Newly Baptized Testimonials: December 25, 2014

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on December 25, 2014 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Sis. Paula Jean Cabral, 31, Former Catholic, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

It’s here where I felt the true calling, without hypocrisy. Also, there’s the concern of every brother to each other, and their observance of God’s words is not based on their own understanding. I felt the brotherhood here.

In our former religion, it’s like you can do anything you want to do, and after you do it you just pray and you’ll do it again. But here, I learned how to truly pray to God, how to really ask for forgiveness in prayer.

My husband led me here. He was the first to be baptized. While he listened to Q&As in Bible Expositions, I went with him and we also go to Apalit when he’s here. He was baptized last year; it’s my turn this year.

He was abroad for eight years, and he was able to listen [there]. Until the time came when his mother was also able to listen and became a member last November.

We also watched via live streaming. Also, when the TV signal is weak and only UNTV is the only one left as the others are already black and white, you’ll be able to watch [Bro. Eliseo Soriano’s] Q&As.

He was very patient in sharing this religion, our religion to me. He didn’t quit. Even though it’s just one or two Q and As, he would share it with me every day.

When he was here, even our housemate was able to listen and be baptized. I thought to myself, “Gradually, you are being enlightened and you learn not to be close-minded. It’s very delighting to know that I found here the fulfillment that I’ve been searching for, especially of the spiritual kind, as not all religions are [satisfying].

On Being Baptized

It feels light inside, and like something in me was removed and replaced with a humble heart, if that’s how I can term it: a humble heart.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May they continue being good examples to us. I pray for their good health and may they continue to lead and spread more the good news of the Bible that there is still hope.

~o~

Bro. Raymart and Bro. Michael Castillo, 20 & 17, Former Catholics, Laguna Province

On Joining the Church of God

Bro. Michael: Because we know that this is the true religion. The teaching is right and good, unparalleled by other religions.

Bro. Raymart: As my brother said, this is the right and true one to join. Also, I’m afraid of dying and not knowing the truth. I heard the true preaching.

Bro. Michael: My brother always watched [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] on television.

On Being Baptized

Bro. Michael: Happiness that I only felt here in The Old Path [the Church of God].

Bro. Raymart: I cannot explain the happiness and thanksgiving to God I feel for being a brother-in-faith. That’s all. Thanks be to God.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Michael: Bro. Eli, thanks for your patience in teaching the truth to all the people in various countries who have not yet learned it through radio, through television. Thank you.

Bro. Raymart: I will just start from where my brother left off, and hope that they will be given longer lives to be able to serve many more people who have not yet learned the doctrines.

~o~

Bro. Enrique Jr. & Sis. Caroline Faller, 24 & 26, Former Catholics, Cavite Province

On Joining the Church of God

Bro. Enrique Jr.: We learned the truth. Since the religion we were born in was different, some associate The Old Path with being evil, that it is like this and like that. So whenever I heard it back then, I felt ashamed, and didn’t find out about it.

But with God’s mercy, our television has UNTV so there were times that I was able to watch it, until the time came that I got married. When I was young, I didn’t take religious talks seriously. Even in my old religion, I seldom went to mass; it’s true.

Then when I got married, I learned in life and seek guidance from my parents even now. I started to become interested in the teachings of Bro. Eli Soriano to us, because I saw that the teachings are very far from those of my former religion wherein I had no choice. You would really join it because even if you hadn’t yet learned how to say “Amen,” you would already be baptized.

Sis. Caroline: Also, the parents are a real influence.

Bro. Enrique: When we became husband and wife, we were able to listen to teachings that we can really see and read [in the Bible]. It’s not just speaking from one’s own thoughts, but is being read from a source.

When I was young, I was invited to the Iglesia ni Cristo, to the Born Again, but I didn’t take them seriously. But even so, I felt that I was still of God though I committed sins sometimes. Now, I’ve very happy that I am able to turn back to Him.

When we were able to listen to Bro. Soriano, since about less than a year ago, we didn’t anymore hesitated. Even though it’s Christmas day now, for me this is truly the happiest Christmas that has meaning. I hope that our loved ones will be with us here.

On Being Baptized

Sis. Caroline: It feels light inside. The emotional baggage, regrets I felt are now gone. It feels very satisfying.

Bro. Enrique: I felt like I just cried and cried when I was before God. I felt as if I was kneeling before Him, and I was showing myself to Him that I was filthy and was sorry of my sins, and will continue to seek guidance from Him till the end.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Sis. Caroline: May they be given longer lives so our families who are not yet members here will be able to listen to them.

Bro. Enrique: Thanks be to God that we have a Bro. Eli of whom I had an unpleasant impression before. But now, everything changed. Despite the accusations towards him, which we know are lies, I am thankful that we have a preacher who does not deprive us of salvation. I hope the Father continues to guide him and give him a longer life for his service.

#OurGODWeThankYouFor Trends Worldwide As MCGI Holds 3-Day ITG for the 4th Quarter

The #OurGodWeThankYouFor hashtag, launched by the Members Church of God International (MCGI) on Twitter, appeared on worldwide trends status that began on Wednesday night (December 24 in the Philippines). The campaign, which earned No. 5 in the Worldwide Trends, aimed to encourage congregants to share their testimony of thanksgiving using social media.

OurGODWeThankYouFor

Since Thursday afternoon (December 25), it continued to trend with over 2,000 users tweeting and retweeting the hashtag while earning more than 16,000 tweets using it as of this writing. In the Philippine Trends, #OurGodWeThankYouFor landed in the second spot since Wednesday evening.

Observers note how social media has transformed the way Church members express their anticipation and excitement to the upcoming International Thanksgiving to God (ITG), held from December 26 to 28 this year.

Bro. Eliseo F. Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon, MCGI Overall Servants, respectively, spearheaded the three-day occasion.

The Ang Dating Daan Convention Center in Pampanga served as the main gathering point for the brethren in the Northern and Southern Luzon, Philippines. Some Church members from neighboring countries flew home to join the event live in its hosting place.

Meanwhile, major MCGI locales and coordinating centers also geared up across the country to accommodate brethren who cannot physically assemble at the Convention Center. Key locations also served as gathering points abroad like major coordinating centers in Tokyo, Sydney and Rio de Janeiro, to name a few.

