Silang, Cavite — The Members Church of God International (MCGI) in Cavite held its first provincial general assembly for the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) on May 17, 2026, drawing a total of 227 participants, including active members and aspirants.
Following the successful first MICT Convention and MCGI Productions Festival held in Apalit in December 2025, coordinators of the MICT Cavite group established the MICT Cavite General Assembly as they sought to upskill members of this department in various areas, such as , scriptwriting, photography, audio, and videography.
Creating an Improved Provincial MICT
The event opened with a speech from Brother Feb Trestiza, Provincial MICT Coordinator — Cavite. Together with MCGI Provincial Servant, Bro. Ricky Lugtu, he explained how the event was conceived, recognizing that this is one of the provincial groups which supports the MICT efforts in a national capacity. This General Assembly hoped to improve and unite the MICT members on a provincial and locale level.
The event was organized in an effort to organize and unify the department in various locales, and upskill members, especially for the upcoming MCGI Cavite Productions Film Festival, which was introduced during the event and set to premiere in August and to culminate in September.
The guidelines for MCGI Cavite Productions Film Festival 2026 were also provided for these categories:
While the majority of the general assembly focused on MCGI multimedia productions, Provincial Social Media Coordinator, Brother Theo Salvador, emphasized the importance of social media ethics and appealed for a more unified social media effort in line with the Overall Servant, Bro. Daniel Razon’s vision.
MCGI Cavite Provincial Servant, Bro. Ricky Lugtu, also connected via phone toward the end of the assembly to inspire and commend the participants. He reminded that, as one body, the Church, each part has a role to play.
Ephesians 4:16, KJV:
“From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
At the heart of all of it, Brother. Ricky Lugtu reminded the age-old rule when it comes to Christian good works: to do everything with love. (1 Corinthians 16:14)

Writing Stories that Move People
MICT Cavite invited guest speakers Brother Mon Jocson UNTV News and Rescue anchor and reporter, and Brother Rey Tamayo, Jr., veteran writer-director and professor at the La Verdad Christian College, to discuss best practices in storytelling and documentaries, respectively.
“Consistency is Key.” — Bro. Daniel Razon
Brother Mon Jocson conducted the seminar on Storytelling, which provided a foundational knowledge to step up the film-making genre for the MCGI Multimedia members and aspirants. He pushed for creating better stories that will support the propagation. However, he reminded aspiring and current filmmakers that consistency is important, as BrotherBro. Daniel Razon often teaches.
Recalling the birth of the Kristiyano Drama, which started out as a short film project during the pandemic, Brother Mon recalled what he felt when he was asked to create short films as a UNTV reporter. At that time, he did not think he could pull it off. But ultimately, he recalled how Brother Daniel encouraged him to accept the responsibility,
“Sabi ni Kuya, dapat ang tiwala natin nasa Dios. (Kuya (Brother Daniel Razon) said our trust should be in God.” From then on, he no longer entertained the idea that any task suggested to us by Brother Daniel would be impossible, as long as we trust in God.

Meanwhile, Brother Rey Tamayo, Jr., who directed K-Drama for the NCR region, discussed the types of documentaries and elements of film that filmmakers often overlook. Both lecturers gave pointers on how to create moving stories that can captivate hearts and steer away from hard-sell elements.
Participants engaged in interactive lectures that prompted them to think about their own potential in writing scripts and creating documentaries that are relatable to the common people.
The organizers prepared five classes in which to participate during the event:
| Class | Speaker/Presenter |
| Camera Set Up | Brother Reynold Sagolili |
| Scriptwriting Class | Brother Rey Tamayo, Jr. |
| Set Design and Wardrobe | Brother Vic Arroyo |
| Video Editing | Brother Kurt Barillo |
| Audio Sound Recording and Editing | Brother Andrew Saludes |
In addition to the lectures, MCGI Cavite Productions Film Festival participants are encouraged to attend upcoming specialized seminar workshops to be scheduled in each district of the province.
The MICT Cavite General Assembly was a day-long event starting from 7:30 a.m. and concluding at 5 p.m. The MCGI Coordinating Center in Biga, Silang, where this MICT Cavite General Assembly was held, has just recently turned into the MCGI Charity Center in the province of Cavite, It was established in 1996.
