MCGI 4th Quarter Special Thanksgiving: Capping 2021 with Praise and Good Works

The Members Church of God International (MCGI) successfully capped 2021 with a Special Thanksgiving last December 24-26. The celebration was joined in virtually by brethren all over the world and highlighted the many reasons for thanksgiving, especially the charity works that MCGI continues to do with God’s help.

A Growing Congregation

The last baptism for 2021 was held on the morning of December 24, following the three-week indoctrination in the same month.

One of the many reasons for the Special Thanksgiving is the baptism of about 2,400 individuals. By the end of 2021, MCGI welcomed an estimated 44,000 newly-baptized members.

The brethren who were baptized during the last quarter of 2021 are included in the roster of those who offered thanksgiving during the Special Thanksgiving held last December 24 to 26, 2021.

Offerings of Good Works

With God’s help, MCGI continually held its charity events throughout the pandemic. The MCGI Cares, initially named The Legacy Continues, launched massive worldwide charity efforts starting March of last year. More than just giving food packs and grocery items, MCGI Cares also granted livelihood aid requests and constructed potable water systems mostly to communities suffering from a lack of clean drinking water.

Brethren around the world gathered online in love and thanksgiving.

“Ang pangunahing aral sa kapatiran ay ang pag-ibig. (The main doctrine in the brotherhood is love).” — Brother Eli Soriano

This statement by the late Brother Eli Soriano was given emphasis by Brother Daniel as he shared with the MCGI congregation to embrace a Christ-like love. “Dapat ang matutunan nating pag-ibig [ay] ‘yung pag-ibig na turo ni Kristo. Lahat ng gagawin natin, gagawin natin sa pag-ibig,(The love that we should learn is the love that Christ taught. Everything that we will do, we will do with love) he stressed.

Short Films with a Purpose

Kristiano Drama (KDrama) are short films produced by MCGI brethren intended to impart teachings from the Bible. It started in the last week of June 2020 as inspirational content for Brother Daniel Razon’s YouTube Channel, KDR TV.

The first episodes of KDrama were produced and participated in by UNTV employees who have stayed in the facility since March 16, 2020 at the onset of the pandemic.

With God’s grace, KDrama has grown and is now being participated in by various MCGI production teams in the Philippines and abroad. New video uploads of short films are continuously inspiring audiences from all walks of life.

To recognize outstanding KDRama productions, the first Kristiano Drama Awards (KDrama Awards) was held right after the second day of the 4th Quarter Special Thanksgiving, which was on December 25.

Sometimes I complain about my life. I can’t help it. But then I realize that someone else is struggling more than I do.” —Mary Antonette Delgado on KDrama

Mary Antonette Delgado who found herself watching KDrama considers it as a modern Bible. “KDrama is what we call grace-sharing on social media,” she said.

For Ana Melissa, watching KDrama reminds her that God will definitely go right where you are in your struggles.

A Concert of Praise

The three-day Quarterly Thanksgiving was concluded with more praise songs for the Lord performed by Tanghalan ng Kapatiran (TNK) Season 2 finalists. The musical event featured selected MCGI original compositions and song adaptations from Brother Eli Soriano and Brother Daniel Razon.

Brother Daniel expressed his appreciation for the support for Tanghalan ng Kapatiran. He hopes for its continuity and for more brethren to use their talents in sharing and popularizing spiritual songs. “Sana’y manatili po kayo na nakikiisa sa layuning sa pamamagitan ng mga himno at ng mga salmo at ng mga awit na ukol sa espiritu, tayo’y patuloy na makapag-paalalahanan at makapagturuan sa isa’t isa” (May we remain in the purpose of reminding and teaching one another through spiritual psalms and hymns), he said.