Newly Baptized Testimonials: December 19, 2014

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on December 19, 2014 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga.

Bro. Christopher Aranjuez, 40, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I often watch UNTV for over a year now and I saw the beauty of the teachings of Bro. Eli Soriano. I also examined other religions but didn’t get baptized, because I didn’t see [the answers] to my questions in them.

Nobody invited me; I just watch [The Old Path] on UNTV. Sometimes, I have friends [who also watch it]. I have co-workers in our barracks from the Iglesia ni Cristo who frequently watches the program of Bro. Eli Soriano.

On Being Baptized

I feel like there were seven evil spirits that came out of me. The [teachings] are really from the Bible and I hope to carry them my whole life and [teach] them also to my children.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many thanks to you Bro. Eli, because of you, many minds have been enlightened. You are a brave man for teaching men who err [to correct their ways].

~o~

Bro. Nikko John Ricamara, 23, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

Actually, I’ve long been listening to the program of Bro. Eli Soriano; there were also those who invited me [to Church gatherings].

It started after I graduated high school; I stopped studying and was just a loafer then. One time, someone approached me, but he wasn’t from the Church of God International but from the Iglesia ng Dios Haligi’t Suhay ng Katotohanan. I liked the teaching so I went with him.

Then, someone from The Old Path [the Church of God International] approached me and told otherwise from the Haligi’t Suhay. So I wanted to find out the truth as they were opposing [views].

When I attended gatherings, I like The Old Path’s better because they give so much information, even what’s wrong in other religions.

On Being Baptized

I couldn’t help but cry during [baptism] because of the many sins I had. When I saw another person get baptized, I just cried and cried until it was already my own baptism. I couldn’t answer [the baptizer] properly due to my sobbing. But after I was baptized, I felt really happy and good inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, many thanks for all the teaching that you do. I’m thankful for your courage because despite many threats to your life, you still teach people.

~o~

Bro. Cyzlvester Pacheco, 27, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I’ve actually been listening [to Bro. Eliseo Soriano] for a long time now. Although my heart had been hard in the past when it comes to joining the Church, I saw nothing wrong with the teachings in the long period of my listening.

I saw the coherence in the teachings of Bro. Eli, and there is none that can refute them. That is the reason why I believe that this is truly the Church that is of God because of the undefiled teachings of God.

I usually come here as a guest during Thankgivings, just to listen to the teachings of Christ through the guidance of Bro. Eli. One of his teachings thought me that it is really commanded by Christ to join what’s good and stay away from evil. So that led me to believe that it’s really commanded to join a Church. It’s not enough for you to just do good. You have to follow His teachings and His commandments.

On Being Baptized

I felt sorry of my sins. It felt heavy and I was afraid that I wasn’t worthy to go into the baptistery as I remembered all of my sins. But all the worries and doubts were gone away after I got out of the water; I felt light. Though you’ll remember all your heavy sins, but after being immersed … I believe that [I’ve] been forgiven.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Firstly, thanks be to God for preachers like Bro. Eli. May the Lord give you a longer life that you may be able to lead many more unto the true Church.

~o~

Sis. Lydia Laborte, 66, Former Catholic, Nueva Ecija Province

On Joining the Church of God

I was thinking where I could find someone to assist me [in going to a locale]. Then my neighbor who had an in-law who is a member here approached me one time, so I went with her.

I’ve long been listening [to Bro. Eliseo Soriano] on radio for a long time, about two years now.

I have been [blind] since when I was three years old. They told me I had a disease.

On Being Baptized

It feels good inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I am thankful beause God has called me [through them].

~o~

Sis. Purita Villegas and Sis. Luisa Blancia, Former Iglesia ni Cristo members, 68 & 60, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

Sis. Purita: Our former religion is not true. That’s why I thought of listening to [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] on radio. I said, “This is the truth. I should go to it.” So I went with her [points to Sis. Lucia].

Sis. Lucia: Of course I’m searching for a real foundation of faith. You cannot live without worshipping God. That’s why I joined the Church. Even in the Jehovah’s Witnesses I underwent indoctrination, but I didn’t get baptized because I wasn’t content. It’s difficult if you don’t understand something and just enter.

I really aimed to be baptized here because… My cellphone’s battery already swelled up because of my 24-hour watching to Bro. Eli on the television channel on my mobile. It’s going to be broken because it works non-stop. It has no more cover because the battery’s swollen.

Sis. Purita: That’s also where I also listened sometimes, and I got fond of it because it was clear to me that it was something good. One time I went to her place, and we searched for a new way.

Sis. Lucia: It’s not a new way; it’s The Old Path [smiles at Sis. Purita].

Sis. Purita: We went to find a locale, but didn’t find one because we already wanted to be in the place we want to be that is so different from the Iglesia ni Cristo.

Sis. Lucia: What she’s saying is the coordinating center. The day I invited her to search for a coordinating center, we didn’t find one because I heard from the [plug on] television that there was a locale here, but didn’t know where.

Then I was surprised to know that I had a neighbor who was a member of The Old Path [the Church of God International]. She called me one time and said, “Come here. Do you want to [attend a gathering] but this is in the Church of God. And I said, “Oh! That’s what I’ve been searching for but I just didn’t know where the coordinating center is.” Then, she told me that she’d accompany me to it.

On Being Baptized

Sis. Purita: I feel nice and my body feels light. I feel light and happy.

Sis. Lucia: I feel good. I feel light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Sis. Purita: I’m happy listening to them. It’s really good. I was taught the right word of God from the things I heard. I hope I can continue this until I reach salvation with the Lord’s mercy.

Sis. Lucia: For me there is none like Bro. Eli who preaches 100% true. You have to believe that what he says is true. To Bro. Daniel, all his works are good. I am really amazed by those who are getting treated by doctors, given medicine for free.

I am just truly amazed by it. You don’t see those things in ordinary men; they are really special. I hope that their bodily strength goes on that they may be able to help many more.

~o~

Sis. Teresita Cabusay, 64, Former Baptist, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Because I felt that all the teachings and everything that Bro. Eli says are true.

