Christian youths are taught not to set their sights on earthly things, which include pride, boastfulness, lusts of the flesh, and evil intentions. 

Equipped with biblical doctrines, participants of the International Youth Convention showcased their God-given talents to help MCGI in propagating Christian virtues. The event also gave the participants the opportunity to meet and greet their fellow youth members online, especially so today when face-to-face interaction is strictly discouraged due to the ongoing pandemic. 

Winners

At the culmination of the month-long event, the Mindanao Region was hailed the Overall Champion, hauling a total of eight winners: two champions, one first-placer, one second-placer, one fourth-placer, and three fifth-placers. 

Trailing behind was the First Runner-Up winner Visayas Region, which amassed a total of four winners: two champions, one first-placer, and one second-placer. Europe-Israel-Africa Division got the Second Runner-Up, with two champions, two second-placers, and one fourth-placer. 

Completing the leaderboard were North America Division (Third Runner-Up), Quezon-Marinduque Division (Fourth Runner-Up), and Pampanga Division (Fifth Runner-Up).
