The Members Church of God International (MCGI) will commemorate the Christian New Year this coming March 16, 2018 or the first day of Nisan, Year 5778 of the Hebrew Calendar.

The Church observes the New Year that was taught by the Lord Jesus Christ and was practiced by the first Christians as written in the Bible, shying away from the New Year celebration of other religious organizations, such as the Catholic Church that occurs every after midnight of January 1st.

Congregants are expected to gather at around 5 PM PHT in time before sundown, which will mark the beginning of Year 5778.

While the Ang Dating Daan (ADD) Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga will serve as the center point of the event, members in other remote points in the Philippines and around the world will participate in the celebration via satellite and the internet.

The special gathering for the Christian New Year will be filled with songs of praises and gratitude to the Almighty, and will be highlighted by a biblical topic that will be delivered by MCGI Overall Servants Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon.

Meanwhile, the MCGI brethren is also preparing for another gathering which will be held twelve days after the Christian New Year – the observance of the Lord’s Supper.

On March 29, also at 5 PM PHT, the similar program flow is anticipated, however this time, the event will focus on the commemoration of the sufferings of the Lord Jesus Christ to cleanse the sins of men.

Following the words of God written in the Holy Scriptures, the religious organization regularly observes these two events every year.