I often listen to him. But before, [the teachings] didn’t yet settle in my heart and mind. One time I watched his program, and it’s like the verse he said about salvation got imprinted in my mind.

So it was like my spirit was awakened, though [the program] was not live. Then I searched for him. I went to Sta. Maria because [I knew] that there was a The Old Path coordinating center there, but when I got there, I found out they had already transferred to a new place.

Now, I really asked about it; I rally searched for it. Nobody invited me, but I just voluntarily searched for Bro. Eli. Through him, I found the Lord.

I think it was in the 90s that I first heard [Bro. Eli Soriano]. My father listened to him. Before, he would listen solo on the upper floor of the house. He had a radio and my father listened to him so I got to listen too. However, the teachings perhaps weren’t in me yet at the time, but now I was really called.

I was a former Baptist, and now I’m here. Ever since the teachings spoken by Bro. Eli entered my heart, I was lead here. My life’s direction has now changed to the right one. Thanks be to God and for the salvation of the Lord that I have found.

On Being Baptized

After I was baptized, I felt like the word of the Lord entered my heart. I will live by this, by what I learned on how to be clean and live a new life [with God’s help and mercy].

I felt like I was a new person. As what was said, you cannot enter the kingdom of God if you will not be born again. That is why my spirit is now born in Christ.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

To Bro. Eli, may he be given more strength by the Lord to be able to preach to those who have not yet accepted the word of God, our salvation.

To Bro. Daniel, may he and his family be blessed. I hope that our preachers will be blessed.

~o~

Sis. Krisna Mae Ching, 15, Former KNC, Rizal Province

On Joining the Church of God

Because I also learned from my parents the word of God, much moreso from Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel.

I learned a lot of deep things from the topics. The topics outlined by Bro. Eli are good. I learned a lot.

I was a KNC [Kawan ng Cordero or Flock of the Lamb] before. I’m a KNC graduate. Ever since I was a kid, I already heard Bro. Eli. My mother would bring us to the locale. Until I grew up, I was in the KNC.

On Being Baptized

It feels good inside and I’m happy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May God always keep them. Thanks be to God because I became a member through them.

~o~

Bro. Mark Jayson Villarante, 15, Former KNC, Rizal Province

On Joining the Church of God

I felt that the Lord was calling me already. Also, it is God’s will for me that’s why I got baptized.

At first, it was my older brother that became a member. Then my mother invited me to the lcoale. I was a KNC first, until I understood [the teachings] gradually.

It is not in other religions. If you will compare the Church to others, the teachings I hear in the Church are unparalleled. They are really different.

On Being Baptized

I felt light and I feel that my sins have been cleaned. It’s like I’m a newborn baby. It’s like what Bro. Eli said. I feel really really light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May the Lord always keep them, and I pray that they may reach many more people and lead them to return unto God and become members of the Church of God.

~o~

Bro. Jovey Abac, 69, Former Born Again, Bataan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I’ve been 12 years as a Born Again Christian, but I saw [how] the Lord touched me and it’s very effective. I just knew of this through watching television. Every time I would get up at 2 a.m., I would see [The Old Path], and it would start at that time.

Somehow, I knew spiritual things, though in another way. But perhaps, there is an appointed time for me to serve. I believe that I have kept my relationship with God, and my knowedge has increased.

On Being Baptized

Oh I really believe that the Holy Spirit is in me. I just really felt it. Upon sitting down, there was a cool breeze, and I felt my tears flowing from my eyes though I wasn’t remembering anything. I just cried and cried during the baptism.

Before I was immersed, until afterwards I was crying and crying all the way to the restroom. That’s what I felt. That the Holy Spirit is in me.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope many more will pray for their safety, and may they continue to lead many more souls unto the Church.

Newly Baptized Testimonials: December 12, 2014

Read short testimonials of faith from some of MCGI’s youngest brethren baptized on December 12, 2014 at the ADD Convention Center in Apalit Pampanga.

Sis. Wilma Jane Vidal, 32, Former Baptist, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I’ve been a member of other religions — I’ve been a Catholic, a Baptist, but they’re not true. This is the one I found to be true so I joined it.

When he [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] was still here in the Philippines, I went to Araneta Coliseum [to attend his Worldwide Bible Exposition]. I saw him then, but I didn’t continue [listening].

One time, I saw on television an invitation to the Mass Indoctrination. I felt like I wanted to join, because I don’t know what tomorrow may bring. What if I died tomorrow? So I went to the Locale of Santolan and requested for indoctrination.

On Beng Baptized

It’s like it’s so light to the feeling because I have thrown away all the negative things, all my anger towards others. Also, I’ve repented of the sins I’ve done in the past.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Thank you. Thanks be to God. That’s all really.

~o~

Bro. Ariston Tuazon, 62, Former Catholic, Rizal Province

On Joining the Church of God

Way back 10 or 15 years ago, I was already watching Bro. Eli on television. Actually, I wanted to join back then; I just didn’t know what locale chapter to go to.

Now, I was invited by… I made a friend named Bro. Art in Sta. Lucia mall. He invited me to join the Church of God. I was buying bread at French Baker [when we met].

I have long wanted to become a member here. Even her husband [points to Sis. Leonor Dela Paz, his sister], who had already died, really wanted to join here, but didn’t know how. But this is my opportunity now.

Before I became a member here, I was busy in my work. It’s only now that I had a great chance to join here.

On Being Baptized

I feel good. The only thing is, you cannot help but cry. Even in prayer, you’ll remember all the sins you have committed before God. I hope all my sins have been forgiven in the baptism, all my errors, my ill feelings against my fellows.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Long live to their program and may they be able to help our other brethen who are in need of their aid.

~o~

Sis. Leonor Dela Paz, 70, Former Catholic, Rizal Province

On Being Baptized

I didn’t plan at first to become a member. I just went with my brother because on Sundays we go out.

Actually, it was my husband who listened to Bro. Eli. I was even mad at times because I heard him say things about other religions. But my husband didn’t say anything. He just continued listening to Bro. Eli.

One time when we were going to church, he didn’t want to come with us. He said, “Those are just statues. Are those what you worship?” That’s what my husband said, so I didn’t urge him anymore.

He wanted to join, I believe. He just didn’t know how until he died in 2010 of colon cancer at the age of 67.

