INQUIRER: In a family, if they are not... They have different religions, do they have the chance to be saved or inherit eternal life?
Bro. Eli F. Soriano (EFS): We do not take away the chance from all men. Because chance is given by God. The chance or the opportunity. God does not take that away from all men. He gives evil people a chance. In II Peter 3:9 -
Sis. Luz Cruz (LC): "The Lord is not slacked concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
EFS: What does God want, Sister Luz?
LC: He wants all men to come to repentance.
EFS: What does He not want?
LC: He doesn't want anyone to perish.
EFS: When we say anyone, is anyone exempted?
LC: None. Everyone is included there.
EFS: Meaning, He wants all men to be saved.
LC: Yes.
EFS: Let us prove in I Timothy 2:4 -
LC: "Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."
EFS: If you were to ask God, what He wants is for all men to be saved. They have the chance if they will accept the truth. The Bible states that, "Who will have all men to be saved." So, that is the chance. That is God's will. The will of God is the chance for all men. In the Bible, God wants all men to be saved. There is a chance. We shall be saved if we will obey. But if we don't want to obey, we shall not be saved. In II Thessalonians 2:11-12 -
LC: "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:" "That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."
EFS: God shall judge all who do not want to believe. In II Thessalonians 1:8-9 -
LC: "In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:" "Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;"
EFS: If you don't want to believe, you don't want to obey, you will not be saved. But your family has a chance, provided that they obey. They should not remain in error. They don't want to obey, they don't want to listen, and they are still saved? We cannot mock God. God is a power obeyed and subjected to for us to be saved. But if you don't want to, you refuse to submit to God, you refuse to obey God, then salvation is hard to be attained. That cannot be the case. That is my answer.