Whenever he [points to Bro. Ariston Tuazon] goes to church, he goes by our house. Then he went to buy at French Baker tagging me along. I never knew I would be here and be baptized.

I just went with him, and I listened to the preaching of Bro. Eli, to the word of God; I listened and it’s all true.

On Being Baptized

It was very touching. I cried. I can’t explain what I felt but I know that my life has changed.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli may you continue your good works, and you’ll have many more brethren in the future.

~o~

Bro. Renato Pascual, 44, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Because of the clear and deep explanation of the bible, that’s why I joined.

There was a Bible Study in our place. They went to San Miguel, Bulacan. We were invited, and we went there.

Our interest was drawn to listening because it was different from the religions that we were able to examine there. They had shallow explanations, unlike here wherein they really teach to people the word of God.

We didn’t know Bro. Eli Soriano then. Actually, we were attending at the time in a Born Again group called Hope of Life.

But then we were able to listen to [the Bible Study], and I found the explanation to be deep, so I stopped listening to the other one. I said that, “The true one has come.”

On Being Baptized

I feel all right, like my body feels light. It’s like all my problems are gone away. Though I may have problems now, but I don’t mind them anymore. What’s important to me is that I fulfilled what I wanted: to be baptized.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

My message to Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel is, may the Lord God will for their lives to be longer and be able to spread the word of God more.

~o~

Bro. Oliver Maglinte, 40, Former Born Again, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

I was still studying in Manila when I first heard Bro. Eli Soriano. I heard it [The Old Path] in 1993, but I just wasn’t regularly watching it due to my schooling.

He also got popular because of Brad Pete (Iskho Salvador) on Bubble Gang. That’s when I got to watch him regularly.

But I didn’t mind the teachings before, as they weren’t yet on my mind. I was still in vices then because I was still young. Then I transferred to Bulacan in San Miguel where I found work and rented a place there.

I’m a farmer, but I even make charcoal. Actually, that’s what I have been doing for the many years of my life.

I was also able to listen on radio sometimes, but time came that I lost track of it. One time, there came someone preaching the word of God from The Old Path [the Church of God]. I heard the news from my in-law, from the nephews of my in-law.

It was a Bible Study; sometimes, it was Bible Expositions. I just heard about them at first, but this year, I gave it a try. After work, after delivering charcoal, I found them near [the place I went to], so I tried it.

Before, I only heard Bro. Eli on radio. Now, I’m able to see him personally on television.

When I heard what Bro. Eli says and what our pastor says, the difference is far; It’s very far. The Born Again pastor also made jokes, but unlike Bro. Eli. He makes you laugh with details in his every story.

Of course, he reads [the Bible] and shares stories that can make anybody laugh. It can even make celebrities laugh. That’s what I admire about him. Bro. Eli is the one who really bears the teachings of God. That’s what amazed me about him. All my life, it’s really only now that I heard such teachings.

On Being Baptized

I felt something went out of me. I can’t explain it. In my whole life, at this age, it’s the first time I found this “something” wherein I feel joy. It’s really only now I felt like this.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Eli, Bro. Daniel I hope that you’ll be guided by God all your lives. I hope that all those who have not heard of your teachings, those who have not been enlightened yet, may hear you. I really pray that [I’ll] be able to continue until the end.

Bro. Eli Shows Biblical Meaning of Christ’s Cross in Worldwide Bible Exposition

When asked what the message of Christ’s cross was in the question-and-answer period of a recent Bible Exposition, Bro. Eliseo Soriano shed biblical light not only about its meaning but also expounded his answer to include what the two other crosses signify.

A Bible Exposition guest from Muntinlupa City asked the Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path) host this question live last December 5 this year. The inquirer, Melissa Soriano, who said she reads the Bible twice a day, sought enlightenment to her question: “What is the word of the cross written in 1 Corinthians 1:18?”

In the verse, we can read: “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

Of Heavenly Bodies and Musical Instruments

Bro. Soriano, Overall Servant to Members Church of God International (MCGI), began his discussion by explaining through the Holy Scriptures the different ways in which messages are revealed. Not all messages are heard audibly, according to the Filipino preacher.

“There are many things that speak, but we don’t hear their words,” Bro. Eli said. He then read Psalms 19:1-3, whose verses show that even without speech the heavens declare the majesty of God.

When he elaborated on the passage, Bro. Soriano told audiences that the heavens are proof that there is God.

Bro. Eli explained that the rotation of the earth on its axis and its revolution around the sun has been going on for billions of years. “And yet, no accident has happened. It’s because there is a God who keeps it in order.”

To prove his point further, the preacher said that the sound of the trumpet in Old Israel meant something: to alert the people that enemies were coming. Hence, they should be ready to set out for war.

“What I mean is, the cross says something. And there is a message, good news in the cross,” said Bro. Eli, adding that “it is the word of salvation.” He further explained that the message of Christ’s cross is His triumph over the devil in redeeming the sins of people.

However, it was not the sole cross that bore a message. As the televangelist explained, the two other crosses next to Christ also have meanings.

The cross on the right side of Christ meant that “though you are a sinner like the thief, you can be saved if you’ll repent, if you’ll believe.”

The other cross, on the other hand, meant that “if you are evil, and you don’t want to believe, and you mock Christ, then you really will go to hell.”

Using the Death March in Bataan and Corregidor for parallelism, Bro. Eli said that for Filipinos who understand what happened, the two provinces bear an important message. He said that, “It was there that our fellow citizens gave their lives for our freedom.”

“It doesn’t follow that though significant events transpired in Bataan and Corregidor, that we should worship Bataan and Corregidor,” said the preacher. He then noted that while Christ’s cross speaks of something as valuable as His salvation, it is not something to be worshipped.

The Worldwide Bible Exposition, a monthly evangelization effort organized by MCGI, offers a venue wherein guests in its coordinating centers can ask the preacher any question of faith live and for free.

That evening’s event had over 1,360 remote points in different parts of the globe connected via satellite and Internet facilities.

Ang Dating Daan Has Come A Long Way, But Still Looks to Reach More Souls

“From the start of the program – though there have been many hindrances, we can say that with the help and mercy of God – Ang Dating Daan has come a long, long way.”

This was part of a presentation that Bro. Daniel Razon delivered before the guests who filled the Smart-Araneta Coliseum during the 34th anniversary of the Ang Dating Daan program last October this year.

According to Bro. Razon told that it was not all smooth-sailing running the program hosted by Bro. Eli Soriano. Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel are the Overall Servants of the Members Church of God International or MCGI.

Ang Dating Daan (which is named The Old Path for its English-speaking constituents) not only has a modest beginning. The award-winning show also experienced many financial hardships and challenges due to religious persecutions.

But in spite of the hindrances, Ang Dating Daan has achieved what its contemporaries has only dreamed of becoming – the longest-running religious program in the Philippines. More than this feat, it is also the only Filipino-produced religious show with the widest scope of international broadcast.

From a three-person team composed of the then still 17-year-old Bro. Daniel as its videographer and editor, Sis Luz Cruz as production assistant and researcher, and Bro. Eli as the host – Ang Dating Daan now has an international following, with the help and mercy of God.

Ang Dating Daan’s worldwide reach

Now posted on Ang Dating Daan’s Youtube channel, the keynote presentation delivered by Bro. Razon has observers commending the feat the religious program has gone in broadcasting the word of God through different forms of media and communication.

“Now, as we speak, we glorify the Almighty, that this program is being aired simultaneously in all the six populated continents of the world,” said Bro. Daniel, who is also known as Kuya Daniel in MCGI and among his constituents in the broadcast industry as a journalist and multimedia host.

One of its satellite providers, the SES-6, allows people in North America, as well several countries in the Central, South American and European countries to watch the Ang Dating Daan program.

During his keynote speech on The Old Path's 34th Anniversary on October 30, 2014, Bro. Daniel Razon told the jam-packed Smart-Araneta Coliseum of the various satellite services through which The Old Path is broadcast 24/7. (Photo courtesy of PVI)

Meanwhile, the MEASAT 3A assists in extending MCGI’s broadcast efforts in majority of Asian, Middle Eastern, European, Eastern African, and Oceanic countries.

For South American audience, the Star One C2 satellite carries the religious program to Spanish and Portuguese-speaking audiences.

Apart from television, radio, and 24-hour broadcast on the Internet, audience with smartphones and tablet gadgets can access the broadcasts through the MCGI Broadcast App.

With worldwide reach, MCGI has started producing the program in different languages, such as The Old Path for English, and the Portuguese and Spanish versions of O Caminho Antigo and El Camino Antiguo, respectively.

“Besides these three languages, we are now translating the program Ang Dating Daan in different languages and dialects,” said Kuya Daniel, citing countries now served by the program in various language formats, such as Japan, China, Germany, Africa, Papua New Guinea, and others.”

The Fruits of Broadcast

Due to the intensified broadcasting of the program in different corners of the globe, more and more foreign listeners of the Ang Dating Daan have been baptized inside the Church.

“We continuously receive letters – from mails and emails, [as well as] chat and text messages, from different countries that the Ang Dating Daan broadcast reaches,” said Bro. Daniel during his presentation. “They are waiting for the doctrines of God and to be baptized in the Church of God.”

With a great number of individuals wanting to get baptized from different countries, Church workers and Assistants to the Administration have to travel far distances to perform the baptisms.

The growing number of new brethren baptized in the Church also prompted the establishment of new coordinating centers in the Philippines and abroad.

“There have been many changed lives because of listening to and watching the program Ang Dating Daan. And these people have further cultivated their love for the Word of God and for their fellowmen,” stressed Bro. Daniel. “We give no credit to man – for it is all through God’s love, that this has become possible.”

Sis. Wilma Jane Vidal, 32, Former Baptist, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I’ve been a member of other religions I’ve been a Catholic, a Baptist, but they’re not true.

On MCGI Leaders

Sis. Evalor Virrey, 26, Former Catholic, Quezon Province

On Joining the Church of God

I joined because it’s where I learned so many things that can help me to live properly in this world.

I learned a lot of teachings that I didn’t learn from where I formerly worshipped. Then, it’s the teachings that have given me strength to face the problems that come. So why wouldn’t I get baptized when it’s for my own good?

When I was in high school, I had a friend whose religion was The Old Path [the Church of God]. I actually don’t know why I felt close to her.

Whenever I had a problem I would tell it to her, and she would give me wisdom that is from the Bible. She would give solutions to my problems and words of wisdom that were good for me.

I really wanted to be [indoctrinated]. I didn’t have a heavy problem, but I just felt Him. I obliged the first time I was invited to attend. And when I prayed, I felt it was effective; I felt that I was talking to Him, like we really had a relationship.

On Being Baptized

I felt like crying and I couldn’t explain it; it’s quite touching. But I believe in what He said, that He will not forsake me.

I’m from Quezon, and it was said that this is really the place for baptism so that’s why I’m here today.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope they continue to be guided by God so that they’ll be able to serve many more people who are in need, especially those who still need them.

~o~

Bro. Oliver Domingo, 25, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

There came a time when there were many trials in my life, and I realized that I really needed to approach Him.

So I listened to the teachings, and I felt moved. I felt that it is really needed in our lives. Because you’ll ask yourself, “How do we live?”

Sometimes you see your mistakes, and you’ll eventually realize that we really need Him to correct what’s wrong in our lives.

My friend had a friend who was a member here. I’m a guy who’s really attracted to women who are modest, so I wondered what her religion was. So I gave her religion a try and I got convinced by how they set people straight.

It was on the Internet, on Youtube [that I first heard Bro. Eliseo Soriano]. Then I liked all the pages on Facebook, and watched everything until the time came when I wanted to attend in a locale.

Then, everything discussed there was in the Bible, and everything made sense. That’s what I admired about it, the logical connection of it all. In your mind, you’ll find no room for doubt; you’ll believe it immediately because it’s the words of God.

It’s in the Bible. It came from the Apostles of Christ so you’ll really believe. Even in old times before, they already spread the word of God to people. We just have to observe it. And I felt the need to respond to it.

As it was said here, the seed of Abraham, that’s [in] us. We just have to follow the path laid by the Father, so we will be righteous.

On Being Baptized

I was being asked by Bro. Lito [the baptizer] a few questions, and my heart was moved as I answered. I was crying but I was happy because I’m one of [those He called].

I have accepted all doctrines and I feel happy because despite my mistakes I feel sorry for the things I’ve done God made [me] feel hurt for Him to set them right.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful because if it weren’t for them, I would not realize this sharing of the word of God through the Bible. They really pour their time into it despite having nothing in return.

What our preachers, Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, want in return is for you to give thanks to God every day for what He has done for us. Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel don’t expect for you to give them anything, but for the Lord.

Because of them, I’ll be able to set my life straight as time goes by [with God’s help]. I’m thankful because they keep on doing good even to those who are not brethren in faith. They don’t ask for anyting in return. Everything is really in the Bible.

~o~

Sis. Maria Teresa San Diego, 49, Former Born Again, Manila

On Being Baptized

My family is very Catholic. Now, I was listening to the radio and found a Born Again group. I was baptized as a Born Again Christian, but I felt something was lacking.

Then I was able to watch Bro. Eli Soriano on television; sometimes, at night, sometimes at noon. When I got the chance to watch him regularly, I saw that his view of the Bible is different; what he says is different. I said, “He’s direct to the point,” something like that and hoped to be able attend one time.

Although I see a lot of The Old Path [Coordinating Centers], I didn’t know what to do. Then last May, my boyfriend and I were buying bread in French Baker at the Sta. Lucia mall.

Then my partner was the first to fall in line there, as I went to McDonalds. When I got there, he was already talking to a Bro. Arthur who is from Cainta, Rizal.

He introduced me to him he said, “Love, this is Bro. Art of The Old Path [the Church of God].” He just met him there, while [he was] waiting in line. We stayed there for about one and a half hour still. Bro. Art’s wife was also there, Sis. Dory.

Then, when we chatted, he invited us. “Why don’t you go to The Old Path in Cainta? There’s a locale there,” he said. He told us that we could attend indoctrination. So we tried it.

On Being Baptized

It feels so light inside, like I have surrendered all my problems to Him today. I have forgiven all; everything that happened to me, all the headaches, all the heartaches I have given to Him. So I’m okay now.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I thank Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel that through the teachings in the Bible, they preach on television, and I’m one of those people whom they have helped to change. I am elated. Many, many thanks.

~o~

Bro. Ryan Vasquez, 33, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

I felt that God was calling me.

It was on radio, on [La Verdad] 1350. Perhaps God willed for me [to find it] because I just turned the dial and wasn’t expecting it.

I was looking for a music channel on AM – as it only had that frequency – on my truck’s radio when it zeroed in to 1350. Right at that moment was Bro. Eli’s program, Itanong Mo Kay Soriano [Ask Bro. Eli, the Bible Will Answer].

When I heard it, I said, “What is this? It’s different.” So I tuned in to it over and over again; I didn’t change the channel anymore, until I learned that there was a television program.

I think it was since a year ago, but my work hindered me as I have a 24-hour duty. Then when I went to UNTV on EDSA to seek [free legal advice] for my father, for my aunt.

It was then that I asked [about indoctrination] and learned that there was an individual service. I suddenly felt encouraged, and the immediate Wednesday after that, I went to [a locale] and asked for an individual service.

I invited my aunt, my siblings. At first my yaya and other sibling didn’t want to attend. But on the third session, they did so I was happy. They just made up for the two sessions they missed, and we continued with it until the seventh one last Wedensday. Then we are now here in Apalit to be baptized.

I investigated what they read and, with God’s mercy, we are now members of the Church of God.

On Being Baptized

Firstly, I was crying because when [the baptizer] was asking me questions, I told myself that this is the opportunity I’ve been waiting for. Because that’s what I really want to happen as well.

I learned that it feels good to help your fellow. After I answered yes, while crying, I still wept. The water mixed with my tears. When I got out of the baptistery, I felt light inside. It really feels good.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I owe a great deal of thanks to Bro. Eli, because firstly, he fights for truth and righteousness despite difficulties; the same with Kuya Daniel.

They not only save souls but also attend to personal problems of other people. They responded to my call of help. They successfully referred us to the DOTC [Department of Transportation and Communications], but we’re going to go back to give thanks. My father’s case is already closed.

Bro. Rex Adet, 37, Former Catholic, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

When I left the province, my mind was a bit confused. It was like there wasn’t anywhere I could go to; I didn’t know what to do. I was troubled, and I felt that my life was lost; I didn’t want to live anymore.

I have two children in the province, but I had a problem. So when my older brother invited me, it took me another week before I obliged.

I’ve been watching The Old Path, Bro. Eliseo Soriano in the province, but I guess I just didn’t have time before.

I went with my older brother. Thanks be to God that my mind is okay now. Even if I go back home to Iloilo, in the province, without anything material to bring to my children, I bear something great in my heart that’s good.

Also, I can set my life straight now [with God’s help]; I can share this to my children, wife, family, mother, to all. I feel something pleasant in my heart; before, it was really empty.

On Being Baptized

After I got immersed in baptism, I felt light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Daniel, Bro. Eli, thanks for everything that you have taught; your teachings from the Lord God have changed me.

I believe that in the coming times, I will be able to mind matters in my life, be able to give the wonderful things you have taught me to my relatives, mother, and children. I’m really very thankful because of you. If it weren’t for you, my life would have been wasted.

~o~

Bro. Argel Joseph Palisoc, 28, Former Born Again, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

Many problems came to me until the time that I wanted to go back to my previous Born Again religion. But I had even more problems and I felt shy, lacklustered and became alone.

My former classmate, who is a member here in The Old Path [the Church of God], invited me here one time.

I tried it and was enlightened, until the time came that everything that was happening to me was being answered in the indoctrination sessions. I felt it was a blessing to me.

It didn’t happen in just one day, but perhaps in those seven days, my questions were answered. Actually, I also lost my job. I asked a sign from the Lord that He was really calling me.

The seventh day arrived and I proved Him to be the One who was really calling me. I set that day and I was really convinced [of the doctrines]. Everything Bro. Eli said was so very clear.

The first time I attended [indoctrination], it was as if Bro. Eli clearly saw what was happening to me. It was already answered there: how to pray when troubles come. It’s clear, and the Bible Exposition as well. It’s clear to me. I was enlightened.

It’s like my problems were solved. As was said, seek the Lord and you’ll see for yourself that He will not forsake you. This is it. Many, many thanks.

On Being Baptized

At first I felt afraid because it says [in the Bible] that we shouldn’t turn back. But then I heard Bro. Eli saying that we should investigate and then choose.

That’s when things became clear to me, that we have a choice, and that you’ll really feel whether the baptism is true or not because it will manifest in the life of everyone. All my questions were answered here. I’m really thankful.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Many, many thanks. I hope that you’ll be able to enlighten many more people, be able to lead many more people. May the Lord always guide you wherever you may go.

~o~

Sis. Glecy Pecenio, 31, Former Christian, Manila

On Joining the Church of God

The teachings are good, clear, biblical.

I’ve actually seen him [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] on television before, but I wasn’t able to tune in to it much.

Then, my co-worker and I always talked to each other, until I became curious because I was learning so much from her than from my pastor. I told her that I would come with her.

We were sharing [about religion], and I was being amazed by how much she was able to share with me. I learned a lot from her so I got curious.

My questions to her were about the Bible, as I really want to be biblical. So when I got to the locale, I liked it very much already. The doctrines were surprising, very pleasant and really true.

On Being Baptized

It was very nice; this is really a first. I was baptized in another religion before but this is different. I was still a teenager then. I felt like I was just immersed then, unlike here wherein I fell really blessed.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Of course many thanks because God used him for the words that we haven’t heard from others to reach us. May they always take care of themselves.

~o~

Bro. Romeo Delos Santos, 57, Former Catholic, Bulacan Province

On Joining the Church of God

At a time in my life when I had many problems, my nephew invited me to a Bible Exposition and a Bible study. And I just found myself saying yes to him.

I weighed what I heard and felt somewhat enlightened. My children would stop me from [listening] but I didn’t let myself get hindered.

On Being Baptized

It feels light inside.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope that [they] will be able to help many more people like me to join them.

~o~

Bro. Joel Agbisit, 45, Former Protestant, NCR

On Joining the Church of God

All I can say is that I’ve truly accepted Him as the true Lord. He has cleansed my sins.

What I can say about the doctrines is that what Bro. Eli Soriano says is really good; it’s the true religion. That’s all I can say.

On Being Baptized

I felt like crying, and I can’t explain it. I was trembling and crying. I can’t say it. Perhaps it’s the Holy Spirit. I’m happy and I feel light inside. But I just really can’t say it; I truly can’t explain it.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

All I can say for them is that may there be many more brethren who will join the Church, The Old Path. Happy birthday to Bro. Daniel as well.

~o~

Bro. Nilo and Sis. Sonia Javier, 54, Former Born Again Pastor and Member, Batangas Province

On Joining the Church of God

Bro. Nilo: When I came home to the Philippines [from the Middle East], my family was in a Born Again group. The names of our churches were different: theirs were Love of Jesus Mission Church, ours was Church of the Living God.

There came a point when there were many Born Again groups in our place, and my aunt and our neighbors and us talked about just becoming one group here in the Philippines.

Now, I had some questions in my mind that lacked answers. So I talked with different religions like the Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Seventh Day Adventists, the Baptists. I was able to learn a little something from each of them.

I even met an Austrian who was a Jehovah’s Witness. He was short. He married a Filipina and he invited me to their place when he went for a vacation in our place.

I admired his study of the Bible as he had many Bibles of different versions, even online. He has Greek and Hebrew translations. A few of my questions were answered, but it wasn’t complete.

So when we had cable television installed, I found Bro. Eli Soriano’s station and tried to listen to it. I listened and listened until I found that all of my questions have been answered.

Sis. Sonia: I was the one who saw it and told him about it. We were looking for TBN. That’s Trinity Broadcast Network.

Bro. Nilo: That was one of my questions, about the trinity. No one could ever answer it. When I asked a pastor – he was even called a doctor of theology – about it, I didn’t get a satisfying answer from him.

He told me, “Just don’t listen to those people [who questioned the said doctrine].” I didn’t expect such an answer from him, so I didn’t bother to ask him again.

It’s because I asked him who taught such a teaching? From whom did it originate, because it’s not in the Bible? That’s something that I learned from Catholicism, and even when I became a Born Again group member it’s still there. Now, I only learned [the answer] from listening to Bro. Eli Soriano.

On Being Baptized

Sis. Sonia: I feel light. The night before I said, “Why is it like this? Why does my chest feel heavy?” I wasn’t thinking of anything, but I didn’t sleep as soundly.

It’s like the enemy is causing you to have second thoughts. But I toldy myself that, whatever happens, I will really continue [with God’s help]. It’s just the enemy that’s making me feel like this.

Bro. Nilo: I feel okay. I feel good.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

Bro. Nilo: I thank Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel because the Lord used them. The questions I had that other sects could not answer have been answered.

Sis. Sonia: I also thank them both, Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel because my mind has the more been enlightened.

You will really keep the teachings and doctrines in your heart and mind, and you will not disregard them because they’re truly in the Bible, in the words of God. You’ll realize that [it’s] the right path towards holiness and salvation.

I’m also thankful that our place was used for indoctrination. I hope that it will be used because we are willing. There are many who are in need of salvation. Though it’s small, we are willing for it to be used.

Bro. John Ray Salas, 23, Former Catholic, NCR

On Joining the Church of God

I was able to listen to him [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] through my cell phone as it had TV on it. I was just surfing the channels that time until I saw him.

When my phone broke down, I followed him on Youtube. It was there that I got to listen to Bro. Eli’s debates. I also saw there defamations against Bro. Eli that I found to be untrue.

He had debates with various religions. I also scrutinized the teachings then, and for me, he is right.

On Being Baptized

I feel light, like I’m floating as I was walking. I actually have coughs and colds; I just kept expectorating the phlegm a while ago and now it’s gone. I feel light and happy.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

May God make their lives longer that they may be able to serve and preach to others. May they lead many more brethren unto the Church of God.

~o~

Bro. Ian Roi Lagarde, 21, Former Catholic, NCR

On Joining the Church of God

My father watches [The Old Path] on television, so it’s like he was also instrumental for me to be able to listen to the teachings of Bro. Eli.

Through Bro. Eli, God called me to serve Him, as I have wasted many opportunities already. There have been many times when I was in danger, and whenever I called to God, He didn’t forsake me. He always helps me. Now, in return, I want to serve him with the life He continues to give me.

I’m thankful that Bro. Eli opened this wide discussion, and through him many have been encouraged to return to the true Church of God.

On Being Baptized

It feels good. I felt like I’m in the right Church that lost people or lost souls in other religions must tread in.

I felt light; it’s like I felt how it is to be resurrected, and to leave the past behind. I also felt blessed by God, and that He has given me new purpose in life to live and serve Him and encourage others to do the same.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I’m thankful to all the workers of Bro. Eli Soriano; they also encouraged me to join the Church.

I’m thankful also to the teachings of Bro. Eli [and Bro. Daniel] because they don’t depend on others. What they defend are the true words of God; they don’t resort to other words to encourage others.

They want to preach to all and inform other people that the word of God is not something to be disregarded. It is something that must be learned. Though it may be hard, we still must obey it.

On Joining the Church of God

My relatives and father are already members. I’ve been listening for a long time and with God’s mercy, I have been given an opportunity to be indoctrinated and baptized. I am now a member with God’s help.

Even at the start of my listening, I felt and learned that it is the true word of God and true teaching of God.

On Being Baptized

I cannot explain it, but I’m happy. It’s a different feeling that is difficult to put in words. I feel very light.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

To Bro. Eli and Bro. Daniel, I’m exceedingly thankful because if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be able to hear the true doctrines of our Lord God. I hope that their days on earth will multiply that they may be able to preach more the words of God.

On Joining the Church of God

I’ve been watching [Bro. Eliseo Soriano] on television since about two years ago. As I was watching one day, I heard Bro. Eli inviting people [to attend indoctrination]. I said, “I’ve got time?” So I attended. The doctrines are so true. This is where I found the true teachings.

On Being Baptized

I feel happy, like my life was changed. I feel light and have forgotten the things I’ve done in the past.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I hope you continue your works. May you lead many more brethren.

Bro. Dale Ward; 58; Non-Denominational; Texas, USA

On Joining the Church of God

I was brought up a Baptist and I was married into Church of God in Christ, and the most recent was non-denominational. Up until now I found the truth, being in the Church of God International, through the doctrines that have been taught.

From times past, it was just like bits and pieces of the truth in my former religion. And it was only just enough to appease or satisfy the congregation there. I guess it was going for more of a comfortable type of religion or “comfortable church” where any individual could feel comfortable about some of the vices that they were doing, where they can continue to do some of the ills… A comfortable church, that’s what I would call it.

But presently here with the Church of God International … man, it’s like … wow. It’s just like it’s the other side of the leaf that wasn’t shown to you for 58 years of age. And now, I’m receiving the true light and the continuation.

And I thank God for the brothers whom God introduced [to us who steadfastly] continue with this ministry. It’s just blowing the devil’s socks off, because a lot of young, middle-aged and seniors are coming around from different denominations. And I’m just elated myself.

Like I said, today was my baptismal day, my regeneration, my recreation day: 12:07 pm, November 21, 2014. And as long as I can, with God’s will, I will be a part of it, and to help make me become a kingdom citizen.

To be a kingdom citizen, I must learn the ordinances and the laws and the regulations [needed to be] a profitable citizen. And I just thank God for this opportunity: All the way from Texas, USA [laughs].

Well, there’s a Church of God there in my hometown, but not Church of God International. So I began to look at the international aspect of it. And I said, “Wow. Over here in the Philippines.” So I was at my plan to come to the Philippines. I said “Wow. I need a place to worship.” So I prayed to God and God sent a door, and the door was open and thank God He provided [laughs].

There was another individiual that was instrumental in my being made closer and being more aware.

On Being Baptized

First of all, I had to keep everything else out of my mind to see how sacred this is. So everything else was turned out, and I was thanking God for just doing this thing in me, giving me this opportunity, because many guys my same age have the same opportunity but they neglected it and some have died. But He allowed me to have this opportunity to further my purpose in life.

With that, I just felt like my burdens were lifted. And a lot of cares that I cared about, I don’t need to care about no more. No more worries, because I’m gonna have some but I’m gonna have victory over them. At 58 and being baptized? Man!

Oh, wow, I’m still high. And it’s not with intoxicating drugs or alcohol. It’s the Spirit and love of God, and this ministry. It’s just something to keep and sustain us.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

I want to tell the brothers to continue, and that God continue strengthening them to bring forth the word, and everything that they do and their families.

[May] they keep feeding us the good news of the Gospel. By it, we will grow and we will be better kingdom citizens and a better help to one another on this earth. And our prayers are with them both and their families. Salamat sa Dios (Thanks be to God). To God be the glory.

Bro. Mark Anthony Padua, 28, Former Catholic, Bicol Province

On Joining the Church of God

The instruction is right. The teachings we receive here are good, and the religion is true. The reason why I joined is because I want my sins to depart from me.

I was invited by a member here to the indoctrination sessions. I went with him because it’s in the name of God, so I didn’t refuse.

I already got interested with what I heard the first time. So I attended every night of the indoctrination sessions, even though my friend wasn’t with me at times, because I wanted to attend without fail.

I learned prohibitions and righteousness. Also, the reason why I wanted to be indoctrinated is because I wanted to live a new life. And I’m thankful that I was given a new opportunity for my sins to be forgiven. I thank the Lord that I became a member here.

On Being Baptized

It’s good; it’s really good. It’s like my heart became good. During baptism, I felt nervous, but I fought the feeling because I know that this is [the truth], why deny it?

I overcame something that was whispering to my mind. So I’m here now, and it feels so good that I will be serving the Lord.

On Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon

To Bro. Eli, I thank him because firstly, he teaches many people. I’m thankful for his service to us. He doesn’t neglect us, so I’m thankful to him as well as to Bro. Daniel.

I hope that they may be able to lead many more who are still in the world. God willing, they may still preach, and that I will be able to lead my mother and my siblings here. I also want them to be saved.

To God be the glory
